Hope you get to go! I have been wanting to get down there for the 200, but have yet to make it. If you find yourself not working saturday, and you also find yourself not working, wanna ride? Kevin, you up for a ride Saturday? Anyone else??? Looks like the weather is going to be great! I will update with a "when" once I figure that out. |

Any chance you will be heading East? I have yet to ride in that direction because of all the exceptional riding we have here, but would enjoy meeting and riding with some other BadWebbers from other areas. I've also been wanting to check out some of those roads up towards the plateau. |

Steve, Our usual ride takes us to Paint Rock AL, which is east of here.. but a hike from La Feyette! We head north from there usually up into Tennessee. It would be a hike for you, although a fun one, to get over to paint rock, but you are more than welcome to join us. I figure it would take you about 2 hours to get there from where you live based on how I go to Atlanta (through Summerville). Are you going to go to March Badness? |

If you know about what time you will get to Paint Rock, I may try to get one or two others to ride with me. I am planning to go to MB. I didn't go last year because of the crappy weather, but hopefully it will be better this year. Xb1200Rick and I have been talking on another thread about riding over together, if you want to join us we would love to have you. (Message edited by Eaton_corners on March 04, 2009) |

Ok.. I didn't have all of the information on the Saturday Tyson schedule... I won't be able to make Sonic at 10. It is going to be a "play it by ear" day... Sorry guys. |

When do you think you will know a possible schedule? My cousin and I will probably ride over your way even if you can't make it, but we wouldn't mind a local tour guide. |

My Wife says she should be back home by 11am. So if I head out then, I should be able to be in Paint Rock by 11:45 or so. Think that could work for you? |

That will work fine, especially if that's central time. Is there an easy spot to meet there? |

Gurley is just a few miles west of 65. There is Hardies right next to a gas station there that we can meet at. Say 12 pm CST? Be mindful of the speed in Gurley, you don't want a Gurley ticket.. LOL |

Hiya Folks! Man... don't log in for a couple of days, and see what happens? Awesome rides are planned out. LOL! Russ, I appreciate you contacting me and letting me know what's going on this weekend. Too bad I'm in Missouri. Then again, I'm visiting my brother just for the sole purpose of he and I riding together. You guys be safe out there. Take some pics and share them if you can. Oh yeah... Gurley definitely loooooooves to ticket. |

Hey Steve, It was nice meeting you guys today. Had a great time! One of these days I'll take a trek out to your neck of the woods for a ride. |

Russell, just got home and sat down on the couch. On the way home as we headed up the Trenton side of Lookout Mtn., Steve decided to pass me, just as he did we met a state troll. Steve immediately backed off the throttle and when I saw the trooper turn off I took off up the mountain. When we got to the top I slowed down to let him catch up. When he caught up with me he passed me and revved the motor, his baffle and packing were gone out of his right side muffler. We didn't even try to find it as it most likely is either mashed flat or in the ditch. Other than that we both enjoyed the ride and look forward to riding with you again. If you do come this way for a ride let me know and I'll try to go. |

Glad to hear that you didn't get any tickets! I bet that BMW sounded interesting with no baffle. Hopefully the motor won't mind that it ran without it. And, hopefully he won't have too much trouble finding a replacement. I had a great time. I just finished looking at the NESBA site, and I plan on signing up for one of the intro sessions at Barber.. probably in April. Thanks for the tip!! |

I can't believe it, Steve found his baffle. It was on the side of the road right next to the asphalt. Other than some light scratches it was okay. Have fun at Barber. |

Yo Russ... Well, I may FINALLY be getting back on 2 wheels. My wife's colleague is selling a'98 suzuk gsxf 600...for the special friend price. While I'm not a huge fan, the price of ~4K (which is relative keep in mind) is right....and I'm jonesing to ride. Can't afford another buell, but a clean ridable bike is better than no bike in my book. Oh yeah, it's a gad awful purple to turquoise faded stripey thing...may have to be ridden completely naked (bike...not rider ) |

Way cool! It is definitely a different animal from the Uly, but as you say, a clean rideable bike is better than no bike for sure! get yourself some primer, and a rattle-can of your favorite color, and VIOLA! no more girly colors on the bike! Although, pulling all the plastics off could make for an interesting looking bike too! |

Well, since Saturday was a great day to ride, and the fact that my brother was in town, we both hit some of the country roads in the Falkville/Addison/Smith Lake area. What a blast. Of course, as you will see in the vid, my brother is quite a bit faster than me. Maybe more than 'a bit', but I still had a great time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZ0cmmOMppw (Message edited by misterx on March 26, 2009) |

LOL! My brother actually held in the reigns that day. He could go substantially faster if he wanted to. Me, on the other hand, am quite happy with the speeds that I go. I'm sure that over time I'll gain more confidence on the twisties and sweepers and be able to keep up at a better pace. Until then, no worries. |

Oh it no big deal. Its probably best to not be so confident sometimes. Sometimes i wish i was still a little scared of mine. |

Heh... yeah. Truthfully, if I ever get a bit on the crazy side when riding, all I have to do is remember the wipe that happened to me 13 years ago. I wasn't going fast or hitting the curves even. A chick with a .07 alcohol reading turned in front of me. Got a bum knee from that and a 13 inch scar. It helps me to remember what can actually happen when I'm on two wheels with no external protection. Besides, it's not so much that I'm scared of my bike. On the contrary, I'm actually more scared of the other fools out there in the cages. LOL! That, and I try to keep a tremendous amount of respect for the curves. |

yes I can see how that would help you remember. It hasnt happened to me yet but im sure it will but i always try to wear all my armor even when its hot as you know what in summer. |

Well guys you wont see me much on the white XB anymore. I broke down and bought the red 1125R yesterday and it sure is nice. It has more power than i would have ever thought. I will have to act right on this one. |
