i had a feeling....... lol what do you want to do to it? full yoshi exhaust will run you about $750 bucks...includes header....and thats by far the best exhuast price i can find...its even cheaper than the one i got and its WAAAAAAYYYYYYY nicer than my setup. I like the Bazzaz computer i got for it...i bought both the FI management and the AF managment...cost me around 600 bucks or so. BMC air filter like $75 bucks other than that...seriously....you wont need anything unless you want to put full track plastics on it and a good full set will run between $350-600 bucks... I'd go with something like HOTBODIES brand. Tires....well Michelin Pilot Race Mediums I have heard rock out at MMP...and you can get them for about 300 a set at the track versus.... anything else... oh yea....you might want a scotts damper steering damper eventually...although i have had ZERO headshake yet whatso ever on my bike and I'm 200 lbs, run track suspension settings on the street....and well....im kind of agressive too..... oh yeah...by the way mike... . . . . . . . . .YOU ASS! HAHA Just kidding... FYI: i may only be able to make one track day next season now.... my damn home theater just grew AGAIN....damn obsession is going to kill me... |

i forgot to mention that if it hasnt already been done.....do yourself a favor and at least change the sprockets Down one in front and up 1 or two in the rear....this was by far the best mod i could do to the bike.. |

J, no worries. I am going to put on race fairings, an exhaust and management, and most likely a damper. BTW, what do you think of the GPR unit, it is much cheaper than the Scott's. I'll have to start looking more at the exhausts now, Yoshi huh? |

Man, you guys are making me jealous.. Guess I could make this kawi a track bike, but with only 70hp and being heavy as a dump truck, probably wouldn't be as much fun as the 25R is on the street. |

Nate, you're more than welcome to this FZ6 if you want it. I'ts got around 100hp and 49trq, would get the job done, and for not much coin. |

mike, honestly i dont think its going to matter what exhaust you put on as far as performance goes....the yoshi is a clean easy bolt on FULL exhaust. Either way its going to sound pissed off as all hell. As far as the GPR goes, that is the one i am considering eventually should i decide to get one. I've asked around and gotten plenty of posative feedback from people that have run them. Considering your probably going to really ever have 2 different settings that you actually use...I'd go with the GPR....scotts is pretty overpriced for what your getting and with the GPR you dont have to drill the top triple. I meant to say something like a Scotts...rather than reccomending the Scotts...oops C4bird....I'd take anything to the track that they'd let me LOL its the track... :-) |

The inspection part is what I'm worried about I guess it wouldn't be a bad starting point, but it will be a few hundred $$ in parts just to make it street safe. |

Alright, got the R6 back in one piece, well lots of pieces, lol. I'll start figuring things out in the next couple of weeks. Nate I'd let it go for what I paid for it right now, below $1100. But this thing needs some tlc. The motor, forks, swingarm and wheels/brakes are perfect. It needs a new tank, and frame, and some sort of headlight/fairing. |

Mike...my R6 just sits in the garage right now so if for some reason you need/want one to tinker with or refer to with whatever you want i am willing to let you keep it at your place to reference back and forth to if you need. also i have the complete service manual in pdf electronic format so DONT go buy a service manual. I can get you the electronic file or may be able to print out all 400 pages of it here at work....let me know. congrats on the bike...i know your going to love it once you get it tweaked to your liking.... what color is it.....or was it....lol what will it be with track plastics..... Nate, inspection is basically this... tires: pretty much make sure they arent too close to wear bars and you probably good...although atleast 50% tire would be wise Brakes: more pad is best, just dont be down to the wear marks/slots levers: good brake preasure and clutch action is smooth and retracts back to normal position throttle: rolls to full on and snaps back to zero position easily. NO LEAKING FLUIDS anywhere..... other than that....your not a club racer or any of that so you dont have to have all the safety wiring for oil plugs or any of that. |

Mike here is a link for some more body work. I thought you might be somewhat interested in there STREET kit seeing as how it has atleast one single headlight cut out so you can remain street legal with track plastics...i believe they have a STREET tail too so you preserve the tail light also. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT to make sure you are purchasing the right one if you do. http://www.tobefast.com/catalyst-yamaha-r6-bodywork-c-55496-p-1-pr-4983.html (Message edited by lazyj on December 18, 2008) |

Hey Mike, I may be interested, any chance I can have a look at it this weekend? PM me your number and I'll give you call to look Sat if that works. Yeah J, this kawi is a bit rough, it is roadable, but not very safe, nearly everything on your list needs attention. It doesn't leak, so I guess I got that going for me. |

J, Thanks for the info. I would love to get my hands on a service manual, it would help tons. The bike is blue. Most of the bodywork is perfect, some a bit rashed, and little bits are broken, but not bad at all. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to paint it quite yet. The thing I need right now is a new stator cover and maybe the stator, magneto unit inside. The stock cover is really weak, so I'm looking at an aftermarket one like NRC, Graves, Woodcraft, or Vortex. Any thoughts? Nate, give me a call anytime, two3zero five3eight7. I'll be around tomorrow except from 12:30 to 4:30 and the rest of the weekend as well. There is a perfect frame on E bay that ends tonight for it, if it goes cheap enough, I'll pick it up plus some other parts as well. So we'll see. |

Woodcraft on the stator...i think they actually have replaceable skid plates bolted on to their covers.... http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/Scripts/prodList.asp? idCategory=12855 |

Mike, Got some disheartening news from work last night (unless the economy turns around, things may be rough in a few months). Think I should probably not temp myself with a look Sorry, I feel pretty bummed right now. |

Nate, sorry to hear about the work situation. I know exactly how it feels, believe me. As for the bike, don't worry about it. I'm in no hurry to unload it, though I would like the extra space to work on the R6. Jeremy, I went ahead and picked up an NRC cover. It was half the price of a Woodcraft. Just ordered a battery. And got the bike fired up for the first time, that was a relief. Just need to figure out the stator and flywheel. |

J, I just got home and thought Santa was reading my mind, and knew my address as well. Now, I can go back to believing that there is no Santa, thanks a lot! Seriously though, Thank you. Also, where did you get your 520 kit? I'm assuming that you have Vortex sprockets? I've found one with a x-ring chain for $130, not sure if that is good or not. |

Ha! Im still running the 525 chain with vortex 525 sprockets. I figured i'd replace the chain and sprockets again and go to the 520 after i kill the stock chain. Either way just changing the sprockets is a huge performance gain on this bike. $130 is a really good price it seems like most kits run round $150-$210. also there is a company that makes an aluminum sprocket with steel teeth. http://www.motomummy.com/store/product.php?product id=16292&cat=270&page=1 |

In case you decide the Bazzaz route: http://indysuperbike.com/customer/product.php?prod uctid=122748&cat=30663&page=1 dont forget that if you want the closed loop AFM tuner kit its an extra $310 and i think its worth it especially if you are going to be doing track days and want different maps for different temps, tracks, etc.... i got it just because i wanted something that would give me a new map based on any change i made to the bike like exhaust, sprockets...etc....different times of year for temp. and all that shit...colder times of year different maps than hotter times of year....riding styles...etc... |

Good info there. Do you think I need a new clutch already? haha. If anyone knows of someone wanting a project or some money making possibilities I need to get the FZ6 outta here. I'm just not going to have the time for it. |

No worries Nate. Just let me know. Jeremy, are you still thinking of only one track day this year? I'm trying to schedule things out a bit. Anyone else going to the track for sure? I'll try to make it to 4 or 5. |
