Hey folks Chuck here from Thunder Tower, Buell. I wanted to let you guys know that we will be at the Sandhill Village Friday night with some bikes and give away items. Time 6pm til 10pm across from Wildwing. I know I've met some of you when I worked here before so hope you can stop by and say hey! I'm just trying to show the public the brand and get the word out. I was also wondering if any of you can ride this Monday up around the Highlands or in that area. I might make a trip to the Gap and back so I will be leaving early. If you are interested give me a shout back. I got me a new CR I want to try out. By the way the guy here last weekend with the CR and that "BadAss" Jardine can sounded sweet. Sold a 1125R Sunday and the guy ordered the same thing thanks. How do I get a shirt? Anyway talk with you guys later! |

Hey Up4it, here's a thought for when you sell a bike, that is if you haven't done it yet. When you get someone to buy, tell them about this site and get them involved. They can learn a lot and get in on some rides from time to time. It would be a great thing to get a large gathering up and just have a good time talking and riding. I don't know if it would step on any toes with the dealership, but it would be just like getting all the harley guys together, except for that network is a lot more known by most all people. As you can tell, we had a small get together last weekend and had a great time. I need to come by and get me a new shirt from yall too. Has the display there helped inform people better about the bike? Also, has there been any thought of the advertisers of TTHD to include Buell in their commercials? I see a lot of harley bikes with people on them twisting the grips, but there is still no mention of Buell on the TTHD commercials. This may help get the bike out there to sell unless Buell just wants to keep it like it is. |

Oh yeah, Up4it, I am not going to be able to make it for a ride on Monday. My work vacation time is limited, and its just too late to take some time. I have just about used it all up for the year. Maybe sometime if you dont have to work all weekend, but being in sales, you probably have Monday's and something like Tuesdays off too, when the rest of us are having to work. A bunch of crap huh. Oh well. Don't get me wrong though, I would really like to go though... |

I feel your pain, Matt (intake leaks + owner neglects to buy seals). I've been playing CSI-mechanic with your Kooks exhaust bracket's demise. : ) Believe first clamp failed with vibration-cycling-cracking at stress-hardened steel. Hardening resulting from steel clamping ring sharply bent at right-angles to fit both sides of its bolt-up point. One side probably failed first, then the other, grief stricken, quickly followed. Imagination active, also dreamed-up an improved bracket/hanger for its muffler. Comprised of two matching brackets of twisted steel strap and two XB-style muffler clamping-bands. |

Your pretty good, one side did fail first, then the other. Im going to give the shop that cyclonecharlie works in a call, and hopefully ride it over there and see if we can get something a bit stronger fabed up. |

So, I just wanted to put a plug in for Thunder Tower Harley/Buell. I took my bike in for it's first service yesterday and had a great experience. I met just about everyone in the dealership. A guy named Chuck (Up4it on here) talked to me for a long time while I waited. He showed me around the dealership where I found they have a lot more Buell stuff there than I thought they did. I met the owner, Gene, and his son, Chris, who are very enthusiastic about Buells. They spend some big bucks on the Buell display in there and it's still growing. They've got an actual Buell tech in there, not just some Harley guy pretending. Chuck introduced me to Mo, a guy in the parts department. He actually had a set of high-rise bars for my CR in stock. He said he tries to keep at least one pair in stock. They've got t-shirts, patches, stickers, watches, pens...all kinds of cool Buell stuff. On top of that, not once was I made to feel unwelcome simply because I ride a Buell. Actually, quite the opposite. I don't know how many people complimented me on my CR with the CF Jardine. The even did a wash and a complimentary 4th gear roll on the Dyno afterwards (I've got the printout, I'll scan it in later). Anyway, I'm not trying to sell them or anything, I'm just saying they took great care of me, much more than most Harley/Buell shops I go into. I was impressed. I went back this afternoon and picked up the new bars. Hope to have 'em on by the end of the weekend. Chuck - thanks for helping me out while I was up there. Tell Gene he's doing a good job. |

E-mailed a parts list to T'Tower yesterday AM. Ben phoned within an hour to finalize order and shipment to Greer. New red 1125R there, too ... |

Dittos on Thunder Tower from me. When I started looking for my Ulysses, the local dealers around here told me I'd probably have to go to Greenville or Atlanta to test one - there really wasn't any demand for them in the lowcountry. I heard that the "new" dealer in Columbia had a couple and when I got up there, they were super nice - and professional. Like Guell, I just wish they weren't so far away for my service work, but to be honest, Tripp and Mike here in Charleston have been super to work with. |

Yeah, I actually picked my bike up at Low Country when I got here from England. They were just the "middle man" acting as the delivery point, but they were great. The problem was they had NOTHING as far as Buell paraphernalia goes. I talked to Mike, I think, and I dealt directly with Steve Hays. It was a pretty good experience in all. |

IIRC Steve used to own and race Buells. He likes Buells and likes to talk about them, I just get the impression he's not very positive about the market for Buells in Charleston. |

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Hey, has anyone here used ECMSpy, or attempted to? Since I just got my new pipe on my bike (CR) I'd like to get it tuned. Preferably I'd rather someone else do it, I just don't want to screw it up but I'm willing to try ECMSpy if I have to. Does anyone know of someone that can do it, and is good at it, or is anyone willing to help out with the ECMSpy part? |

I have ECM spy but so far I've only used it for TPS resets and for accurately setting the idle speed. I won't be much help with maps, I've done a good bit of work with an older Motec M4 on an FSAE car but I doubt that would help much on ECM spy. But if you want to borrow the cable and give it a shot, let me know. -Patrick |

Hey guys, The ride up the the Gap was great! The 1125CR was Super Fantastic! I told Eric the guy that road with me after we crossed the GA line it was time to Rocky Road... The bike did great handled perfect, no slips at all. The only problem I had was at about 5,000 RPM in mid corner the bike would just shut off for a sec and then come back. SCARED THE "CRAP" out me the first few times it happened. Not sure what it was but the guys are going to look at it for me and see if they can get it to do it again. We put in just over 300 miles from 10:30 to 5pm from the Exxon in Wahalla. I was not the only Buell up there... I saw a guy on a BLK Ulysses. When I parked at the Gap for a burger there was few guys checking it out and talking about it. Lucky for me I had the tires CHEWED up pretty good! hahaha. I will be headed back up there for the Triumph RAT Raid at the end of the month. Gonna ride it again and put in some more laps. Later, Chuck Thanks for all the reply's its good to be back in the motorcycle group! |

We're going to plan the Sumter area ride this weekend. It will more than likey be around Lake Wateree, stopping for lunch and then by Thunder Tower H-D. I'm guessing it will be close to a 3 hour ride. Let us know what weekend works for you guys, it would be cool to get a large group together again. Up4it - The 1125R I had for a few days gave me the same scare when hammering through a turn, thought I was a gonner.... |

Patrick - I might take you up on that offer to see what I can do with it, I'll let you know. Thanks. John - the first weekend I'll be able to do the big Sumter ride is the weekend of the 26th. Chuck - that's odd about the R. I've never had any such problem with my CR. Let me know how it works out. |

I was told today that it has been fixed! There is a ecm download that fixes it that our guys did not know about. I have been the only one to complain to them, two day turn around not bad for them I think. Anyway I will see if I can make the ride. Later |
