Jeff- yea, pass the word. Maybe we can get a decent Buell contingent there. BTW- has anybody else seen the Low Country/1125R billboard on 17-A on the right on the way to Moncks Corner? Wow- I wasn't expecting that. Imagine- a dealer actually ADVERTISING Buells for sale! |

Hugh, We vacationed in ChuckTown a couple weeks ago and we saw 2 or 3 billboards in the area with the 1125R Buell ads on them. Mighty impressive!! But got dismayed when we stopped by the dealer to find no clothes and only 3 Buells. Maybe was because of the end of model year>?? Is it OCTOBER yet????? |

Wow- I've only seen the one; I'll have to keep my eyes open. Low Country RARELY has Buell clothing (I guess somebody screws up and orders something occasionally) but they usually have 5 or 6 Buells in stock. Maybe they'll have an 09 or two soon. |

The poker run is on Saturday September 6, at 11am. It starts on John's Island at Hunter's Green Tack, 195 main Road, Johns Island. It will end at the barn used by Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding (which is also on James island) and I think that live music will be provided at the barn. It should be a good time. I will definitely make this ride. It would be nice to have some fellow Beullers there with me. Jeff |

If I still have a bike to ride on Sept. 6th, I'll definitely try to make it. Sounds like fun and a good cause. |

Sorry guys. Plan to be in Robbinsville area for a Concours Owners Group Southeastern rally that weekend. Otherwise I would come down to attend that poker run. |

Well, I am down to one Buell as of an hour or so ago. Buelltours added my S3 to his collection of tubers. Sorry to see it go, but glad to see it go to a good home. He was the guy that drove ~300 miles to buy an S3T a month or so ago only to find the guy had sold the bike AFTER he'd agreed to sell it to him. He was very happy to find my bike waiting on him when he got here. I have a few tuber parts for sale if anyone's interested: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/388874.html?1219437257 (Message edited by Hughlysses on August 22, 2008) |

Went by Low Country after looking at the F800GS and F650GS down at Champion. Sat on the bike I should have bought - the XT. I was flat-footed at last! I see what you mean about the footpegs - hard to tell any difference. But heck with the footpegs, when did they change the foot of the side stand? |

Jim- yea, the XT would be a better fit for me too. Didn't notice the change to the foot of the side stand, but someone posted something about it in Big, Bad, and Dirty. So, what's your verdict on the F800GS and F650GS? |

Hugh, Champion only got one each - the F800GS is already sold and the red, 798cc F650GS was still in the crate, so I didn't even get to sit on it. Jason, the salesman, says it'll be gone this weekend and he has no more coming in the pipeline for the foreseeable future. These bikes were supposed to be here in March but BMW would rather sell them for more value in other countries, than subsidize U.S. sales. The F650GS has ABS and heated grips and is going for $10.2K, figure closer to $10.75K once tax ($300), tag and "set-up" fees are paid. It's going to be a seller's market on those two bikes for awhile. Hard for me to justify $11K for a naked, new bike, when my slightly used '08 Uly with bags, heated grips, and Rox risers was less than $10K. |

Wow- I guess Uly's are looking better all the time. Well, one thing you could consider would be to convert your X to an XT. You could put an XT shock on the rear and raise the forks in the triple clamps and you'd almost be there. If you wanted the more road-oriented suspension of the XT you could buy new fork tubes too. I guess you'd have to change the side stand for the reduced height. That'd be a whole lot cheaper than a new bike. |

Got my new tankbag from NewEnough. $15 wasn't too bad, as it appears to be real nice and appears to be the right size. Gotta go ride with it on board now....will report back.

Ride report: Couldn't tell it was there unless I looked down at it. Unlatch the rear buckle and tilted it forward to clear the fuel tank opening for the refueling on the way home. Absolutely no interference with hands on my stock handlebars lock to lock. No buffeting in 80 indicated mph. This might be more useful than I anticipated... |

RC- I got mine today too, but I haven't had a chance to try it on the bike. Looks like it fits really well- I like the way it fits the contours of the bike better than the Buell-branded tank bags fit. Yea, I don't think you could come close to beating that for $15. Matt- they have a larger one for ~$17 that might work well on your M2. |

I like them. Took a little getting used to looking down rather than across to see the goings-on-behind. Arguably that the looking downward directs your eyes a bit from normal straight ahead that the stockers allow. Guess you can say they eliminate 2 small blind spots too. The mirror glass is not WIDE ANGLE glass but because it is wider than the round stockers, you get a bit wider view to compensate a bit. The glass is very good quality to help with focus. Can't say they vibrate any more than stockers as some engine speeds cause more vibration than others. Note that these can't be used if you have the hand grip guards (like comes on City Cross) or bar ends. Even though you can fold them inward (90 degree detents) I have not needed to do it yet. |

Jeff, with the threat of hannah, what will happen with the poker run? If hannah does hit us, will it just get pushed back? |
