Kaese: Fun ride today! A little faster than I usually ride on unfamiliar roads, but fun just the same. It was nice meeting you! -Tim edited by stringbean on November 28, 2003 edited by stringbean on November 28, 2003 |

I enjoyed it also, I was getting a little cold since I didn’t dress warm enough though. As far a Monday goes with the weather- The last forecast I saw this morning indicates it should be cloudy the remainder of the weekend and any precipitation ending Sunday night. Maybe Monday looks good for American Sport BikeN for riding. Last year, they raffled off a set of decent tires. |

Oconner: Are you going, rain or shine?? The rain's supposed to stop (supposed) mid-day Monday, but the roads are sure to stay wet for a while longer than that. Bottom line for me is that if it rains, I'm staying home. -T

Well, I am not to hip on freeway riding in the rain due to all the idiots out there. I am hoping that the rain will end.... |

I should be able to scoot into work this morning and from what I saw on the radar. They thought that there was going to be one more period of showers during the day today. Most precipitation should be north of the Golden Gate in a line from San Rafael to Santa Rosa, mostly along the coastal ranges. Nothing lasting to long and the roads should be dry this evening. I think it should be OK, time will tell. Call me at 415-503-4879, I should be there all day. If you want to pull up the latest radar and satellite photos in loops, here are the 2 sites I find the most helpful: http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USLocalWide.asp?loc=ksfo&seg=LocalWeather&prodg rp=RadarImagery&product=Radar&prodnav=none&pid=none http://www.intellicast.com/Local/USNationalWide.asp?loc=usa&seg=LocalWeather&pro dgrp=SatelliteImagery&product=PacificLoop&prodnav=none&pid=none

well kaese and stringbean. Its raining and doesn't look like its going to stop. People on the roads were crazy stupid this morning. I have a feeling that the ride should be postponed for safety's sake. edited by oconnor on December 01, 2003 |

I get the feeling I'll be riding over there alone. So, if you change your mind, 415-503-4879 till about 4:45, if you want to meet up. Its about 3:00 here and this looks like the last band to pass over. There is always January 6th. |

It's 3:00 here in San Carlos, and the rain's still coming down (not hard, but falling). Under the circumstances I think I'll pass on this one. I too have no interest in playing bumper-cars with the SUV's on the wet highways tonight. Maybe next month.. -SB [EDIT] 4:30 pm.. NOW it's raining! edited by stringbean on December 01, 2003 edited by stringbean on December 01, 2003 |

Just rode home, Sorry Kaese. What a nightmare the people on the roads are...I saw 4 accidents before I even got to the freeway. On the freeway people were driving in two lanes . Changing lanes all over the place irregardless of other cars. How do people even get licenses? |

Oconner, maybe those double-laners were Illegals. I don’t blame you guys for not going, but there was road spray and lane splitting the entire way across the Bay Bridge to San Leandro. I didn’t encounter many idiots out there, but I feel my day is complete if I can ride one-way to work dry. I guess my idea of rain is being drenched from overhead precipitation; road spray doesn’t really seem to bother me except when it comes to cleaning afterwards. Didn’t trust my forecast, he? I came out pretty good as far as the door prizes go; I accumulated an official Buell Rain Suit, Carbon Fiber Chin Fairing that replaces the black one on the XB, and an American Sport Bike T-shirt. Met another fellow Bueller that lives in Martinez by the name of Jett. He has an S3, he walked away with a Force Header that I was trying to talk him into to giving me for my S2. He wanted it for his bike. His bike is apart now, but he is open for some rides after he gets it back together in the next couple of weeks. They have opened a new website AmericanSportBikeNight.com , and in January it will be XB night. Hope you both can make it then. The Umbrella Girls still have nice bodies.

Kaese: Congrats! Sounds like you made out pretty darn well! BTW... How was the turnout (how many folks showed up on bikes?). I wonder if your stock, plastic chin fairing would fit on a Cyclone? -T edited by stringbean on December 02, 2003 |

Only 4 or 5 braved the ride in. There was about 50 there all together. I still have to use the Blue bottom piece. I think on the XB's everything up there was compacted. My oil filter comes down from the top and the headers are of a smaller diameter. |

[QUOTE] "My oil filter comes down from the top." I wondered when Buell was going to change the filter position to that.. My Civic's filter is sideways like the bike's, dumps oil all over the place when you change it (what a dumb system). I figured the fairing wouldn't work.. Oh well, had to ask. I hear the S-3's works pretty well. -T |

My Toyota is the same way. It is not perfect design yet. They still need to make it at an high point on the oil the oil line. I was going to try to make it to the Dudley Perkins Toy Run tomorrow. Seems they are trying to take the scenic route to Alpine Beer Gardens in Portola Valley. Smudley Jerkins (123 South Van Ness) for coffee and doughnuts at 9:00 leave at 10:30, then to SF General – Portola Valley. Strange group of riders that show up to these things. The Buells get a lot of attention. Received a dark blue windscreen last week, maybe I can install it today. Already put on some 04 mirrors, I can now see past my elbows without moving my head!

Kaese: I looked the toy run up on Google and it said that the run was put on by HOG (Fog HOG).. Can anyone show up for the ride/gift donation, or is this a member only kind of thing??? Are you going? -T |
