yes Tim, it was a great ride! that afternoon I went out again with a friend with a firebolt and a couple guys he knew one had a ducati 999 and one had a honda 954r? we started on a couple of the same roads you and I went on. I guess i didnt stress the gravel point enough because the firebolt and honda took off like a bat outta hell on the twisties. the ducati and i held back and hit em at moderate speed. about 3 minutes later we came up over a small hill to find the honda pulled over and pulling the firebolt and driver outta the brush! he hit a pach of gravel and dumped it at about 60mph. he was fine, and in good spirits toboot! his bike was a little rough though. broke off both left blinkers, snapped the cluch lever, the shifting peg, the drivers foot peg, minor road-rash to some plastic and broke a small piece out of the windscreen. it also broke the left mirror. frame was perfectly fine though. he needs new jeans and leather though. i fallowed him home, and the honda and duc. took off. kinda rude i thought... DeeJ, a ride after work wouldnt be bad, i would probably have to bringing my significant other with as for she loves to ride with me after work! |

Royce, Wow...Bummer for your friend with the Firebolt! I was wondering there for awhile whether we were being overly cautious. Obviously not. DeeJ, I travel alot so am around less during the week. But, when in town will give you a shout. |

Hello BadWebers, I recently purchased a 2001 Blast and am loving it! It's my first bike and I have a few questions. #1: I need to get a new back tire. I've read a lot of posts here and decided on Pirelli. The Dunlop on the front of the bike is still good - will a Dunlop on the front and a Pirelli on the back cause any mayhem? Question #2: My bike is due for the 5,000 mile service. Does anyone know the best place in the Milwaukee area to have this done? I've read a lot of post about bad service and was wondering where the best service could be had. Eventually I would like to do the work myself to save some money, but for now I think I'll just take it in. Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Royce, sorry for the lack of response rudeness on my part. Life's been busy for me lately. email me at mackay dot steve at gmail dot com and I'll add you to our mailing list for Brew City events and meetings and such! Congrats on the 1125R and my condolences on the loss of license... Been there, done that. My one and only motorcycle ticket was while riding a 'busa. I think that's all *I* need to say about that Johnny5. Congrats on the Blast!!! That's how our insanity started, and we're now on our 8th Buell Lemme' pre-face this with that fact that I am in no way financially affiliated with Hals... With that out of the way. There is only ONE dealership I trust in the area. That's Hals. They have probably the 3 best Buell techs in the biz. I wouldn't hesitate to bring my bike there. I'd also ask them if mixing the brands of tires would cause weird results. The profiles between the Dunlops and Pirellis are quite different. If it was me, I'd swap both. Also check out the thumper board for blast advice. |

I can't do the new bike right now, interest rate would kill me and the M2 has bubbles coming out of the bottom gasket. It is going to be at Hals for a while... two weeks. This week at work, etc. has been one crappy thing after another... I am going to go home and work extra next week. I don't feel so good. I haven't felt good in a few days either... Just to verify... The August Meeting tomorrow (Weds, 13 August, 2008) will be at HAL's at 1900 hours, correct? It has not been moved for a BBQ or whatever, as sometimes happens in the summer, correct? Best regards, Karl |

Thought I'd introduce myself in the local thread where I'll actually meet some people (already met Bud) instead of the general forum. I bought my 1st bike, an '03 XB9S, about 3 weeks ago, and have started learning. And I have a lot to learn. This bike needs more than I expected.... Anyway here she is. That's the day after I bought it. I've sand blasted the heel guards, and installed bar-end mirrors. I've got a new front tire ordered, and will be replacing the rear next year. (they'll be mis-matched till then) I'm also going to be doing the 10k service over the next few weeks. I'm hoping to: improve my riding skills repair the front wheel (dented) paint it metallic orange do a good job filling the dent under the left frame puck replace the tail light w/ an integrated LED unit replace the front turn signals w/ smaller LED's add an auto canceling turn signal module install projector HID lighting get new intake/exhaust (PO modified the OEM stuff) dyno-tune for engine mods.} |

Welcome to the forum, H2owerker. I technically "reside" on the Belle City page, but we're all friends around here. Timbscg mentioned going to the Harley shootout at Great Lakes Dragaway tomomorrow--would be a good place to meet some of us Buellers. I should be there racing my '03 9s with my partner in crime, Fiery_XB! She kicks a$$! Anyway, have fun with your mods.. |

Bud, Steve, Toni & Brian:Nice seeing you guys last night! Had some fun (and some yummy beverages) H2O, have you considered the select seat for your bike? I assume that's the stock one on it right now... |

Yeah, I'd like to get the select seat when $ isn't going into needed repairs/maintenance/safety items. I'm just learning to ride, and safety is my #1 interest right now. I just put a pirelli Scorpion Sync on the front yesterday, so I'd like to match that in the rear ASAP. I'm also very unhappy w/ the headlights (and the rest too) and am going to be looking into a HID projector mod soon. (Message edited by h2owerker on August 24, 2008) |

Sounds like you have a lot of work to do! Have fun with it, though. The select seat sure is worth it. I can ride all day and my bum doesn't even hurt me BTW, LAST LADIE'S NIGHT AT DA GROVE is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26th. Gates open at 5 and it runs 'til 10. Ladies are free to spectate or run. C-yas there!!! |
