Was he here in the valley or up in the frigid Highlands? I have yet to see one of my legless buddies this year so your sighting is welcome news. May you be blessed with good juju for rescuing him from an untimely demise. |

I can hear two gobblers from the back porch. I'm going to get on them. Wish me luck. NUTS |

Nuts, Heard two myself this morning and got 1 Jake to cruise by about 45 yards away on the backside of the honey hole. I snapped some shots but the brush was so thick the focus was thrown off so I trashed them. I did get this shot which I am well pleased with.

Jackie, Very beautiful shot, but you need something in the shot so the eye can have reference, even if it's out of focus. Something on the horizon like a treetop or mountaintop or something.... Since the Badweb has been updated, I must post this again..
15 miles...it's raining down there somewhere. One more...
Name that show!!!!(my new favorite! ) |

Thanks for the input Tank! I purposely took the shot like that to give the appearance of flying through the clouds. Notice how I used a slow shutter speed to blur the clouds on the right to give the illusion of movement? If I would have had landscape in the photo then I'd be flying too low. I have quickly found on my new home forums that photography is in the eye of the photographer and only limited by ones imagination. This has led me to try and get out of the mindset of framing photos that can be achieved with a point and shoot camera. |

photography is in the eye of the photographer and only limited by ones imagination. Very true! Not everyone sees stuff the same way. And(speaking of point and shoot) I can see where better equipment on the magnitude of what you are using would allow someone to see things in a bit of a different "light". (did I just make a photog. joke?? ) Always wanted to dig deeper into the world of photography, but could never justify the expense, and there always seems to be something else that I just have to have. Keep up the good work. brutha! |

Got the gobblers fired up but they must've flown down to some hens. I worked 'em for an hour and could've intercepted them but that'd be trespassing. Given the problems we have with that, I am unwilling to throw that stone from my glass house. Good to know they are here though. I'll get back on them sometime soon. Jack, when you want to go for a yelp, yelp, cluck, boom of our own? NUTS |

Tank, I don't blame you for not digging any deeper. Its an addiction that knows no end. I snapped last night and ordered a macro lens so I can delve into the miniature world. I forgot to add in my last post that your pic is quite nice! Nuts, They are there and appear to be quite horny. Perhaps we can give it a go on Wednesday. |

Nuts, You missed a good one. Arielle went with me and we found this handsome fellow. Then I let her drive around the club for a spell. We saw 3 gobblers and I have her as a witness.

Thanks Jackie. I have an old Minolta Dimage Z1. Impressive for the day, and still today the other companies are "introducing" features that this thing was made with in 2003. Sort-of like the Buell... http://www.steves-digicams.com/2003_reviews/z1.htm l I didn't realize until today, how badass the camera really is, when I read the above review. OK, The girl is from the show Legend of the Seeker. http://www.legendoftheseeker.com/ You can watch all of the previous episodes online. I did. It's worth a look... p.s. start from the begining or you will be lost (Message edited by Tank_Bueller on April 19, 2009) |

Tank, Its time to go full on DSLR. Come on man you need it and you know you wanna. I know your a gadget man so why not treat yourself to a brand new toy that will give you much enjoyment or lots of heartache when you fail to make it perform like you know it is capable of.

I'm guessing you found Mr.black rat by the 400 meter range benches. The gravel looks familiar. In the first shot you can almost see the full spectrum of his eye color. Now get to it, "Reptile Quarterly" needs some good shots. Tank, step away from the TV. Don't you know that stuff'll rot your brain. Isn't there a motorbike in the shed that needs some love? I took 'ole Huckleberry out for a short ride yesterday. It was a short day because I couldn't get over the feeling that I was going way too fast. I was running the speed limit everywhere, but not having been on the bike for a week I just didn't have it dialed in. I need to get my a55 in shape; I leave for Maine in 4 weeks. NUTS |

Dang guys! Actually, for my next $1k(or so) purchase, I have been throwing around the idea of building a Home Theater PC! (to compliment the new 37" HD LG lcd ) Then I could watch all sorts of shows, movies, and junk for free, and surf the net as well, from the comfort of the recliner. And, the Minolta is a DSLR(technically).... ..that happens to be 6-7 years old, and only 3.2MP. But it does what I need for now. |

Alright Tank let me throw a question out for ya. I want to get a new desktop. I already have a nice monitor and speakers so I just need the CPU. I need the following, 1.DVD burning capabilities 2.Firewire and USB 3.Enough memory to store ample photos and video without having to worry about lag. 4.WiFi card installed 5.Mulitmedia card reader I don't game but do want the ability to have nice playback for home recorded video. So help me out here. What am I looking for, where should I be looking and whats a rough estimate of cost? Help a brutha out here man. |

