Dave, I was just pondering this the other day. Of course we will do the Orlando get together again. Hopefully the weather will be a bit warmer this time. I see Donn, Don D. and Martin at Steak & Shake bike nights and Bob D. at the Buell dealership so we'll spread the word in Orl. and LaFayette will help with the BRAG group. SHould be able to get a nice group together. I still have the same bikes so figure I have three available for you and your buds. Frank

Sweet! I'll take the X1 again if that's OK with you. Corey will probably want the Road King. You are the best. I hope the weather is better this year too. Maybe even get to go for an actual ride. Can we go back to the diner we went to last year? Ride to the edge! Dave Iowa HD/Buell (Buell Cycle Center) |

I'll ride the Bourget so the X1 is yours and RK for Corey. Leaves the Sportster for ?? That diner style Denny's is a go for dinner. Speaking of weather, my buddy Ted and I went wakeboarding after work today (almost 80 F). It has got to be warmer during your visit this time around than it was last year. Let me know your schedule, hotel, etc. as you solidify your plans. Frank |

Dave I am toying with the idea of putting Nuke Blue wheels on my bike. Are they still available? How much are they? Do they have to be ordered and if so how long before your trip could I wait to order them? Thanks Frank |

I got this from Dave today: "I am flying down on the 22nd and leaving on the 28th. I'm thinking, for everyone else that maybe Friday or Sat night would be the best bet for everyone to make it. Is it going to be warm this year?" Any input from you guys as to which is preferred: Fri or Sat.(23/24th) for a ride and dinner. Frank

Frank, I plan to attend the ride/dinner and either night will work for me. Also where are you departing from Sat a.m. and at what time? I'm in Seminole Co. but rode with those guys up to Leesburg last year and had always planned to catch up with them again on one of their outings (but always a very early day to get to Lakeland by the "kickstands up" time.) This is long distance planning but is anyone interested in riding up to Barber Motorsports Park, Birmingham, Alabama for the AMA Superbike event May 14-16, 2004. This will be a good scouting trip for the USGP in 2005 and a chance to checkout the largest motorcycle museum in the world. Details are open to discussion but probably leave Wed, ride to AL, get into Birm Thurs by lunch, ride out after the races on Sunday arriving home Monday afternoon. Trip is roughly 600-700 miles from Orlando depending on how scenic you want the drive. (from MotoGP.com) "The Barber Motorsports Park had an excellent year in 2003. The facility hosted two very successful spectator events culminating with the AMA Honda Superbike Classic, which attracted approximately 50,000 spectators. Development of the facility was completed with the grand opening of the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Museum, the largest motorcycle museum in the world. Overall, the venue has received extremely high marks and we are very excited about the potential of this facility. With regard to MotoGP, we are confident that this facility would be an excellent location for a U.S. Grand Prix. We will continue our discussions with Dorna for a 2005 event and hope to have closure in the Spring of 2004." The Bruno Event Team is a sports marketing company based in that manages spectator events at the Barber Motorsports Park.

Daves' visit: I've checked with some people and did some restaurant scouting and think this might be our destination (racerock.com). Lots of motorsports items to look at, all different types of food and ~10 miles from Orlando HD/Buell. West of town too so people coming from Lakeland BRAG will have a slightly shorter ride home. Check it out. Frank |

Hello Scott, that's a grand idea. I need another bike tho, That run is a very nice touring trip..but my current mount is a naked bike that has a 100 mile tank, a 50 mile seat, and no room for my gear. I do like the idea though so, yes tentatively plan me in pls. |

Cool! I hope to get a group of 5 or 6 that want to go but from my attempts last year it's probably unrealistic. I thought I'd start early this year and see what happens. I am cheating though because I bought a Triumph ST with luggage this year so no more soggy clothes in soft bags friction burning against the rear tire. |

For anyone interested in the "Alabama Adventure" the two riders planning to go so far have reserved rooms at this hotel. It's easy access to the path in/out and as close to the Speedway as is still available (and affordable). There are many hotels around there, Holiday Inn is just my preference (H.I. points club covered 9 night British MotoGP trip last year.) Holiday Inn Express BIRMINGHAM-MTN BROOK-HWY 280 4627 Hwy. 280 BIRMINGHAM, AL 35242 UNITED STATES 1-205-9919977 Looking over possible paths early signs look like I-75 to Tifton (to make time) and then Rt 82 to Albany, Rt 80 to Columbus and Rt 280 into Birmingham. Will look for scenic side trips in the months ahead. |
