I'm excited about M-B, glad that SMHD is still holding the event.
I'm broke, busy as hell with Shelley going to school and working a couple of nights giving me extra kid duties after I work my azz of all day. I'm trying to study for the Lee Parks ARC Instructor gig. The test by the way is 5 days long from 8am to 6pm. My study habits suck.....
Anyway..where was I?
I had already told Dave and Charlie I wasn't going to be involved this year. Last two years I'm raced the weekend before. I need a break and relax with some friends and just ride whenever I want with whom ever I want.
Just talk to Cameron the other day, he is missed. Told him it would be cool if Joy and himself could take a ride with us, like the good ol' days. Maybe Joy could even scare the h_ll out of some squid as she passes them on the H-D, lol!
Trying to come up Friday, if the weather is good and I'm not to slammed at work I'm sure I'll take the day off. Won't be spending the night on Friday, I'll be back up on Sat-Sun camping out.
See ya'll soon!
Adam-Becky, Thanks for having us over, we had blast night hanging out, food and the wine was great. Shelley slept till 10:30 this morning, lol!
Nicholas is fixing to make his first own snowball-iceball.
BTW, WORLD SUPERBIKE RACE will be on at 4pm today on Speed
I was so pissed off loading my bike up in the snow yesterday that I seriously thought about just staying home. The weather was great in FL, though, and I'm glad I showed up. I didn't shave any seconds off my lap times, but I relaxed and felt great all day. Things were really clicking well in the afternoon. I picked up speed in 3-4-5 and the Collar Bone Corner, 13. I'm still losing a lot of time on the back straight and only getting up to 4th gear because I'm still paranoid about running wide and flying off the track.
I wore contacts today, and that made a huge difference. No more problems with glasses sliding down my nose or bouncing around.
i'm gonna try hard as hell to show up to m-b. i missed it last year and dont want to miss it again. i got a job at lamborghini atlanta yesterday and as soon as i get my tool box up there, i start. i cant wait. hopefully i'll see all yall strangers soon. hope everyone is doing well!!! p.s. glitch, gary busey is the creepiest, weirdest, most derranged dude in the world!
The / 3% Bragging Rights was the name of our BRAG charter (Buell Riders Adventure Group) when BRAG existed. I'm not sure who came up with the name, but it was one of the founding members. Stone Mountain HD / BUELL, in Stone Mountain, Georgia, was the groups sponsor dealership. The 3% came from Buell sales being 3% of Harley's sales at one point in time. Pretty much once your a 3%er you'll always be one, and if your a Buell rider your a 3%er. It has become a Buell thing. Pretty cool, thanks founding dudes.
Actual 'Letter to the Editor' from the February 5th edition of the Wichita Falls, Texas Times Record News...
Dear IRS,
I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to pay taxes owed April 15, but all is not lost.
I have paid these taxes: accounts receivable tax, building permit tax, CDL tax, cigarette tax, corporate income tax, dog license tax, federal income tax, unemployment tax, gasoline tax, hunting license tax, fishing license tax, waterfowl stamp tax, inheritance tax, inventory tax, liquor tax, luxury tax, medicare tax, city, school and county property tax (up 33 percent last 4 years), real estate tax, social security tax, road usage tax, toll road tax, state and city sales tax, recreational vehicle tax, state franchise tax, state unemployment tax, telephone federal excise tax, telephone federal state and local surcharge tax, telephone minimum usage surcharge tax, telephone state and local tax, utility tax, vehicle license registration tax, capitol gains tax, lease severance tax, oil and gas assessment tax, Colorado property tax, Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma and New Mexico sales tax, and many more that I can't recall but I have run out of space and money.
When you do not receive my check April 15, just know that it is an honest mistake. Please treat me the same way you treated Congressmen Charles Rangle, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and ex-Congressman Tom Dashelle and, of course, your boss Timothy Geithner. No penalties and no interest.
P.S. I will make at least a partial payment as soon as I get my stimulus check.

Chris - I had been looking forward to riding for the last two weeks. then today really sent me for a loop. My company just did a big round of layoffs. Day was tough and just when I thought it was all over .. I still have a job but my co-worker and very good friend was escorted out of the building at the very end of the day. All the other layoffs were in the AM an everyone left all had that wew .. still have a job and a company to work for. Then that .. don't know what to think.
I had a hard time just riding home .. don't think I'd been any good riding to the mountains. What a day.
On a better note .. the "prix" box made me laugh in spite of it all .. though I laughed and then felt a little down about the tax letter .. some things are best not thought about when your in a bad mood.
Hmm, it looks like I have some maintenance to do on the Ulysses. When I flip the ignition switch, the fuel pump runs continuously instead of just priming and then stopping. A bit of searching indicates the problem may be chafed wires. I'll have to remove the pump to find out.
