I'm in for "Thunder and Lightning" on May 9th! That is, if we're doing a one-day - up in the early morning, back in the evening. An overnight may not work, but is still possible. |

Does anyone in the club have either of the Buell tank bags (standard or deluxe)? I'm looking for a tank bag and having done what research I can it looks like the Buell bags are the way to go (at least for the tank - I'm looking at the Cortech sport saddlebags for the back). But...I can't decide between the standard or the deluxe. AD Farrow doesn't have any in stock for me to see in person so I can compare and contrast between them before I buy one. If anyone has either or both so I can see their sizes and how they would look and fit on a Lightning that would be great. Thanks! |

I've got the standard one... You can check it out at the next COBRA meeting or sooner... |

Thanks Mark! I'll check it out at the next meeting in 2 weeks. Maybe someone will speak up with a deluxe and I can see them both together at our Bike Night meeting. |

DOH!! I suppose I should have spoke up sooner when I first started looking at them. What was your experience with both the Buell and the Cortech saddlebags? Did you like them? How about you Mark? I guess my biggest question on which Buell tank bag to get is whether the standard is big enough to hold my wind/rain jacket liner, an extra visor, my iPod, and a softball glove. If the standard won't hold all that, then I assume given the dimensions that the deluxe will, but...I'm concerned about the "look" of the bigger bag. Thoughts/suggestions? |

So Neil, we on for riding up to Western Reserve on May 9? I can't make it up the night before so I'll have to do an early morning up and ride. We taking back roads (I hope)? Is anybody else in yet? I think Mark mentioned possibly going. |

I really would like to attend. Unfortunately, I will be out of state on the 9th. Teach will do a great job and I am certain I could learn a few things from everyone else. Jim Rose |

From my house its 180 miles. We would need to stop for gas around 100 to 120 miles into the ride. That is if everyone has a full tank when we leave. Lets say kickstands up at 0630 at the Flying J across from North Star. Come early if you need to eat and fill up with gas there so we are all on the same page when we start. |

Works for me! 0630 at Flying J @ NorthStar. In the interest of full disclosure, while I have a little over 2,000 miles under me in the past 9 months, I haven't ridden over 40 miles at any one time - nor in a group of any larger then 4 people (not counting the short ride from Mellow Mushroom to Quaker Steak). So I'm a total newbie on a 360 mile round trip. This will be a new experience for me - one I'm definitely looking forward to! btw - would I be showing too much newbieness or geekness to ask where best to read about group hand signals? Thanks for the information. The longest group ride I have been on was to Mid Ohio, so this should be a great experience. |

I just have a quick question about Western Reservoir riding. How will the riding be like? nice and slow riding? or fast and hard riding? How are the roads? twisty? |

The ride there is all freeway, I'm sure the ride they are putting on will be nice and easy. Dealers don't like for their guest to get hurt so they tend to keep the riding simple. I will keep the speed going there to around 70 or less.... we don't need any performance awards |

I have to do a one day trip regardless, so we should all talk about this at the 2nd meeting here on the 6th. But can we get a headcount so far? |
