After a nice little ride over the Nestucca River Road from Beaver to Carlton, the headlights of my Uly were completely obscured by mud. The mud, as Uly riders know, is flung forward by the front tire and arcs upward so it's right in the path of the bike. Yeech. Something's got to be done about the lower fender on my bike. I'd like to try fitting (with cutting/trimming) another Buell's fender to the front. Anybody know of an available street-style XB fender? |

Welcome to the PBR board. Sounds like you had some fun. What are the options of possible making a bracket to allow the fender to sit lower or move forward? |

XBswede, I've been playing with lowering the "bill" from its normal mount on the lower triple clamp to somewheres nearer to the rubber, but no current structure on the front end suggests itself. The fork tube protectors/existing fender mounts are tough plastic, but their edges don't extend in enough, nor high enough, to attach the bill. Building an aluminum bracket that would attach to the normal lower fender mounting holes will require either slotting the fork tube protectors' plastic, or some fancy bends in the aluminum, or both... I've put a plastic "mudflap" on the aft edge of both the rear and lower front fenders, but the same technique doesn't look promising for the front of the front fender. Ideas are welcome! |

Hey Ya'll! I live in Ashland, but am in Portland quite a bit for work. I'm coming up on my 10k service on my Uly and wondering... Does anyone have the ability to do a TPS reset? I'm doing most of my own 10k service, but I don't have the cable or software need to do it. I'll be up there on Sunday for a week. Thanks a bunch! Tom |

Tom, I can do a TPS reset as long as its not an 08. It only takes a few minutes on a fully warmed up bike. Aron 503 504 3568 |

Had another great Uly ride yesterday. Last minute notice that BMW of Tigard had a ride to Astoria. I went to crash their party. It was a good ride after the rain storm blew over. The route was the back way to Beaver. A rider on a new K bike slid off a corner. Only some scrapes to bike and pride. The sun was out along the coast and made for enjoyable riding up to Astoria. Once again it proves how good the Buell compares to other machines. |

Been way too long and dormant, got my new 08 Uly and am getting my "legs" back under me. Any Uly riders around that are up for rides? - after being ran off the road last Aug and left by the culprit, I suppose some of my exploring would be best not done alone. |

NWforester: Thinking about a lap of Mt. St. Helens this Saturday. Up the freeway to Hiway 12 in Washington, then over to Morton, then south (ideally on some gravel, but I have no idea whether it's still snowed over up there) behind the volcano, and curve back around to Woodland. Guy I work with (KTM) is planning to go, and has a 3 p.m. appointment in Portland, so it's gonna be an early roll. Want some? |

Sounds good - early is great -I am honestly a forester so early am is usual. I suspect the main routes around the mountain are snowed in so we may have to wing it (the best rides). |

Re: Ride Saturday, April 18, 2009 I've been trying to coordinate time&place with my Beemer-riding co-worker, but can't seem to hook up. And a rider coming down from Puyallup has cancelled. So I'm making an arbitrary decision (hope it works for you, forester): Rosie's Restaurant at 7:30 a.m. 1245 Lewis River Rd, Woodland, WA Hava pancake then head east, up to Cougar then N/NW from Cougar on F.S. roads, looking to intercept the Kalama River Rd. off the shoulder of Merrill Lake. Might be short, but should be passable. Extensions on the fly, natch. The "One Lap Of Volcano" will happen later this year. And hey, anybody else -- if you don't mind a little rain and gravel and mud, see ya at Rosie's. |

Too much snow and a huge chunk of FS road 57 out of Chelatchie Prairie was gone. At least we got a little dirt on the bikes. We did talk about long weekend run to the Steens at some point this summer??? |

I was just told about PBR and wanted to say hi. I purchased a used 06 XB12X and love it. This is my 1st Buell & I love riding it. Unfortunately being deployed on and off throughout the year I dont get to ride much, but will be home July/Aug and plan on getting some good rides in. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hooking up on some rides. |
