Hi Everyone. It's been a long time since I looked in on the board and I am sorry that I missed the get together at Duane's. Lots of new things happening. I get laid off on the 31st. Not sure what I'm going to do but I am confident that something good will appear. On the 27th we close the deal on our new home. 2 1/2 acres at the end of a mile long dirt road, yet only eight minutes from down town Poulsbo. You won't believe the size of the shop! We have big plans for conducting seminars on the property. I hope we can all get together this summer for a ride and barbeque. Stay safe everyone, I plan on participating more now that I will be shed of my crappy work schedule. | ||

The fact that I couldn't even if it was warm and sunny makes me itchy... 4 more weeks before I can start putting weight on the foot and I'm sure it won't be too long after... End of April is my goal. Got the Sportster up and running, more or less. Got the Buell down to bare con-rods. I was right that the rubber mounts were failing and that piston slap was happening. Thunderstorm heads are at the shop getting a little fine tuning. Got the differential off the Beemer to fix the oil leak. 1.5 hours at the shop with BMW-specific tools to replace the seal! $25 for a tooth-paste sized tube of "spline lube" to put it back on. Ouch. New tires for Beemer and Buell. Now I'm too broke to ride anywhere. | ||

Cap, that's the next thing on my list! Got Bettie's head into the machine shop. Gona hafta drill out the broken exhaust stud, weld it full, and drill/tap it. Took header to ceramic coater, 'Satin Black' should look good. The damn Buell is rising from her ashes again! | ||

I found some knobbies that will fit on Betty, and that's the only concession I'm willing to make at this seasons juncture. Hey Harv, This whole Dual Sport thing is about expanding your horizons. I found this out 5 years ago when I bought the KTM Super Moto. Got tired of turning around when the pavement ends, thats where some of the coolest stuff begins. Still have the '97 S3 in the garage, right next to the R 1200 GS. Take care, heal fast, Chris | ||
