Swede - Sunday might work for me. If schedule permits, I'd meet you in Sweet Home where I'll need gas in the XB9S before heading up the hill. |

Mark- So my goal would be to make it into Sweat home by 9:00 with a 9:30 am departure after gas up. Where would be a good meetup spot? Do you have a gas station in mind, I have actually never been through there before. If we need to make it earlier I can see If I can drag my ass out of bed earlier. I have about 100 miles to cover to get to Sweat Home which includes a pit stop at Marquam to meetup with Ravens voice (David with his Uly). |

Thump, No guarantees on time. I have never done the route. But 300 miles could take 6-9+ hours depending on, pace, stops, traffic, food etc. Meet up is in Sweet Home @ the Chevron by 8:30 am. Next Saturday will be our next normal ride that is more in line of 2-3 hours and easier for everyone to bail when needed. |

Headed out 6:00 this morning with 71 degree weather. Arrived in Sweet Home at 8:15 where I met up with Mark. We were just about ready to head out at 9:00 when we heard Thunder followed by a 5 minute down pour.
Two miles out of town and the roads dry. We only made one stop because there really was no place to stop on a single lane road.
Quartzville RD was Great but would have been better on a weekday with less campers. Quartzville then turned into Forrest rd 11. This is a very technical road. You have a single lane rd where you are on the look out for oncoming traffic, skiers on wheels, sunken grades, gravel, rocks and animals. Pretty much a 50 miles stretch of non stop turns. Overall a 328 mile day and finished back in Hillsboro by 2:00. It felt good. |

Geeze.. I don't know Aron, Nice to have new blood but these new kids are sassy! Sexier one is in the back... And Damm DBird, that Hurts! Went to Latus Saturday evening and picked up the replacement parts, should have turn signals back soon. Probably need to get a new frame puck soon too. I don't know, sort of a badge of honor / street credit. Sabrina has insisted I send the jacket to Vanson and get it fixed this winter. Thats like getting cosmetic surgery on a good scar! I just don't understand girls. Looks like a great ride Sunday! Alas, I was packing. Move is Thursday, we'll have everyone over soon! |

Good God it's been a PITA! In summary we accepted an offer on our old townhouse in May, and placed our first offer on a new place very shortly after. That offer was contingent on the closing of the townhouse (not sale, it was already sold) and the builder turned it down. Pissed us off bad. We even went so far as to look at another of his places and his agent said no contingent offers while we were within a week of closing, so we walked away from his products, much as we loved them. June third, while we were at PIR together my wife looks at another house. This one was a Rummer (Mid century modern) which we like a lot as well. Found it the second day it was on the marker and on the way home from the track I met tour agent and my wife and signed an offer. Full price offer and we didn't get it. House was under priced, but we thought we'd be OK. We were wrong. Strike two. So we re-evaluated what we were looking for and where we were looking for it. Rummers were our number one pick, but there are three on the market. We've looked at all three. One sucks, and I wouldn't touch it if it was 25% cheaper, the other two are way overpriced. Next was downtown, NW or the Pearl. Not enough room in our price point to make it work. So we started looking West hills. We found this place, which we like. We made a couple compromises. Yard is a bit small, All the houses in the hood look the same, and there is a risk of development in our back yard. But we went with it. Turns it was misrepresented in the MLS listing ("Backs to green space" should have been "Backs to some dudes huge back yard and may be developed someday") and we almost walked. Instead we shook the magic 8 ball and bought anyhow. Next the appraisal came back low. That almost broke the deal as well, we just told the seller they had to drop the price or we'd walk. Within 10 days of closing they took it... What a fiasco. Anyhow we sign today and move Thursday. When I'm in I'll be Happy. Here's a link to the place. Note where Skyline, Thompson and Miller are in relation. DARN. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1 1798+werburgh+lane,+Portland+OR&sll=45.539166,-122 .796957&sspn=0.006778,0.018711&ie=UTF8&ll=45.54356 9,-122.78492&spn=0.027111,0.074844&z=14 |

Paul - congratulations on the new home. Don't worry about development in the back yard: we have about 15 feet of back yard (house wall to fence line), and the new development has opened up a great view of the mountains! Eagerlay anticipating another year or two of empty lots until we're staring at the new neighbors. Aron - good ride up Quartzville on Sunday. Sorry I was late. Actually, if we'd run up that road any earlier my Drummer would have caused hung-over-camper riots. Yep, that's a good technical road, and my sphincter is finally unclenching today. Glad we got to unwind running down the hill on US20. |

$50.00 to Mark. Aron or I can collect as well. Lifetime membership, comes with a shirt and a membership card. Access to all club events and a vote at the formal meetings, which we don't seem to have many of these days. Our charter is posted in the club news section of the board. |

I believe Paul will have to email it to you. So since we have not had a formal meeting should we have an informal pre-ride meeting at Gators this Saturday? We can discuss time and location for our next meeting. |

Well I had a lapse of better financial judgment today and allowed my wonderful wife to sacrifice her Sportster for me to once again be a BUELL owner. I had planned on waiting until Spring but I had an impulse moment and a weak self constraint. Plus it didn't help that my wife was saying go ahead, its OK. |

The CR's are not out until second week of September here in Portland area. Looked at a 09 XB12Ss at Paradise (very tempting) but I wanted to get a bike from Latus and something I hadn't had before. I ended up getting an 08 model bike even though I thought I would never get an 08 because of all the fueling issues. I guess it just goes to show I like fiddling with stuff that doesn't quit work right. Gives you a reason to play in the garage. |
