Matt, I am not going to be in town for Thanksgiving. Give me a call though, I am really interested in those mirrors. |

Well I lowsided it this morning. Just broke the mirror and footpeg, frame pucks took most the damage, thank god for those. On most normal morning I've got a two mile trip to work, I accelerate fast and take corners fast, this morning I was being slow, really slow. So I have a cold tire, combined with a wet pavement the rear wheel lost traction @ 15 mph on a corner I'm usually going 30. I'm ok other than some scuffed up pants and a scrapped knee, its amazing how far you slide at 15 mph. luckily it was at my jobs parking lot, didn't hit anything, and the company nurse bandaged up my knee nicely. |

Glad all is well Drfudd. I know that really sucks. When I lowsided my pucks did not take any of the impact, it all went into my bar ends and axle sliders. I guess those Crossroads bars change the impact points. |

Yes those cold tires, combined with the slightest moisture, can make for some exceptional sphincter tightening events. Hope that knee gets better soon too. |

Xblaw, thats next on my list is to get some axle sliders, my forks or swingarm didn't get touched at all but the bolt that holding the shift lever on was grinded down to nothing, it was a bitch to get it off without any nut flats. if it ever happens again I hope the axle sliders will keep the shifter bolt off the ground. |

Nick- Glad nothing worse happened. Man, I was gone to NC Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to spend Thanksgiving with my wife's family. Got back about 5 PM yesterday. OF COURSE, today the weather is miserable and rainy and tomorrow looks the same. ARGH. Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving. Oh yea, GO TIGERS! |

When I went down, my shift lever bolt got ground down too. The axle sliders did not seem to help. I had to replace the shift lever and need to replace two of the bolts. |

Hey- I spotted something cool on the way to work this morning: Lowcountry HD/Buell has a billboard up in Goose Creek on Red Bank Road featuring an 1125CR and the "We Are Buell" slogan. Previously, I'd spotted an 1125R billboard on 17A about half-way between Summerville and Monks Corner (that one came down a few months ago). Nice to see them actually ADVERTISING Buells for a change! |

That is pretty amazing. I would like to see them have some more Buell merch... then they would "be Buell." |

I bought a Buell lapel pin for my dad last time I was in there. The only thing they had left was a watch. I mean, really, who wants a Buell watch over a T-shirt or Jacket? |

Regarding Lowcountry: I bought a decent XB9R T-shirt back about 2002 from their store down on Market Street. I still have it- it has a big Buell Pegasus on the back with Lowcountry HD/Buell lettering. At the time they said they had moved all their Buell inventory down there since they "couldn't sell it" at the main store. Since then, I've seen one (1) Buell leather jacket (no armor) in the main store (it hung on the wall for several months) and they had a stack of the pink Buell caps (I bought one for my wife). I think they eventually sold all those. You know, I understand they can't devote a wall to Buell clothing, but sheez, they could stand to have ONE stack of Buell t-shirts in an assortment of sizes. |

I make it a point everytime I go in there to ask the merch girls what Buell gear they have in stock. Maybe they will associate us bothering them as high demand. |

Another advertising miracle this morning- I heard a radio add for Lowcountry suggesting you buy a new Harley or Buell for Christmas. At least they mentioned Buell which is a change from previous ads I've heard. |

Matt, There's nothing louder than a Force. The only Buells I have heard louder was at VIR when Tilley's bikes were on the track. He had something that looked like a 4" storm drain. I give you three days and the officer will be at your door. |

Well, im pretty sure its going to fly. One neighbor had an atv that was louder than any harley ive ever heard, including a fatboy with shorty pipes. Ill admit its loud, but from what ive heard, its not going to be a lot louder than my dads bike. And it just sounds so damn good. |

Looks like his gear won't be sufficient to lessen the impending disaster.... (Message edited by rcontroler on December 11, 2008) |
