Loni and Chris, Condolences from New York and please be safe in your travels. The SPLASH pictures are awesome...still one of my favorite areas to ride in. Glad everyone had so much fun, ate so well and came out unscathed. By the way...is that a case of beer in that man's pants? Gotta love these Buell folks! Court |

There should be space for comments on the pic gallery, so feel free to make up your own captions! Had a nice ride back home, except for the shower just leaving Packwood. Went back the back-side of St Helens, and it's interesting how different it seems....and shorter. Went on to Trout Creek and Glenwood, but from Glenwood took another road that brought me back to SR141. It was a cool road; smooth, no cars, lots of corners and great elevation changes. The last couple of miles are s-curves as you drop down into the Gorge. Then in to White Salmon on 141 (w/some great views), Bingen, and back to the 'Couv. No stops. Stats via the Garmin say (from Woodland): 9h32m total trip time. 7h riding time. 2h36m stopped time. 348.32 miles elapsed. 50.2 mph average moving speed. 90 mph max speed (yeah yeah yeah, it's slow I know!) 3943 feet max elevation. 22294 feet total ascent. 24150 feet total descent. 594 feet/min maximum ascent rate. As always, Chris and Loni did a great job Friday night w/the burgers. And Gary's steaks Saturday night were tasty as well. I liked the group barbecue deal better than scrambling for one of the local eateries. Much jocularity ensued. Border Raid is only, what, 7 weeks away?!?!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. We are about to take off here and start the 12 hour drive to Fresno. Chris packed the bikes in the back of the truck so that we might get a small vacation out of this 2 week venture. The funeral is Weds we will have some time to get riding in. Maybe ride over to the coast (Carmel, Monterey area) for a few days. Anyone have ideas? Don't know the area that well. Thanks agian for be the friends you are,,, Lovin you all, Loni |

Ferris, We are leaving here I think Sunday the 25th. Sorry. Sure would be nice to see you. We want to be home on the 29th to get ready for Chris to race the 30th, 31st, and 1st. Jim, call me on my cell 360-798-7460, or Chris 360-798-7459. We may be able to hook up. What are your days off? We are planning on going to Carmel if we get things taken care of here. We would be there for the 25th and 26th. I hope to ride my bike home via the coast line. Chris will have to truck his bike. I need the saddle time and no better place to do it. Take care! Loni PS Might stop in at the Corbin factory and check out new seats! |

Butt Loni, you have a cute seat just the way it is. Don't let those Corbin boys add any more padding!! |

Sorry Jim that we may not hook up. The 28th is Weds. and we need to be north by then. Maybe next time? We are thinking of Sonoma Fest next year. Thanks for regards, and thoughts Ferris and Denise. Grandpa's funeral was yesterday. The service was so beautiful. I hope to ride highway 1 on the way home. Today it is going to be 104 here and I can't stand this heat. Heading for the coast is what I really want to do. Thanks for the imput on the "seat" Shotgun. Actually Corbin puts "less" padding in the seats they make, and they are a lot firmer (sp?). Just what I need!!!!! Jim and Harv I mailed your ticket stubs to you right when I got home from SPLASH. You should get them soon, if not already. Loni

Finally, I am caught up on all the goings on with SPLASH 04. Let me tell you that the stories were not the fun to read, but I am very happy that every person made it home in one piece. My belated condolences go out to Loni and Chris. Kimberly, sorry to hear about the squirrel and aftermath. Crashing sucks! Hearing that your little brother went down on his first, but hopefully not last, SPLASH sucks. And hearing that my bike, lent to a friend, has crashed sucks! But to tell the truth, I was more concerned about the friend, than the bike. BTW, the 2,200 miles I rode from San Diego to Vancouver were uneventful in comparison. Uneventful, but lots of great roads and scenery! |

Great Pic's Lo! Thanks for sharing. We are home now from Fresno. Not the vacation we really wanted but family is most important. I am going to post my story on the NW section. John, Thanks for your caring words. Sorry to hear about the bike and damage. I was just thankful that everyone was OK. What roads did you ride home from San Diego? Loni |
