J, sure have. I like it much more than the R, still a little weird. However, I'm sure I could do some massaging to improve it a bit. I still think that keeping the XB and adding a supermoto would be a better option for me right now. |

Thanks Chad Good to hear you got the bike back, great weather lately, good time to get out and enjoy it. Mine's been in the shop a week now, hopefully get it back this week/weekend some time. That CR reminds me a lot of the B-King... |

Sam and I are going to ride on Sunday morning. Exact time and destination is dependent on others schedules and preferences if they would like to join. We were thinking of Bogus or Lowman, around 8 or 9am. Let me know if you would like to come along and when and where you want to go. |

If I didn't have a bunch of hot rod parts for my truck show up today I'd be there Sunday, but alas, hot rod parts are winning the battle... |

Hey guys, how is everyone? I have been on the river most the summer and missing out on the rides. I finally spent some time on the bike this weekend to get it road worthy. Now I just need to get this new tire on the back and I'm ready to rock. Of course HD is out three to four weeks for appointments so I'm kind of stuck. Mike, what kind of bribes do you accept for a tire mount? That is if you are still keeping shop hours I can bring beers or money or pizza or trade a favor if you would like. I've got a VDSTS and would be happy to share if you are in need of a tune or TPS reset. |

You guys ever rebuilt a bike with a salvage title? Anything to worry about, issues? Does the title stay as a salvage? May have a good deal on a kawi that is titled salvage, never dealt with salvage aspect of vehicles before. |

Nate, from what I understand, a salvage bike will always have a salvage title. Registering one for street use varies from state to state, so I'd call the DMV to make sure. It sounds like fun to me, if you had the right donor bike to start from. |

Hmm, guess I should probably call and get the scoop first. Hate to buy something that I can only resell or part out. So I saw Dave the owner of HDHD on the road today, he was riding a Harley. Though that it was cool to see him, I waved, he just blazed on past, no wave, no nod, wasn't shifting, so that wasn't it. Makes ya feel real good about buying two bikes from him... |

You might check, from what I understand, the salvage title does not exist in canyon county, so you might try that approach. Dealers out there buy salvage then title as used when they are purchased, good luck. |

I talked to the people at the DMV and they said it's no big deal, just ends up being a reconstruct when you are done. Just need to have it inspected to get it titled, then inspect it again after it gets rebuilt. Has to be inspected at the place on State St., so that is kinda a hassle, but not too bad. Costs a little $$ each time to get it inspected too, but not bad. Now I just need to decide how bad I want it... (Message edited by c4bird on August 11, 2008) |

It was a 2002 ZX6R... Waited to long. Oh well, in my searches I found out how to buy insurance auction bikes. Lots more options now. |

Hey Nate, sounds fun, you might have to share the info. I would like to find a project bike if the price was right. Something with a V-twin would be sweet. Mike thanks again for the help on the tire mount! It's always a relief getting a new skin on the back. I'll let you know how this thing wears, so far so good... |

Bummer, I have to work next Sunday.. As far as the secret, Coparts in Nampa is where I have been looking. There are a couple web sites out there that let you bid on bikes. Haven't gone through the process so don't have all the details yet, but I'll give you guys the scoop when I do. If you want to beat me to it, as long as you let us all know how it goes, salvagebikesauction.com is who I will probably try to go through. |
