Well, the KTM went to its new home today. We had some good times on that little thing. Here's something funny: the guy who bought it called me up and said, "Er, what was your address again? I'm on Rosebud Rd, and I don't see you." He drove to Charlie's house insted of mine, lol. He had the address from the BSB thread about Charlie's birthday party and thought it was mine. |

HA HA HA!!! That is funny! Well all Charlie is no longer an auto tech! Our good pal Missing Sunshine called me up and asked if I was still interested in working for APO with him wed. I had an interview today with one of the partners and scored the JOB!! I am very excited, the company is solid and Jim is a very nice guy who I believe will be a joy to work for. HUGE THANKS TO Will for this opportunity, you have made my year! I dont think I will be able to sleep tonight. |

Hey guys, hunting for a new lid and was very close to buying a Scorp EXO 1000. After reading a lot of reviews that were negative I think I might be searching for something else. Anybody have any comments on their current helmet? I had a Arai Freddie Spencer replica back in the mid-eighties that I spent $425 on then and loved it although they seem to be even more expensive now. I don't want to spend half a grand on a dang helmet. Open to all suggestions. Thanks! Gotta go meet Smoke. He bought that S3T from me. He's rolling in in an hour or so. He's got a good collection going on. |

Congrats, Charlie! That is awesome. Odie, my only advice is to measure your head and try on some different brands/shapes. Arai has two different shapes. I had an Arai rep fit me, and I love my Corsair. My noggin turned out to be medium sized when I thought it was large, and it's more round than oval. The only helmet I truly despise is the Suomy. Whoever designed their visor release system should be drug out into the street and shot. It needs a special tool to remove the side plates, and it takes 20 minutes and a bunch of cursing to get them back on. |

The Uly's first mountain ride of the year didn't turn out so hot. I made it about 3 turns up 129 from Turner's Corner (not even to the creek!), and my rear tire lost traction. The bike slid from one side of the lane to the other, caught hard, and I had a nice little tank slapper into the ditch. I made good progress down the ditch for a surprising distance before the bike finally pitched me off. I bet I made it at least 50 feet! What freaks me out is that is have no idea what slid the tire out. It was a gentle corner, and I wasn't going particularly fast or leaned over very far. The rear tire only had highway miles on it, so the sides weren't scrubbed in, but it still shouldn't have lost traction like that. I can only guess there was something slick on the road that I couldn't see. It sucks that I can't even point to a problem and learn not to do it again. Anyway, I'm not hurt, and the bike isn't really hurt either. I lost a turn signal, a driving light, and a hand guard. Fortunately there were several people behind me to help push it out of the ditch, and I rode the rest of the day without incident (albeit, really really slowly). |

Anybody here know who the yellow M2 that I parked next to yesterday at T.W.O. was? It was pristine...I was guessing that it was a BWB member, but I didn't see the rider. Charlie- Congrats on the job, man! That is a great piece of news! Sanchez- Glad the end of your story included, "rode the rest of the day." That would sure enough ruin my ride, too. (Wipes forhead) Whew! |

Odie- I wear a Shark RSI and I know Shred rides in a Shark, maybe an RSR. I love my RSI. It is super comfortable and it feels really sturdy, but is pretty lightweight. I also have the buell helmet with the orange X on it (not sure the manufacturer), but the quality of the Shark is far above. If it fits right, I recommend any of the Sharks. Even their entry model, the S650 i think, is a really nicely made lid. |

Thanks for the input. I wanted a Scorp but the more I thought about the Motorcyclist Helmet Test the more I thought about what was going on my head. I tried on many Scorpions and I think they are very comfortable and well made. I like the EXO 1000 with the pump and visor. I think I may pay a little more for a Shark considering how they rated in the test and all the great reviews I've read lately. I'm still looking around but leaning towards the Shark now. Going to Dothan this week to see what I can find and try on. Stealth- looks interesting but not too complex and 'molecular'. Just the right info to grow some good stuff. |

Odie, Got the RSX Holoyang and got Shelley has the girlie flower looking helmet. They got some great deals out there, just ask about the date it was made. Some of the good deals are because there 18 plus months old. Only thing I don't like about Shark helmets is that the smoke shields are a bit pricey. Paint_shaker, You racing this weekend? I might, got a lot of things going on. I'll know more Thursday. Might just wait until Roebling National in March. Allen, How's the bike doing? (Message edited by shred on February 02, 2009) |

cough cough...Adam. (no worries, buddy ) The bike is running good, man. I rode Hwy. 60 to morganton yesterday with my sister on back, ran great. We did pick up a screw in the rear tire on our way but we finished the ride without trouble. Hope you and your crew are doing well. |

Thanks chris, Bike is running. I had a new T body shaft machined from stainless with a slot instead of taking 70% of the material away. Got freaking soaked on the ride home yesterday too.
