BTW Here is the video. I need to figure out a way to keep my underwater camera from flipping forward under the recoil of the gun. http://s244.photobucket.com/albums/gg11/xduckcomma nderx/?action=view¤t=BigAJ.flv |

Yeah, you're right, you should be able to ride as fast as you want on public roads. Speed limits don't apply to sportbikes, didn't that stupid cop know that? Why didn't he just sit there and watch you break the law, instead of doing the job the citizens who live in the area paid him to do? Grow up and quit whining. You're lucky he didn't take you to jail and impound your bike for reckless driving. Do the crime - pay the fine. Signed, A former Buell-riding piggy. |

Now there's a Kodak moment Most of the "piggies" I've encountered are fairly forgiving if your a little over on a country road. But 90 in a 55(and it was probably higher than that)is just asking for it.Save it for a track day, there easy to find and a lot cheaper. The "Sport bike " community doesn't need that kind of heat,we need to keep a good relationship with law enforcement and the general public so we can do what we all enjoy doing. |

Buddy of mine is up there now. Says it's the first time he's been to Bike Week and seen hotels along the "strip" with vacancies. Combination of economy and the hype around the "Biker Stay Home" policy the City of Myrtle Beach has adopted. Horry County says c'mon up! Matt, just found out I may be headed to Raleigh this weekend and Mobile, AL for a few days after that. Should be back by Memorial Day Weekend. |

Anyone know if the Buell Demo truck is coming back to the Colonial Mall in Myrtle Beach for Memorial Day Bike Fest this year? I went last year and had a blast riding all the Buells and was hoping to do it again this year. I hope the City of MB didn't scare them off... |

My work bud spotted a black Lightning in front of the shop (Hwy. 378 and I-77 in Columbia, SC) yesterday evening. Most interesting feature about it was a set of cow horns mounted up front. Whom might that have been? I want a picture of that!! |

Okay guys, who is in.... I am seriously thinking about heading up to the upstate for a full day saturday and find some twisties. I dont have a route yet but am searching for some roads to ride. If there is anyone who would like to make a day of it let me know and we can meet up. If there is any upstaters that want to attend and have the knowledge of some roads up your way that are really nice then join up and let me know and we can meet in Greenville or Spartanburg, whichever is best. The weather, even though it is a few days out, is looking great. I am trying to get a few guys from Sumter to ride as well, we will see if they have the time. Let me know if you can attend or post some possible routes. I want to leave early 7-8 am if possible but if there are any low country guys that want to ride I will wait for a bit till you get closer. I personally am only making a day of it. I am going to spend the night in my own bed so not staying anywhere else. This will be my last opportunity to ride on a trip as a bachelor, and since she is going to be out of town this weekend, I am going to seize the moment/day!!!! |

Darren- Man, I'd love to head up but we've got company coming in this weekend. Must ride roads- 276 out of Greenville up to Caesar's Head. AWESOME twisties for the climb up the mountain but it can be saturated with cagers. AWESOME overlook at Caesar's Head; it's a very nice place to hang out for a while. Continue on to Brevard, NC. Brevard is a good place to catch lunch; it's a college town so there are plenty of restaurants. From Brevard, NC you can keep going north on 276, up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (great twisties on 276) or head directly west. From Brevard, take 64 west 8 miles over to Rosman, NC, get on 178 and head south towards SC. This may be the best road in SC. About half-way down, WATCH OUT for a blind hard left onto a narrow bridge immediately followed by a hard right. Even when you know to look for it it can be a real butt clincher. Take 178 all the way down to highway 11 and head back east to Greenville, or head west ~40 miles to Walhalla, SC and take 28 north to Highlands, NC. 28 is also a great road, right up there with 178. 130 and 107 are other great roads nearby. I agree with Hughlysses, 276 and 178 are both must ride roads. Depending on how early you make it up to the area I may be able to come for part of the ride, but I have to be in Cola by that afternoon. I'll also mention 215 if you want to slow down the pace for a short while. It goes between 64 just west of 276 up to the blue ridge parkway and is a nice ride while not quite as twisty as some others. |

Can do! I'm flexible timing-wise (already here). These guys know good roads. Old Hwy 25 through Greenville's watershed and on to Saluda, NC, is distilled motorcycling joy. |

Hey Scott, if you already know of some GOOD stuff then I may just meet you and follow you around or someone else, that is if you dont mind. I havent finalized a time to leave yet but am hoping to leave by 8 AM at the latest. The yahoo maps shows about 1hr and 40 mins from Columbia to Greenville. If you know of a good place to meet, then let me know so I can find directions. I will be traveling up 26 to 385 instead of any back roads, so time traveling will be faster. Hopefully will be there by 9:30, but definitely by 10. Also Hugh's route may be the one to take. It doesn't really matter where we go as long as it is a great time!!! |

Meet-up location: jail's parking lot. I-385 into Greenville, downtown. Highway ends/becomes East North Street. Jail's located at that transition, after Stone Avenue, and on the right . Massive gray blockhouse looking building. |

Hey Matt, I want to meet up about 8 am and then hit the road. Going to meet others at the 111A to Lexington exit off I-26 at the Lowe's parking lot at the first light. The ramp is a wrap around so you will have to go under the interstate. If you dont, then you went the wrong way. If you are a little late, then I of course will wait. I will PM you my # so you can call me if you need to. If you need a place to stay, my door is open but all I got is couches and recliners. New house with out a guest bedroom so far. |
