I think that guy could be an amateur gemologist - he's staring right at her big ol' engagement ring, and apparently approves of the cut, clarity, color, and carat (and don't forget the fifth "C", COST!). |

Yeah, that guy was verbally abused with gay accusations the entire time by Mickey. He should have never worn that blouse white shirt. |

RoadRUNNER Touring Weekend July 9-11, 2009 Here’s a report on this past weekend. I got up to Wisp Resort Thursday afternoon. That night they had a welcome dinner (burgers, hotdogs and the normal cookout sides) and they when over the itinerary for the weekend. They were 2 guided rides and 1 unguided ride. Every night they had a guest speaker. Thursday had a fellow talking about Zen and motorcycling, I’m not sure I bought into that. On Friday I rode with one of the Sport groups and did a 200 mile loop running thru MD, WV, and PA. We had 12 people in our group including a leader and sweep. We stopped at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA. The route had lots of twisty bits and they stopped about every 50 miles or so for a break. The pace was good and it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves. Included as part of the tour was lunch both days and we stopped the Oakhurst Tea Room in Sommerset, PA for a buffet lunch. Friday’s night talk was how to prepare for a trip, and it have several good tips. The weather forecast for Saturday was 80% chance of rain/ thunderstorm all day. I checked at the radar and it didn’t look good. So instead of doing the guided ride, I decided to get an early start and do the unguided ride. A good portion of this ride was on RT 72 which follows the Cheat River, good road was nice swipers. I got sprinkled on a couple of times and then I hit the rain and got good and wet. Of course there was no place to stop to put the rain gear on. I cut the ride short and by the time I got back to the resort I was almost dry. I found out later that the guided ride I was to go on didn’t see much rain either. The weatherman was wrong again. Saturday night they was a farewell dinner, a talk on traveling to Europe and door prizes. They had a ton of stuff to give away. The largest was a 4 day trip to Moab, UT valued at $1500. Sunday I was headed home and followed RT 50 all the way to Winchester. There is some construction on RT 50 and I ran into a couple of detours. RT 50 in western MD and WV has some great twisty bits. So would I do another RoadRUNNER weekend? Absolutely. I look forward to see where they will have next year’s event. I also now have some good maps if we ever decide to do a Western Maryland Buell Rally, think BRAG rally in Lavale, MD back in 2005. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I got this email from RoadRUNNER today. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When riders started inquiring about the location of the 2010 RoadRUNNER Touring Weekend and Christian Neuhauser Memorial Ride, before the 2009 event was even concluded, we knew that this year's 140 attendees were having a great time. The weekend was jam-packed with motorcycling activities, including free riding mini-clinics with Jim Ford from The Rider's Workshop; two day-long guided tour loops that provided stunning scenery, great roads and interesting rest stops; informative evening seminars; and jubilant camaraderie at the dinners and cocktail hours. A total of 44 door prizes - with an aggregate retail value of over $6,000 - were awarded on the final evening of the festivities. Examples of prizes awarded included: Open Road Motorcycle Adventures: Unguided Tour in Utah, including four nights lodging, motorcycle rental (HD) and a tour book with maps, detailed directions, dining recommendations, and information on the area ($1500 value) Adaptiv Technologies: The new TPX Motorcycle Radar & Laser Detection System and certificates ($1,225 value) Dainese: Gift Certificate to the new D-Store, which can be used over the phone towards the purchase of any Dainese or AGV product ($500 value) S100: S100 Motorcycle Care Kits ($400 value) Stop N' Go: Pocket Tire Plugger plus CO2 Inflation Kits ($390 value) Wisp Resort: Travel Pack featuring a FREE 2 night stay at the Wisp Resort, snacks, and a beverage cooler. ($300 value) Shoei: Two gift certificates for 50% off the cost of any Shoei helmet ($300 value) Tour Master Transition Jacket ($189 value) (Message edited by pellis on July 15, 2009) (Message edited by pellis on July 16, 2009) |

Start at Ft.Washington HD, and work are way down to Prince Frederick, thru North Beach, on to Bowie and then end up at the 5 Guys in Edgewater. I've got a gas stop at around 55 & 90 miles. Kick stands up at 11am. As of today, there is only a 20% chance of rain for Sunday. Anybody up for a ride? Can we get 10 people to show up again? |

The September event would be more likely for me. The West Virginia Buell weekend I believe is the weekend of the 14-15 and I'm going to try to make that one. |

Changing a belt should Not be too difficult, I may have to replace a fuel pump, I may document a belt change while I'm @ it. I'm trying to figure out now to change the fuel pump without removing the swingarm. |

Ras, I helped Mike change his belt. It wasn't too difficult, however, we didn't put the belt guard back on the bike. It was a real PIA...had a million screws. His bike is a R and has the 03 type belt. I know my bike doesnt have that complicated belt guard so it would be easier. |

headed to fredrick HD/BUELL this morning to 1 take a nice ride and 2 to pick up a t-shirt. 2 light before i turn into the dealer lot the bike is getting squirmy. pull into the lot with a rear flat. this is not good since it is sunday and i am about 40+ miles away from home. walk to the back where the service dept. is located and to my surprise it is open. one better is there is someone there that can replace the tire. one better times 2 is they actually had the corsa three in stock so 40 mins later new rear skin and t-shirt and i am off to enjoy the rest of my ride. a little pricey experience but worth it in the long run. turns out a chunk of glass was the culprit. so cudos to fredrick HD\BUELL for a job well done. thanks |

Ras, I was out for a late afternoon ride today, and stopped by your house on a whim. Saw your bike out front but no cars. Rode all around your area looking at houses for sale. |

Bill, Brian, Rick & Ron, thanks for coming out today. I wish you could have done the whole ride. Since it was just Rick & I after St Leonard, I took A couple of different roads and found some good twisties. I'll have to revise the ride now. Dan, as always, thanks for the moral support. |
