I’d like to thank everyone for the excellent ride today. I don’t get to ride with so many Buells that often, so it was really strange not hearing my own bike in the crowd. I was telling Jason that there are even more twisty roads on the “downside” of Caesar’s Head. Next time I’ll have a better, less traveled route that will wear you out,... in a good way. To tell you the truth, I’d forgotten how much fun it is to ride with good people that share the same interests. Come up with a date for a ride in Sumter and I’m there! Or anywhere else for that matter.

that was a ride well worth the trip, while I didn't go the distance like matt did, I did cover 380 miles and it was so much fun I'd do it again in a heart beat. it didn't take as long as I thought to make it around the mountains, next time I'd be willing to go deeper or ride around through it again. Hugh, we just went up 276 , 64 and back down 178, most of the group split off and took 11 back to Greenville, I stayed on and made my way home. eventually I'll post pictures |

Yep, it was great ride but my wrist is still sore today. My first investment will be the throttle locker. Thanks for the part number Don. |

Hey Matt Im sure you already know but there have been plenty R's in the classifieds, but you may have to travel some. There was on in Charlotte that I wanted but dont have the money for it now. It was a black 12 with the amber and a jardine. Dont know if its available still, and it may still be a little early for ya. Oh well, you'll figure it out!!! |

Thanks for the heads up Darren, im undecided. One hand i want to tear the bike down to the frame this fall, get everything back to new and have a nice reliable tuber. I know i dont want to do a 550 mile day on a firebolt. I would hurt haha. Im hoping kooks can hook me up with something better. |

Hey Matt, yep...that's the one. Here's the part with number Don sent me: Vista Cruise 074045 I ended up just doing a Google search for it and Cycle Giant came up. I should have it in a couple days. I think I'm going to try it out with my Clubman bars still on before I change them to a high-rise bar. If it helps out enough I might just leave the Clubmans on there. We'll see. I'll let ya know how it goes. By the way, here is the link to the chopper kit we were talking about that just needs a Buell donor bike to finish it off: http://thekneeslider.com/archives/2008/09/18/buell -conversion-kit-from-fusion-motorcycles/ I love the way it looks. It's just a matter of finding that donor now. Hopefully by next spring. |

oh ok, i love the way that bike looks, kinda like a confederate. I thought long and hard about parting out the cyclone to build one. When i eventually get a 1125, i think i might. Ill let you know if i see anything cheap. Yea let me know, i saw it said for single cable throttle assembelies. Im sure it wont be hard to install though. |

Yeah, it kinda does...just without that f'd up front end they have. I like the way it looks. If I'm not mistaken it still uses the donor bike's front end and still has a really steep rake angle. The bike should handle really well since it will have a much lower center of gravity. |

I had a blast yesterday. I don't think I've ever put that many miles on a bike in one day. I normally go for short rides. I'm definately up for that ride again. I spoke with Nelson tonight, he hates that he missed the ride, but he's anxious to map out the ride for the Sumter area. I look forward to riding with you all again. Take care. |

Notta problem on the "parts pickup", Matt. Did not know exactly what it was at first but for sure it was once attached to your bike. Was surprised it was still in the lane and not in the woods. I know the cagers behind me thought I was nuts Might be... Yes the throttle lock really helps when riding a distance or when you need to scratch your right cheek or extend a warm, fuzzy one finger salute whilst smashing the horn button w/left hand all at once at speed. Guys, don't forget that you will have to trim the throttle grip a bit if you use the bar end mirrors and the Vista Cruise. Be careful. Guys and gals, I am considering getting an internet company, with which I have done some prior business, to print up some WHITE ONLY T-shirts with our SCBR logo on them. The logo, as seen at the top of this discussion board's page, is located on the LH chest area and the words 'OWN THE CORNERS' is printed underneath the logo. I believe I can get them printed up at a total cost of $5 each with shipping included if we meet up sometime for a ride and I hand the shirt over to you. Otherwise shipping to a mailing address would be additional. There will be a bunch of LG, some XL and a few XXL sizes in the mix. If there is enough interest, I will proceed. If there is not enough interest, I will hush about it. I have looked into making sure I can have this logo printing thing done without breaking any copyright or trademark laws. I was told that as long as there are no profits from the sale of these printed shirts, it will be OK. Gimme a shout via PM if you please or feel free to discuss it here as well. Picture to follow. Charlie, Ill let you know, is the shop open on the weekends? Im dog sitting for a friend in west ashley right now so i dont have the bike available. Getting some rearsets for the bike so i dont scrape pegs anymore. For dirt cheap as far as rearsets go. I can sell the banke shifter, and make money after i buy the rearsets. |
