Hi. Was off to rainland to play in the floods and mudslides.
Riddle me this: if 4 out of 5 people have a money back guarantee voided, is it grounds for a class action lawsuit or just grounds for a thousand pissed off people to loudly proclaim their displeasure when they realize the nest egg they thought they had coming is not to be seen? Perhaps rotten eggs should be returned to their source, eh?

Oh oh, if it isn't free Packer tickets I may be in trouble. But after loosing in the last game Packer tickets may finally become affordable. I think I'll have to wait until they play in the possibly soon to be vacated Brewers Stadium. (If I wasn't in trouble before then I sure am now. Just warming up for other issues.)

Now to go check the voice mail and see/listen to all the yelling/crying/screaming/begging/griping/complaining/so-forthing.

Family Holidays. Gotta love them. No bloody noses, but the potential is always there. There was one near dog bite though. 'scuse me now whilst I go crack me knuckles and sharpen my blades bullets tongue lawyer pencil.

Does anybody know the legal courtroom equivalent of a Ghilly suit? Just curious.

Mike

likely grounds for pissed off people . .. . if the terms were there (no matter how small the print) on the paper work, it';s likely you're SOL . . . . . this is amurica, however, and any one can sue any one for anything, as you know

of course, if enough people get involved, settlement out of court is possible (just to hush everyone up)

those warenty deals are a lot like sunday paper coupons . . . . they count on most people not adhering to the letter of the contract, voiding the moneyback part, and make margin in that way . . . . if everyone turned in every piggly wiggly coupon printed, they would soon be revisiting their coupon policy (the warrenty part is sourced from an individual in the industry{third party, not associated with the company that offers the product warrented})

Ahh, I see Bomber & myself are thinking the same thing about Mikes little money back deal. If its what I think it is, a lot of folks think its one way, but the harsh reality is I have never heard of 1 person getting a dime back.

John,
I was told very adamantely by the warranty lady (other words fit better) that Harley-Davidson corporate was driving the show on how to handle the money back guarantee deal. What I remember happening is not how I'm now told it was supposed to be handled. What I'm thinking of doing is collecting a weeks worth of dogshit from the puppies and taking it down to Kirk in a plain brown lunch bag along with a book of matches, handing him the bag of dogshit and the matches, telling him the deal as I recall it, and suggesting he get on top of things before more people find out about it and are not so polite to simply hand him the bagofshit to do with as he pleases, or not. This being Wisconsin, the land of the disorderly conduct law, I may take a slightly different approach. Beth is no longer with the company, but I was told that if she had handled the paperwork as I recall her doing then it is null and void.

'scuse me now whilst I go get a cup of coffee to calm down some.

I don't care how much I like a product, if I can't trust the company or the dealership programs then I can't be comfortable with buying the product. That's kind of the bottom line with this deal, lack of trust and lost good faith. If buying American becomes a K-Y job then forget it.

Dyna,
Here's a little frosting on the donut: if the paper work was "lost in the mail" then it is also null and void, and the buyers of the deal were apparently supposed to send in their original warranty paperwork along with the money back guarantee coupon. This is what I was told by the ... upstairs. I'm starting to think it might have been a shredder job failsafe deal, I hope I wrong but the way things are playing out I'm wondering if I'm right. 80% invalid is hard to justify. Maybe ask any legal council you have the ear of if there's a case to be made, I've already apparently lost the money so a contingency deal will cost me nothing but time.

Screw me once shame on them, they don't get a second chance. They signed the deal with the third party people, it's their responsibility. I think I'll resubmit my article to a less-friendly publication that I wrote last year.

HD/Buell really does need to work on that, sounds like they don't try and make each and every customer important, cause maybe they just got too many !!

That Sucks !!

"cause maybe they just got too many "
The numbers dwindle every day, but some may disagree.
Comparing the new Millenium Harley corporation to the old Millenium Harley corporation is possibly comparable to comparing the 100th Harley reunion to the 95th Harley reunion.
I got an Elton John guarantee.
"I just dropped in to see what condition my condition is in,
yeah, yeah, oh yeah, what condition my condition is in"
(Song lyrics by Mickey Newbury.)

Mike . . .. . .dunno what you've been told by whom, so I'll hush up . . . .as for legal ears, I ain't got none, so I can be of no assistance in that regard at all at all

suffice to say, I do not purchase any warrenties that are not part of the original purchase price, nor do I count on much fromn a distributor network . . . . . I've been too close the the business for too long to believe . . . it's a little like not wanting a hotdog after you've seen em made . . . . . .

this statement, of course, uses those good dealers as exceptions that prove the rule

John,
I've worked in a flour mill, hint: don't eat dogfood. ;)

Basically I've been told I'm screwed out of over $1000, as are 8 out of 10 of the people who purchased the same deal. Needless to say, I would not have purchased the warranty without the money back guarantee, and never will again even with one.

In the mean time I think I'll go play on the cycling forums for a bit. After reading through the Performance Mods threads and seeing a few background issues begin to surface that I'm aware of I'm thinking it's good to ignore the cheese for awhile.

(Image from a link on the Performance Quickboard thread)

This weekend project is to replace a leaky F150 rear brake cylinder, find a mislocated tool, and to strip the bodywork off the S2. If I had a spare $150 I'd snag Hoser's exhaust system if it's still available. Oh well, off to ponder the plunders of pedal power pundits.
