Rooco, I have some of the extra paint for the race bike. I will be happy to give it to you. I can't believe you won't be at homecoming. It won't be the same without you. I guess it won't be "the same" anyway, so I hope you will have fun in AZ. Next time you are going to be in the area call me and we can get together. |

Nothing that we're not already aware of but here's the "Official" announcement from Buell. Sam East Troy, Wis. The instructional sessions will be conducted by experienced professional riding coaches Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill and will be open to all intermediate and advanced riders in attendance. Limited on-track demonstration rides will also be available. The dates and locations of the combined Buell/Sportbike Track Time events are as follows: * Carolina Motorsports Park, Kershaw, SC, April 25-26(prior to Barber AMA race) * Barber Motorsports Park, Leeds, AL, May 8-9 (immediately following AMA race) * Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI June 8-9 (immediately following AMA race) * Mid Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH, July 20-21(immediately prior to AMA race) “Buell could not have partnered with a better organization than Sportbike Track Time to bring to life the incredible experience of track riding. And with the addition of our intermediate and advanced riding instructors Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill, riders taking advantage of their free service will undoubtedly come away with a greater appreciation of sport riding and how Buell motorcycles enhance that experience,” said Gene Ostrom, Director of Strategic Sales and Marketing for Buell Motorcycle Company. “The presence of Buell and the additional training program offered by Nick and Ken represent an outstanding opportunity and value for Sportbike Track Time riders. We are confident this program will be well received and appreciate Buell’s commitment to improving the track day experience of our participants,” said Monte Lutz and Bonnie Strawser, co-owners of Sportbike Track Time. Instructor bios: Two decades ago, Nick Ienatsch began writing about riding techniques, lessons he then put to good use as a successful professional roadracer. When Freddie Spencer formed his world-class riding school, Ienatsch was hired as lead instructor, a position he held for eleven years. Nick races a Buell 1125R in Colorado and writes for Cycle World magazine. Northern California resident Ken Hill comes armed with race-winning track credentials and years of instructing at the Freddie Spencer School. Hill puts his vast knowledge to use, coaching riders at his home tracks and is a test rider for Road Racing World magazine. Founded by visionary motorcycle designer and former privateer racer Erik Buell in 1983, Buell Motorcycle Company, a subsidiary of Harley-Davidson, Inc., produces sport motorcycles, motorcycle parts, accessories and apparel, including the 1125R superbike, the 1125CR Café Racer, and air-cooled XB-series Ulysses, Firebolt, and Lightning. Mike, I would really like to meet up and do the Slimey Crud run with you but I have to opt out of this one; my riding level isn't even close to what is needed for managing those roads up there. Instead I am opting for a poker run in Joliet, IL. which happens to fall on that date. I am considering for the end of season Slimey Crud run though. I will be out riding Sunday just trying to vie for a good hand during the Poker Run. Talk to you NEXT Thurs! Kurtis (Message edited by m2epyonpilot on April 30, 2009) |

I didn't want to make the run up there by myself. I found some guys riding up to North Chicago so I rode with them. The weather was awesome! The next time I ride, I want to ride West. The roads were packed with cars. The guy I was riding with is a weaver and I learned alot about weaving. Trial by fire. Last comment and I will stop: I thought the club would use the Badweb more than they do. Maybe everyone is out of time. |

All, I wish I felt comfortable enough to do the 'Crud run but at the time I didn't feel I was ready for it. I made the most of the day though; my dad and I went to the Will County Sheriff's F.O.P Lodge 94 Poker Run out of Budzzz in Joliet. It ran from Joliet to Minooka, Seneca, Wilmington and a few other places out in the sticks. It was a lot of fun and packed with an estimated 300 to 400 bikes on the run. I few sport bikes and one other Buell were out there, we distributed club cards to them so hopefully we'll get some new members. Look forward to meeting with all of you on Thursday. -Kurt |

All, The small turn out at last nights meeting didn't deter us from coming up with some important changes and updates to Windy City Club's schedule. Most important is our June meeting has been MOVED to Wednesday June 3rd same time (7:00pm) at Illinois Harley. The decision to move the meeting is to accommodate the inclusion of visiting the Great Lakes drag strip in Union Grove, Wisconsin on that Thursday prior to the Buell Homecoming. In addition after the June meeting there will be a post meeting club ride to a destination TBA so riding in weather permitting to the next meeting would be beneficial. Coming up Sunday, July 12th there will be a early brunch ride to Starved Rock that is effectively being called the "Starved Brunch Run" with more info TBA. All will be receiving a group e-mail from me (Warbirdz81@aol.com) just re-iterating these meeting minutes. Thank You and ride safe, -Kurt P.S. I will be attending IL Harley' after hours dealership ride this month on the 27th; probably next months too but if anyone is interested in meeting me up there I'll be there so just throwing it up for anyone. |

Fellas, thinking about going to Homecoming on Friday and coming back the same day. Most likely will take 47 (I live in Aurora) into Wisconsin. Any better route than this? Would like to do the whole weekend but $$ and family will not allow at this time. |

4Cammer, I am tentatively going to do the same thing on Friday, as I have a teaching assignment scheduled for that following Saturday and Sunday, and as of this post no one has offerred to cover the 6th and 7th for me. I also live in Aurora and Rte 47 is one way to take but it can get congested, like any road in IL is not. I will try and have a detailed lay out from other WCC'ers that have gone a little further west parallel to 47. So as of this posting, count me in for the ride up on Friday. Keith Kraehmer |

Keith, Allen and any one else planning on going. We have a 9a departure planned for the FRI. morning of Homecomming. 47 and Jerico if that works for you both. The route runs just a little west of there, traffic has been very bad on 47 historically. Can meet you both along the way. Sorry you can't stay for the entire event. |

Lastcyclone, can you let me know where and what time the meet point will be, and I will make sure that I am there. If at all possible please let me know the route so I can map it for the return trip home...I get lost in my own home. Keith K, I am off of Eola and New York, let me know if you want to meet up to ride out to 47. Thanks Fellas! |

Hey all; Remember our June meeting has been moved to WEDNESAY JUNE 3rd 7:00pm at IL Harley. To facilitate those of us that are going up to homecoming early for drag races Great Lakes Dragway. Tonite (Saturday May 23rd) at 7:30pm I will be racing in Team Demolition Derby action at Route 66 Raceway. I'm racing for Team#4; "Smash, Bash, and Crash" as car #41. The event should aire on Speed next Fall or on Comcast SportsNet. Sorry about the way to late notice but I was only hired on the team at the weeks start and I've been busy getting my cars ready for tonite. To 4cammer, I'd be interested in riding up for homecoming on a one day only trip leaving Friday. I'd really like to show off my new tank graphics; which sadly are already bubbling a little... Decals just don't stick to Buells. |

All, I know I said that I would take part in the dealership ride tonight but I'm going to cancel out on that for this month. I'm not sure the weather will cooperate and something else has also come up that I can't miss. Hope to see some of you next Friday for the ride up. See you soon and ride safe. Kurt |
