Hey- Was anyone out riding in mid-SC yesterday? I made a quick run up to Boykin, SC (between Sumter and Camden) to snag a photo of the Boykin Mill. While I was there taking the picture a few minutes after noon, I hear a rumbly V-twin in the distance and a few seconds later, a guy blows by on a yellow XB9S. I thought for sure it was Badwebber Rcontroler, but I PM'ed him and it wasn't him. Anybody here? BTW- the photo was for a thread at advrider called "SC Tag-O-Rama". Someone posts a photo of a location showing their bike with a few hints. You have to figure out where it is, ride to the location and take a photo showing your bike there, and post it before anyone else. Then you post a photo of your bike in a new mystery location and so on. A bunch of guys up around Greenville have been posting photos for the last few weeks. Finally, a guy from Columbia (riding a BMW sidehack IIRC) posted the photo of Boykin Mill which I recognized. It's a pretty cool concept- it gives you a good excuse to go for a long ride (about 240 miles yesterday for me!). |

Good evening ladies and gents. I'd like to introduce myself here, and tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a 23 year old student, and I recently bought a '03 xb9s with 15k miles. From the first time I heard someone describe Buell I knew there was something special about them. I was right! I love my Lightning, and I'd like to learn more. I live downtown Charleston, so if you guys ever get together for a ride let me know please! I'm a little disappointed in the roads around here, not enough curves! Ciao, -Miro |

Hi Miro, welcome to Badweb. We haven't had many group rides but we're overdue to have one. Curves are few and far between in this part of the state but there are a few if you know where to look. |

Miros, welcome to the board. I ride my Buell downtown almost everyday for school. Give me a shout and we will ride out for a bite and/or I can show you the two curvy roads in Charleston. Don;t get your hopes up though, they are not all that great. There has been some talk about getting a ride up this Saturday to hit one of those roads. Not sure if I am going to make it or not. Sorry you already had to vent on the site. That dude would not be able to see through his swollen eyes tonight if he did that to me. |

I have a borla muffler sitting in the garage, cf too. Borla used to make a full system for the tubers, i have never seen one though. Its not the system im using though, i bought it to resell Its actually a brand new kooks system from kooks custom headers. Awesome guys to do business with. I bet the dawg was having an awesome time. Looks comfy in that pic. Now all it needs are those goggles or if they make little helmets for it then that would be awesome!! would just hate to catch a bug in the eye |

Welcome Miros, hope our little place is good for you. this group is long over due for just a random get together. How about after I get back from the beach, lets say mid may? maybe somewhere central to the state we could meet this time? I modded my exhaust a few days ago, the poor mans way. Primarily because I wanted something a little louder but nothing like an aftermarket. so I took a sharp chisel and in 5 minute put a hole in the exhaust pipe in the rear chamber. adds a few decibels in the low rpm rumble, gives it a nice sound. now I finally won't few like its a weenie bike when a harley pulls up, it didn't modify the sound at high rpm open throttle, just down low where it needs it. its nothing like a drummer or a Harley with a V&H. its probably not loud enough to get me bothered by the cops but probably enough to piss off my neighbours when I leave for work. and its a stealh mod, unless you look in the exhaust with a flash light you can't see any holes! and its not loud like a drummer which makes your head rour in your helmet |

"...lets say mid may? maybe somewhere central to the state we could meet this time?" Yep on a meet-up. Read of long-bit/extension to drill hole(s) in baffles via muffler's inlet & outlet. [No motorcycling today for this gardening flunky. She's planning, so I'm standing-by on a pretty day.] |
