Yep I was at the host hotel. Parked my S3 to the right of the wash tent most of the time. Had a good time, just wish I'd got to the engine factory but it gives me a reason to go back again, like I needed another reason.

Got a new one in Horseheads.
At the moment trying to figure how to get the Ulysses off of the truck.
Don't want to pop for a ramp will use one time & don't trust these old bones to keep it balanced while I run it down a 2X12.
May take it to the farm & use farm equipment to lift it.
Keep posting

Thanks Lazylion - got it off
God bless NY politicians - get 3 snowflakes & we get 40 tons of salt.
Took for a short ride & needed the leaf blower to get the salt off.

Just checked in again. This area has been so dead lately haven't bothered to open the page.

My Uly is slumbering, not quite ready to call it hibernating yet because I keep getting the itch when the roads are clear. If my steep, ice-capped, gravel ingress (AKA driveway) was a bit more accessible I would definitely be in for a spin. I can get out but I'd never get it back home again as it stands now.......

I concur with you Savage, too much bloody salt spread in this State. I take it you're a fan of the Savage 99?

Ranger
How you doing ?
My riding season got cut short after the ADV Relay. I was hoping to get out more, but work etc.. got in the way.

I rode my Uly during clean days early this year and washed it carefully after each use. I discovered a lot of corrosion in places you just can not get to with out disassembly.
Let that nice bike sleep,
But yes it will be a long winter

Fall is a busy time of year for me, personal and professionally, but did get some quality time on the Uly.

My driveway (slope & ice)and dirt, hilly seasonal road (now solid ice) put riding out of question this time of year. If I manage to get the bike out of the garage I'd never get it back again. Even if the low roads are clear and dry. Oh well, if I really feel the twitch bad I'll just break out the DR and run it up past the "Seasonal Use Hwy No Maintenance...." sign. I find it hard to walk through the garage w/o looking fondly at he Uly though, dreaming of Spring.

Time to break out the skis.

It would be nice to revive the CNY Buellers next Spring for some GTG rides. I generally prefer solo riding but Buell owners seem to be such interesting people(particularly Uly riders) that I always enjoy meeting them. Pulling the Uly into the Dinosaur and parking in the chrome sled line is priceless............."I like your Beemer"

Take care all and Merry Christmas.

I'll be joining the CNY Bullers!!
The Army is sending me to Ft Drum!

It's good to hear that the Uly guys like to ride up there. I'll keep an eye on this page come spring to catch up with the Bullers of CNY. Maybe the ULY guys could get together and ride the "ULY trail" Homer, NY, Ulysses, NY, Ulysses, PA.

I lived in SYR before I joined the Army and looking forward to being close to home again.

As for the Beemer comment, The dealer there in SYR asked me if I was "looking to trade my Beemer in for a real bike" when I pulled up on my ULY this summmer!! I think I'll never go back there to buy a bike. He had 3 ULY's on the floor and couldn't recognize one in the parking lot. But I shouldn't judge a shop on one guy.

Yeh, Ulyranger the Savage 99 had something that I never will - class.
Just look at it & think of rich guys drinking good rye in a fine Adirondack deer camp after a day of hunting.
Forward thinking design - Could have been an automatic - the 300 Savage was the 7.62 NATO before there was NATO
Mother is going to wrap me in a wet sheet. Not enough snow to Xcountry & too much salt to ride. Getting cranky

Welcome back home Rotorhead. That Syr dealer is where I bought my ride from. They have actually treated me very well. They sure don't "feature" Buell there, though they aren't hidden in the back either. The sales staff that I dealt with weren't extremely knowledgeable about the Buell line but did work to get me into the bike I wanted. The service and parts guys have been excellent to deal with, a few of them actually ride Buells.

Maybe I'll see you in the Spring, 'cuz unless it's got tracks & skis it ain't going anywhere right now.

Thank you for your service. (my bro has 18 yrs in the Army, now an E9 at Bragg)

Hey Savage, I think you should have enough snow to break out the skis now.....

