Have any of you guys ever been to Riders Resort in Ducktown, TN? A buddy of mine was just telling me about it. He lives in Cummin, and said that he knows the owner. May have to check it out. The web site is ridersresort dot net. |

Hey guys. I was checking out the MythBusters on Wed. There was a Buell in the workshop! Unmistakable. Just got done at a NESBA track day at Road Atlanta on Friday. What a nightmare. Rain on and off all day. Even did a half lap in hail!! Dried out on the last session. I need help! 1:Working out this suspension. I traded my shorty CG for a regular length set. The bike feels totally different. I wasn't able to experiment much because of the rain. I get head shake now exiting some corners (glad I got a stabilizer) and the back end feels really vague. I started with factory spec for my weight and worked a little up from there. I also get that nasty stand up under braking. Really nasty in fact. The CG never really stood up on me. Also she really resists turn ins and she hates to change direction. Not very Buell like at all. I must have something very wrong. Maybe I should just go to Traxxion ....with this many problems I may need a specialist. 2: Fuell map tuning. I put a Micron system on after my last crash. I got a map from AL that works pretty well, but it could be better. What shop would be be Buell and ECMSpy friendly near Atlanta. I can really hear a lot of clattering now. Plugs look good. Pulls like a damn V8... I know the engine is noisy, always has been. It just seems more so. I need another set of ears. The Buell got a lot of comments from a lot of riders. Even a few control riders stopped by. One even admitted proudly he rides a 03 9R on the streets and loves it. I want to help out with you race guys. I am up for pit duty, just tell me when and where and I will try my best to make it. I need experience I need to check out some WERA races before I try one myself. I am hoping to enter the Road Atlanta race in June. Not sure what class(s) yet, still need advice. Whats up New12R I am ready to get those parts. |

Fran_dog, I wish I would have checked this earlier today because I went riding all over North Georgia. Were you able to ride? Is anyone else up for a ride tomorrow (Sunday)? I plan on getting out and riding at some point, so hit me up on here or give me a call at 863-634-0824 if you're interested in riding. Ryan |

> ....with this many problems I may need a specialist. There's no substitute when it comes to suspension. I had problems with my Ulysses not wanting to turn in, so I had an ex-racer friend look at it. He said the rear suspension was too soft. The back end was squatting too much, which raised the front end angle, and altered the bike's rake. We set the rear preload as high as it would go and dialed in some more compression damping, and it make a noticeable difference. Whereas before I'd be mid corner and have nothing left, the bike will turn in tighter if I need it to now. I can also get on the gas sooner without it pushing to the outside. This is the same guy who worked on my GSX-R. I had the same problem (pushing wide in turns), but the issue was completely different. On the GSX-R, the front end was too stiff. Two bikes with the same problem and two completely different solutions. That's why you really need a pro. |

I want some V, but I will be out of town. I'm heading out to Florida for the weekend with my new girlfriend Thursday night. Hopefully she isn't a serial killer. If I don't post back up by Monday, tell the police to look for my body in the Clearwater Beach area. |

Ok so Chagerty has called dibs on the last 2 paintball coupons, but that doesn't mean you can't come play too. Come one, come all! And yes, there will probably be a few 12 year olds with sub-machine guns ready to annihilate the big slow adults. Think of them as Charlie. Charlie as in Viet-Cong or Charlie as in New12r, whichever works for you. As for the V, I'm not sure my Uly will be back on the road Friday but it may be. New Energy-One clutch kit is arriving tomorrow, just gotta slap it on. We'll try to make it if possible. |

Tim, always careful. Glitch and I were about a 1/2 mile from not Dales in a gentle right hand turn when the bike just moved over about 8 inches, wobbled to get back to straight and was fine. I was hootin' and hollerin' in my helmet! |

Hey all. Thought I saw someone asking about a ZTL2 upgrade. Just wanted to let everyone know that I just completed that very upgrade with the help of Al at American Sportbike. I was having some serious issues after my right-side crash at Road Atl. My Master cyl seemed OK.....But caused some serious problems at my next track day at little Tally. I started the day with an okay lever feel to almost no brake pressure after the pace picked up in session 2. A quick lever swap in the pits lead to (almost imperceptible) brake drag, causing a complete brake lock up after 1 lap (scary) I looked at Brembo masters of all sizes and rare ISR masters.... after much research into the unique needs of a Buell, I went with a Nissin 19mm radial master and the ZTL2 caliper with EBC racing compound pads. My XB12 is Track only! This new brake set up stops like a brick wall. A few laps at Road ATL to bed in the pads and on the next hot lap, I almost launched myself over the Bars coming down the back straight into turn 10. I cannot recommend this mod for the street. Just breathing on the lever causes violent stopping. I am not sure if the street pads might be a little more sane as I haven't turned a wheel with them. Also the ZTL2 almost doubles the weight of the brake caliper. Strangely not from the bare caliper itself (Eric's boys did a great job making that part as light as possible) but from the 4 heavy pads that are loaded into the sucker. Both the race pads and the stock pads have massive copper backing plates. Must be for heat migration. The damn thing is so heavy, It affects damping rates on the right fork leg. I do recommend the Nissin 17mm radial master with the 6-pot ZTL. BTW I have a set of Lyndall gold pads for the 6 pot ZTL with about 100 miles from before my race only conversion. 20 bucks. Good progressive feel. I also have a set of the 09' version stock 8pot ZTL2 pads completely band new Nissin HH. Say $50. Any one need some new pads? |

Digital- I will buy those Lyndalls from you faster than you can blink an eye! Mine are almost done and as I read the first part of your post I was thinking, "Man, I'm gonna have to get new front pads soon...maybe I'll try the EBCs." I've got the Lyndalls now and I can't complain much about them. BZZZZZZ! Can I call dibs on your set? PM me your address and you'll have a crisp 20 in your hand lickity-split! |

I've tried and retried (x100), searched until I am ready to slam the laptop out and I still can't get ECMSPY to work. I recently bought a used Ulysses and it's running lean. I have a custom map from another member on the board but I can't get it on the bike. Anyone in the North Ga. area that has ECMSPY that would be willing to help? I'll pay you for your time either cash or your beverage of choice. |

All - feeling a little down, missed a chance to go riding up the blue ridge parkway today and tomorrow. A friend and co-worker from MI came down over the weekend on his gold wing with some other riders and is riding back to MI by taking a few days up the blue ridge parkway then heading north. I talked about going, the boss gave me the time off ( and said it sounded like a great idea ), the wife was ready but I basicly backed out on excuses. To much money, yad, yad yad. upshot is I could have done it if I had decided to. Time for a new strategy. less excuses, more riding. Better yet. NO excuses, more riding. |
