I just checked my Myspace page and found something that all of us should be happy for. Got a blog from Brian Wilson (remember him?) and well this is it: Thursday, October 02, 2008 Record Deal!!! Current mood: wide open Category: wide open Music Howdy folks!! I'm in Nashville right now. Been here since Monday workin' on my new album with Arcadian Records. Can't wait to finish it up and have it in your hands, but in the meantime i'm chillin' in the control room while they track keys for a while. Figured i'd take a minute to let all my friends know what's goin' on up here. For the first time, I have willingly dealt with a producer. That's because for the first time, I'm working with a great one. Keith McGiboney has been making music around Atlanta and Nashville for a long time, and he's got a great set of ears and a knack for communicating with artists. It's his own language. We call it "McGibonese". Kinda like Chinese, only with fewer words..... My brother Mark played 7-string bass, and John Tombyll played drums for me. I've worked with John for a long time too, and he's just killer. Both guys came in and tracked all 10 tunes in one day. Those boys are amazing. They did a great job bein' in the music video we recorded at the Fiddle and Steel Tuesday night. The place was packed, and yes...I had to lip-sync. Second day was spent just workin' on rhythm guitar tracks. This is where I introduce you to our engineer/studio owner Shawn Conley. His Red Alert Studios has been open for 10 years, and he really knows his stuff. A guitar player like me, he really knows how to make it happen. He loaned me a few guitars for this project, including his Takamine, a Tele, a killer Strat, a beautiful '72 Les Paul Standard, and I even played his Charvel on a track..... and i liked it!! Today was lead guitar day. it's been FUN!!!! Shawn also played acoustic on one of the tunes for me. Jim Scarlett is handling the keyboard duties as we speak. He's another long time Atlanta/Nashville musician, and also a helluva slide guitar player. By 'keyboard duties', i mean Fender Rhodes and Hammond B3. Nothin' else. It's been fast paced. I haven't even slowed down till now. I'll keep ya'll posted as we go... Till then, thanks for the support and for bein' part of the family. BW |

Way to go, pa-papa-papa-pinball! (Xbullet) No wonder we haven't seen him around. If you actually talk to him tell him thanks for the post and that I miss him at Buell-toberfest. Was looking forward to the cripples stroll down gixxer corner with him this year. |

Got back from Tally yesterday evening. I had fun, didn't crash, and ran a best time of 1:12. Man, my left thigh is sore! Now I'm heading out the door to fly to Vegas on business. |

Have fun in Vegas! Sam and I will be hitting the road in a few hours heading home. I got to meet a number of her highschool pals, it was nice to meet all the people she talked about finally. |

Hey guys, Long time no see. I hate to pop in only when I have good news to tell you without checking on everyone else first, but I am sure you all understand life. Well in the past 3 months I have moved to El Paso taken a job, still building my mustang, and just took the checkered flag at the 24 hour of LeMons in Houston Texas. Check out our website teamschwing.com There is quite a bit of info on http://jalopnik.com/ I actually ran into two badwebbers at the track. neither one has been on in years and I can't recall their names, but they were some cool cats. One of them was working for the LeMons Staff. I hope all is well in 3%er land... I miss you all and hope to make it up there soon! You guys be safe and stay healthy! If you ever get a chance to run a 24 hour of LeMons race, DO IT! it was freaking amazing! |