I'm a lever fan too, don't have a savage in the collection yet. Couple of my partners up north do though.

Anybody been out yet?
Ulysses fired up on first hit. (Good thing w/ electronic everything not sure where I would have started tweaking.)
Not much of a ride tho-, too much gravel on secondary roads around Horseheads.

I got the Uly out three times in February, only missed Dec & Jan since I picked it up in April 08. There were other days when the roads were clear I would have rode if I could have gotten the bike back up the hill........

Hi, I spent last Sunday doing chores and then got the bike out of hibernation (off the stands, uncovered intake and exhaust, checked battery). Just as I finished up it began to pour. So much for the ride. Anyway, I went out today for about a 25 mile ride. The bike started up and ran with no problems. Probably shouldn't have gone past that sheriff in Nedrow at about 70 (he was parked in the rink parking lot), but he didn't show any interest thankfully. Still a lot of salt and gravel out there so be careful.

Went a little way thru Finger Lakes National Forest but still a lot of stuff on the roads around there.

Ulyranger,
I live outside of Syracuse, 2 miles from Chittenango Falls. Good riding out this way. Rt. 13 South into Cazenovia and then East/West on Rt.20 ,or keep going South on 13 towards Cortland. I have an S-1 in the Garage, but mostly ride My Road Glide Anymore. Looking for an excuse to pull it out of the Moth Balls.

Ulyranger,
Thats my bike and old Bronco. I'm staying with my inlaws for a week then headed up to Ft Drum. Now that I'm back in NY I'll be around the area allot. I have some land south of Toggenburg in Cortland county we are using as a camp and weekend getaway from the Army.
I love the Rt. 13 ride out of Chittenango goes near my camp. My brother in law took me out to Rt. 51 and it is a great run and a cool little town. riding the Uly kept me from stoping and looking at the antiques along the way on Rt.20.

Roadcouch , You must live very close to me. I live up in Fenner by the windmills, Near Bear Swamp Rd. I run through Chittenango and Cazenovia all the time. I run a Black Uly with Touratech cases. I make a point of running Rt 13 twice a week just to keep my tires rounded.

My brother in-law lives on Fenner road where his neighbors freaking ginny hens are in the road all the time. We used to ride and then go for icecream there in Caz at Cathy's.

Rotorhead, somehow after posting I had a feeling that might have been your Uly. If I'd been able to see the front of it, there'd been no mistaking it.

Sounds like your camp is within spitting distance of me..... You need to give me a heads up next time your "camping", I've got a cold with your name all over it.

I know where those ginny hens are too.....

Rt 13 above the falls rocks, love that run. Lived in Caz for about ten yrs, plus grew up near there and we always tested ourselves on thirteen curves. How we made it out of our teens I'll never know.

Rt51 is sweet too, as is Rt10 out of Sharon Springs a bit further east.

I'm looking forward to this season, though I enjoy solo riding it would be nice to gather with some kindred spirits for some touring and conversation.........

Cheers Buellers

There are a lot of great roads here in Madison County, We need to put a loop together that links all great roads for a long afternoon ride ( Or Workout). Also I like any road that has creek in the name !

There is a road to Stockbridge that is like a roller coaster.
And the return up Peterboro is cool also.

I live below Chittenango Falls where the Curves are more open and the fast boys like to make noise. Weekends in Summer Sounds like Thunder and swarms of bees. I see way more crotch rockets who ride together than Harleys, which is a shame as Harleys always sound better going by. I didn't mention Buells which sound even better, as there aren't that many that pass by. I LOVE the sound of certain Ducati's that come through, also.

Anyone here planning on attending the HOG rally in Binghamton this summer? Silenc3r on here is the events coordinator for the whole thing and mentioned to me he was thinking of throwing this out here. I see he hasn't, so I will.

I can post the link here. Hell, here it is: http://www.nystatehogrally.com/ just to make it easy for you to find.