Here's what I came up with really quick. Ground-up build, selecting the components I would use(I already have a couple of these in my current computer), No operating system. about $400 plus Operating system. Basic barebones kit (with sweet Dual-Core processor) CPU fan Firewire card Built in card reader/writer (I have one, works great) All-in-one CD/DVD burner (have this too, works great) Wireless-n Wifi card (really want this in my comp) ....OR... You could get something partially assembled, just add Hard drive, OS, and DVD drive like this....(or call them and they will add the goodies for you!!! ) Pre-assembled kit p.s. As far as the media slowing down the performance, the best ideas are: 1. partition the hard drive and store the media in a different partition than the operating system and programs. 2. put your media on some sort of external hard drive, that would likely use a Firewire port for faster file transfer. I think I'd bite the bullet and pay someone local to build me a computer. When it crashes or freezes they'll be infinitely more helpful than tech-support by phone. Even if it costs more...it's worth it. Pops came down yesterday and I was able to find him at Otter Creek. We blasted into the Star City under a cloudless sky with temps in the 60's. Good day for riding. Heading over to RVHD/Buell today to schedule my 10k service for next week. They have 25% off of total work orders until 15 May. So I get 25% off of labor and parts! I'm getting the 10k which includes the fork oil change, new bearings front and rear and I'll have them throw a new belt on. NUTS |

Jackie, I have had nothing but the best experience with TigerDirect.com. As for assembly + software install, you will have to call them to find out how far they will go. I personally have never had to actually call them. I order my parts and they get here quickly and undamaged. I even ordered the 37" LCD from them. Double boxed with extra packing between the boxes. UPS couldn't possibly have damaged it, unless run through with a forklift. Nuts is likely right about the support end of a computer like this, though. Meaning not much if any. But, It will not have any of the "junk"(un-needed/unwanted software) that you get with a computer from a Big Box type store, and without all that CRAP that they put in there, there is less possibility for conflict between programs unless you create the issue yourself. In which case, you know what you did and can fix it fairly easily. Give em' a call! Can't hurt. |

Got to try the new macro lens. The snail was a good little fellow and held still for his session. The Widow was back and forth so I couldn't get her dialed in as well as I wanted but still a neat photo. For reference the snail is about as big as a pencil eraser. You guys love the thrill of riding the motorbikes to the extreme so you ought to give this a try. Get 6 inches from a potentially lethal creature and then take your eyes off of it while putting your finger even closer to trigger the shutter. It'll give you a little tingle I assure you. Thats the kind of adrenaline rush I like

crickets....... I am in the throes of bike swapping. I should know by now. Must be something in the air; maybe all that pollen get's my head spinning and looking for more motorbikes. My evil Father took me into a KTM dealership on Thursday and I haven't slept since. There sat a gorgeous 08 990 Adventure in all of its orange glory. Before I knew it I was asking trade values and finance options. Come to find out I actually owe less than the uly is worth. Whouda thunk it? But the wife says it is time to be responsible and I must agree, it is killing me! I have been through four cycles of "all about it-over it" and each one is picking up intensity. To attempt to quell the desire, I took the Uly out for a ride today and it promptly roasted my right leg and buttocks. NUTS(up to his usual tricks) |

My Garage! But really, I got it at Lowes or Home Depot. Should find it in the HVAC section. It's REAL Duct tape. Comes in a roll just like regular tape, but it has a paper backing you have to peel off cause the junk is soo sticky. You're on your own with the right leg roast. I just hang my leg out in the wind, away from the frame. |

Dropped Huckleberry off today for the 10k+. Watched a 17' canoe get pushed under a logjam on the James Rivah yesterday. Happened to be a former Buell owner went along with it. That was quite a scary thing; of course I have pictures. Better get that Photobucket account going again. NUTS |

A flat on the top of Poor Mountain resulted in me having to tow another rider down the mountain. The DR-z with two grown men and tires sporting 14 psi each was an adventure alright. I was laughing my head off with the thought of it all. I'm glad it was his DR-z with the flat and not mine. Off to go camping in the am. You folks mind your P's and Q's. NUTS |

Always run at least 18-20...just because... Fellow Bueller/salesman got "runn-oft". Home from the hospital with broke lower left leg. I'm off tomorrow so I will visit and offer services. Don't know where the bike ended up? Might have to go find it.... |

Took a break from the creepy crawlies and decided to try a person. My 14 year old was the unlucky participant. She doesn't like them but I think they turned out fairly well. Nuts, Thanks for visiting me in the hospital man. Dude's got heart issues and you don't even come visit. Wearing the monitor now and get to do the follow up cardio stuff next week. Growing old is AWESOME man !
