jackie, They are fun to watch, but they sure are putting a hit on my fish. They catch more than I do.The pond is right off my deck and they are close enough to hit with a rock. It's as much fun as fishing myself. |

Hey man, Birds gotta eat too. LOL I had a pair living down at the river years back and they were awesome. I was fishing one time and watched one come down on a carp. That freakin thing swooped down bout' 20 yards in front of me and snatched that thing up. That fish was so big the bird kept dropping it on the way to the nest. It finally got it up there and we watched it rip that poor ole' fish up piece by piece. The whole event lasted about 45 minutes and was one of the neater things I've seen in nature. I say enjoy them my friend cause thats about all you can do considering they are federaly protected. |

Jackie, You'd be proud of me, took one of the grandsons fishing today.Eight years old, caught his first fish.We caught 9 Brem and 6 Catfish. Brem were good size, but the catfish were only about 12 to 14 inches. He keep me in stiches and we had a ball, but dang it was hot. |

That sounds like an outstanding day Charlie! I am looking forward to the day I have grandkids I can take out fishing, hunting and such. My kids used to enjoy it but they have both become too interested in being girls to have time for that kind of unimportant nonsense. Did you keep any of them kitties to fry up for the young lad? A day fishing and then a fish fry with Grandad sounds like the makings of some very good memories for a boy. |

Jackie, After he named all the fish he caught, are you kidding. We had them in a water bucket, but it was sooooo hot they were starting to die off. So after a long talk we dumped them in a friends pond. And he was cool with that. After watching four or five that didn't make,he started talking about cooking those. I couldn't get him to keep his rod down when he was reeling him in and he would get the fish to the shore line(rod straight up) turn and run dragging the fish behind him. He caught his first and fifteenth all in the same day.....that's probably not a good way to start. |

A few pics of our sojourn. We travelled 4575 miles in 18 days through ten states and three Canadian provinces. Saw lots of rain and wildlife; including 5 black bears, a moose, a bald eagle, porcupines, seals and the rest of the more common critters. NUTS

Nutbag, There is no orange and black in those photos. I am disappointed in you man. What happened to that irresponsible young lad I once knew? He has grown into a miserly old man! Charlie, I would have loved to have seen that youngster running up the bank with his little fishing rod and a fish bouncing along behind him. I bet that was hilarious! You really gotta learn how to use a digital camera man. |

Tank, the Uly and I have split ways but I'll make someone a great deal on a "spare's and ware's" package. Laminar lip, 10k mile belt, new front wheel bearings, clutch lever, touratech shifter, front and rear axle sliders, Odie's heat blankets and a few relay's. I am really sick and tired of going through the madness of wanting new bikes every so often. So I went ahead and bought the bike I think I'll be able to do about any trip on. Cross country on the highway, Alaska, Dirt to Colorado, you name it. For what it does the Buell is a wonderful bike, but longer trips in summer temps with a healthy dose of dirt thrown in and it was getting asked to do more than it should. The excessive heat under the aluminum tape lined seat, the bearing failure scare and windblast at speed were enough to sway me. I did give that bike a healthy workout before I traded it and I assure you no one has ever left a dirtier Uly at a dealership. I had gunk caked on the rim 1/2 inch thick. Welcome home bro. Sad that you used up a Uly along the way, but I understand the cravings... |

It wasn't used up but would certainly benefit from some TLC. Front brake was pulsing like a jackhammer, muffler was rusted and flaking paint off and the airbox cover decal was coming off. The decal was due to the "buell" logo tankbag. I got flamed from a few on the Uly board but that's alright. I know I gave the Uly a fair shake, twice! NUTS |

Thanks Jim. In the past week I have managed to ride my two bike's, my brothers new KLR and my pops' old BMW. I like riding and most of the folks on Badweb do too. I'll have to see if I can get down to Kristi and Carlos' cabin here soon. I just went by it on a 180 mile coffee run as a matter of fact. |

Nuts, I can't keep up, what are you riding now? You need your own TV show, you could rival the philanthropist. Only with more motorcycles.I don't know how you can swing all that travel, but I'm loving it for you and you need something that is going to stay under you( although all of them have their problems)Keep them wheels turning. |

Charlie, His current ride is a Vespa scooter. When he rode by the house I thought he looked like a monkey humping a tricycle. Actually I haven't seen the boy in ages. Seems the passion for motorbiking has consumed him to the point that fishing and other such outdoor endeavors have been removed from his spirit. Then again he could be going and just not inviting me. |

Look who's back in town. The 'ole Turtlehugger back form redneck heaven! Charlie's old friend Todd is selling an awful nice KTM 400. Just got himself a 990 Adventure and BMW X-Challenge. And you folks think I'm bad.. Sheesh. NUTS |

Nuts, After his stint with airplanes....I think Todd's wife doesn't mind a bunch of rotating motorcycles. You need to get your buddy Jack back on track...seems he lost his head for awhile but finally got it back....I saw where he had it bolted back on. You still haven't said what your new steed is, lets get a look. |

Look who I ran into today while out playing on the dualsport. Charlie, the other toy is a 2008 BMW R1200GS. Air/oil cooled with a shaft drive and tubeless spoked wheels. Still trying to keep it clean but give it time. NUTS |

I'm with Charlie.. That pic must be fake...twice. Pops "old" BMW is a fine steed, and that new blasphemous alien of a motorcycle couldn't be any worse. Very Nice! |

Well I got no new bike to show you guys but I did receive a box of rare goodies this evening. The plane from Cali touched down at 7:23pm and I watched them gently unload my crate. Proceeded to the Delta counter and signed for my box and carried it to the car with great anticipation. When I got home the cages were all set up so I unscrewed the lid and removed it to discover the animals were packed in styrofoam lined inner wooden box. By this time my excitement was mounting and my heart was pumping away as I tore away at the packaging to get to my prize at the bottom of the box. FINALLY I removed the last bit of packaging and there staring back at me was four of the prettiest little Gila Monsters I have ever laid eyes on! I gently placed them in their new enclosures, put in a pinch of snuff and spent the evening watching them explore their new surroundings. IT WAS A GOOOOOOD DAY! |

All in due time my good man. Just fed them their first meal since they got here and they were none too shy about scarfing down their little mouse with me watching. We still on for Thursday??? Eagle Eye Annie is itching to get out there and do what she does best. |

Yep, I went for a little "adventuring" on the Roanoke River. We hopped the rocks from the BRP up to the dam. What I saw makes me never want to buy a plastic bottle again. NUTS |
