I've got the paper copy of the sport rider with the tire test. The test sucks. They didn't do enough work on wear and pretty much everything is "Moderate" wear. There really wasn't much science to it, they just threw a bunch of tires on and rode. |

Can't make the meeting today, but I did swing by gators. Guess the rain held everyone off! Someone take notes for me please. Not a lot to say, plan the sunday ride, update hells canyon and laguna group rides. Sounds like mark wants to push a group track day I vote for June can't make May. T-hill in oct may make for a hell of a food group road trip. I'm still waiting to hear about how track days felt. I'll be at the wong ride tomorrow. |

Spent the weekend putting my bike back together. Here are the results:
Powder coated: wheels (and pinstriped), brakes, CrossRoads' fork brace, rearsets, and pulley cover. Also had my handlebar risers done. Added a K&N, opened up most of the airbox, and modded the exhaust for freer breathing. Midrange is much better and it growls a bit now. Threw on some Avon Viperstrykes for good measure. |

Took the pick before I was totally done, we got her buttoned up good. Then only thing we couldn't get figured out was the rear brake. Had three people take a look at them. Bled 'em, pumped 'em and tried everyones ideas. Not sure what's going on...shouldn't be rocket science but apparently it's above my pay grade. Any ideas would be helpful. I hope it's the best Blast in town. I plan on going over to a few of the Rider's Edge classes and show it off a bit. Maybe I can steer a few undecided people into picking up the Blast once they see what can be done with it. Next up: CR fairing and mirrors/signals, integrated rear brake/signals. Then by next year I hope to get the CR tail section on there...we'll see. |

It would really clean it up if you had the headers ceramic coated and the muffler painted with high temp. |

Looks like I am two weeks out on my bike now. Brake line is back ordered and its worn to the point that its not recommended to ride. Plus side is that I am getting the new 09 IC unit to take care of the condensation plus the clutch cover kit to stop the weeping issue. |

So are you taking the day off for this Dave? It's a little too big of a group for me. If anyone is going have fun. I will be sticking to a much shorter route myself. |

This is a long time traditional ride. You don't know the route until sign up. Lots of people but, you can ride at own pace. I'll be working Sat. and plan to ride the short loop on Sun. with Buells. |

Saw two XBs today riding to Corvallis for Oregon Vintage Motorcycle show. An XB9SX with Hero Blue plastics was heading north from Corvallis, and a black XB12S was parked at the Benton County Fairgrounds during the show. Beautiful day for ridin. Hope everyone's out there. Rode the XB9S today - what a fun mini bike. |

You gonna have to upgrade to a full size bike. LOL Yeah I made it out this morning for about 1.5 hours running across some local back roads to see how the new clutch cover was holding up. So far so good. |

Missed Sat with a case of the crud from a week driving all over CA. Did get out today and hit back logging roads from Battleground to Washougal River - great day! Xbs - both headlights are working just fine also! |

Got my new tires mounted and found out that front tire had a slit running a cross it. It was 3/4 of the way through the rubber. Yikes. Needles to say I had to have the tire removed so I can return it to motorcycle superstore for credit. |

While at hillsboro motorsports getting my tires mounted yesterday I saw this. Looks to have a kawi front headlight assembly mounted on the Blast.

Anyone gone from Yamhill to Tillamook via NW Oak Ridge Rd/Trask river RD? Is it paved all the way? http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=h illsboro,+OR&daddr=45.3443249,-123.2541297+to:Till amook,+OR&geocode=%3BFUTmswIdj0qn-Cl_BKz3KDqVVDEw7 WXnKMMbEw%3B&hl=en&mra=ls&sll=45.555165,-123.41587 5&sspn=0.392338,1.057434&ie=UTF8&ll=45.355523,-123 .244972&spn=0.196864,0.528717&z=12&via=1 I though a bout it today but decided to play it safe since I had my wife on the FZ1 and no GPS. I ended up just taking 6 to 101 and then over to Miami river rd and 53. It was fun. 53 is just a blast and riding two up it really tears up the tires. LOL Stopped at Camp 18 for lunch. Pretty good place. (Message edited by xbswede on May 25, 2009) |

Aron - sounds like a trip tomorrow, I have it in my GPS and will give a report after I get back - paved or gravel either way. Finished the house repair crap today. 7:30 am from Vancouver if another rider (gravel/dirt may be in play) is game. Late notice but I will check in the morning just in case. I think it is partly gravel but not sure. I was going to wander tomorrow - now wandering with on a mission. (Message edited by nwforester on May 25, 2009) |

The picture says it all - turns to gravel, then to gates.
Ended up trying two other routes, they ended in gates also. Hit the Air Museum before taking the Wheatland Ferry across the Willamette to avoid the trafic jam on 99. Guy on a Harley said SW Bible Creek road out of Willamina is paved the whole way and is a "screamin road" - Even the SR71 is faster in black!
