Don't hold your breath. They have been giving me the two-step-dance on getting more Buell clothes for 3 or 4 months now. They kept telling me they would give the 'Motorclothes' manager my requests but I have not seen any change. Just like when they ran me around on my request for the free neck gaiter. Took 2 trips to get one and almost had to get nasty to finally get it. It was worth the persistence; it really helps block the wind. Won't be needing to wear it for quite awhile now.... |

Thundertower actually had a separate Buell clothing rack for a while, a few months after they opened 2 years ago. Evidently it didn't last long. They did have a few (~4-5) Buell T-shirts buried amongst the Harley stuff last time I was there. |

Yeah, I saw that they had a very small section in the back with two blue long sleeve Tshirts, and two black short sleeve ones. But nothing in my size or anything that I really wanted to pay $35 for. |

If any of you Uly riders in the low country are interested in meeting some ADV riders, they're meeting at Andolini's Pizza on Rivers Avenue tomorrow night at 7 PM. Thread at advrider here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=71 57879#post7157879 I hope to make it. (Message edited by hughlysses on June 10, 2008) |

Just got back from meeting the guys off advrider; we had 6 in attendance tonight. 3 KLR riders, one Suzuki rider, one BMW GS, and me on the Uly. We're gonna meet next month at Breck's on Rivers Avenue. |

Was thinking about going, but the Uly is all packed and gassed for the trip this weekend and the wife brought home some salmon steaks. |

Jim- Seems like a pretty good bunch of motorcyclists. Some of them are headed up to ride in the area of the BRB the weekend of June 20th. Unfortunately I'm out of town that weekend. BTW- a North Charleston motorcycle cop stopped by to talk to us in the parking lot at Andolini's. He said they're having a police "motorcycle rodeo" on Saturday June 21 at the parking lot for the North Charleston Coliseum. Evidently quite a few out-of-state police departments will be performing. Those guys are pretty impressive wheeling those big bikes around in tight quarters. Right after that the cop got a call on the radio, said "I gotta go!", lit that Harley off, went straight across Rivers Avenue, through the median with grass flying, and took off like a bat out of hell south on Rivers with siren on and lights flashing. I guess he enjoys his job... |

Hugh, Sounds like it was fun. "BRB" = BRP? I watched a police bike rodeo once and I've also seen some of the off-road training they do climbing embankments and stuff. Rob Grimsley, with Charleston County, has been riding over 15 years and is truly amazing on a 750 pound dresser. I guess he enjoys his job... As a recreational motorcyclist for 39 years, I wouldn't want to ride one 8 to 10 hours a day, day after day, in traffic, in the heat, rain and cold, and dealing with the public in adversarial and dangerous situations. When you're off-duty, the last thing you want to do is climb back on a bike. Riding a bike like that is kind of like riding off-road. It's not "if" you wreck, it's "when" you wreck. Wife and I are headed out this evening to the BR BBQ Festival in Tryon to meet some non-riding friends. I've also been thinking of riding to Pickerington, Ohio, for the June 28th opening of the Celebrity Bike Exhibit at the AMA Motorcycle Museum. Probably leave on the 26th. |

Jim- yea, that was a typo. BRP/Blue Ridge Parkway. As someone told me a LONG time ago, lots of things are fun to do until you have to do them to earn a living. |

Matt- I saw another black M2 on Ladson Road this morning about 7:30 AM. It had wrapped headers and a carbon fiber race air filter. The guy had on a Buell windbreaker jacket. Anybody know who it might be? |

Hey Charlie- I was sitting at the stoplight at Ladson and Miles Road on my Uly when you rode by. It's such a rarity to see another Buell on the road around here you caught my eye. |

Hey Charlie, I'm back in town and will be in your neighborhood this evening. If you are not busy having your regular Friday night orgy/ grape eating festival, I might stop by to see what you're working on. I plan to ride my bike if I can get the broken tail light lens to stay on long enough. You gonna be home and in the garage? I'm attending a retirement party around the corner at about 7. Jeff |

Guess your right Charlie, im slowly getting the parts to do the wheel swap/ inverted forks. I have the xb9s front end in the garage now, i have the rear wheel spacers coming. All i need is the wheels (looking for the dark red ones) the caliper and the rotor. |

Wife and I got back from a short 400+ mile trip to the Blue Ridge BBQ Festival in Tryon, NC. The bike did great and it was nice to ride on something other than flat, straight roads. Did not see a single Buell. Attached a photo of wife and bike. Although my svelte wife and bike had no problem fitting in the frame, after all those BBQ "samplers," the lens wasn't wide enough to include me.

Jim- sounds like a good trip. Have you seen the posts that say the dealers now have an ECM update for the 08's that improves low speed performance and MPG (+5 MPG claimed)? |

Hey Hugh, Yes, I saw that on the Adv Rider site and called Low Country yesterday about having it done Wednesday when I go down and get my new and improved clutch cable wireform. The service guy working yesterday is supposed to call back Tuesday after he does a little research to see if they have the patch. If not, I may hold off until they get it before going down there so I get it all done at once. Yes, it was a nice trip. I probably gained 10 lbs. (No wonder the mpg is on the low side!) We dodged all the rain and survived the I-26 raceway. Now that I'm semi-retired, I really don't why I even bother with interstates. It's not like I have to be anywhere by a certain time. What's my rush? |

Were can I view these posts about the 08 ECM update? I am still having problems with my 08 XB12R with low speed and off idle coughs and burps with a drop in about 10 to 15 mpg since my last service (less than 500 miles ago). I would like to get this fixed asap, as I am about to embark on a trip to Cleveland, OH on June 27th. |

Good deal. Like I said on advrider, I'll bet the engineers at Buell have had their hands full working out bugs with the 1125R and just now got time to tackle it. BTW- I saw a black Uly on Rivers Ave near Trident Tech about 12:15 this morning. Side bags but no top bag. Wonder who that was? |
