Hugh, I've stayed at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground in Cruso a few times. It's on 276 about 6 miles north of the BRP. Did you see it on your trip? It's a nice place with cabins and lots of space for tents. http://www.blueridgemotorcyclecamp.com/ Jim, I did not specifically see the campground but I remember the Cruso area and it looked nice. That'd definitely be a good semi-central location. |

I might be mistaken but I only took place in the outside activities never went inside of the convention center. I did not see the interest for what was inside of the building. maybe that's why i have never paid for the events there |

Thats right Mike, it has always been free for the events just outside the Convention Center, but 10 bucks to get inside. |

Glad to hear it Matt. Come to think of it, we really almost need 3 days. Ride to upstate Friday night, ride twisties all day Saturday, come back Sunday. If we were camping (~$15/night single on the weekend at the campground Jim mentioned), expenses wouldn't be bad at all. |

I don't know if any of ya'll will be down toward the Myrtle Beach area this weekend (some avoid MB at all cost during Atlantic Beach Bike Fest), but H-D and Buell will be having the demo rides again this year at Colonial Mall on Fri, Sat, and Sun from 10am - 4pm. Plus Team Extreme (http://www.teamxtreem.com) will be performing two shows a day. I saw them last year and they were quite impressive on their XB Lightnings. |

jomama, was that you riding by the pancake place on the south end sunday morning around 8 or so. saw a cherry bomb firebolt as we were getting suited up to get back on the uly after breakfast. only got to talk to one guy on a cyclone real quick at SBB II. oh well. for you guys wanting to come to the upstate, if i was in a larger place(one bedroom) i'd be able to put you up. although i could still ask the wife to see what she thought if i we gave up floor space. |

Nevrenuf, wasn't me. Was on the North end on Sunday morning. Didn't make it down to the south end till 2pm to get a few T-shirts for $5. I only saw one other cherry bomb firebolt (brand new from WV, still had the temp tags on it) during the Rally. On another note, I am new to this whole forum thing here, and was wondering if this Upstate meet is something ya'll do once a year, several times, for certain people only? |

Jomama, this meet is something that isn't planned or tradition, its just a bunch of us going ride in any direction we please ourselves to go. I've been to a couple of these "meets" and they've been in the Charleston area. before MBV we were discussing riding to the upstate area to meet the guys up there and also enjoy better motorcycle roads than what the Charleston area has to offer... Its open to anyone who has the spare time to get on his or her bike and go riding in a group. and lately its been once or twice a year we can spare the time to "plan" a ride. Also anyone can "plan" a ride, just pick a date and a place, nothin to it. |

Had an XB12r roll through my hood in Goose Creek. I tried hollerin' to get him to stop, but it was to no avail. Had the amber wheels but a red windscreen. Anyone on here or know who it is? |

There seem to be a few non-Badweb Buells in the lowcountry. I saw an XB12S (black?) on Rivers Ave near Aviation this week. |

Maybe you low country guys should get 2 or 3 T-shirts made with the SCBR logo and a link to BadWeb printed on them and put them up for sale in the Harley/Buell showrooms. Would smack 2 birds w/1 stone. Folks would know about us/BadWeb and the dealer would have 2 or 3 times the inventory of Buell T-shirts.. |

Matt- I've seen a yellow XB9S around Summerville a couple of times. Bearings are known to go out on the rear of tubers. Rear wheel actually has 3 bearings. You're welcome to borrow my bearing puller if you need it. Not sure if it'll work on a tuber wheel or not. |

And Matt, if you need, er, more than 200 pounds of mass as leverage, just holler out the back door. |

I hope yall had a great Memorial Day weekend. I had a chance to get down to the Buell and Harley Demo rides at the Colonial Mall in Myrtle Beach this past Sunday. Since there was basically no one there, there were no lines and we hopped from bike to bike until we rode every bike in the demo fleet (Harley and Buell models). We had an absolute blast and rode several bikes twice. I definitely recommend taking advantage of the Demo rides if they come to an area near you. I was very impressed with the raw power of the 1125R and really enjoyed the 6th gear. It took a little getting used to running the bike in the higher RPMs, but I thought the bike was fantastic. The employee escorts even let you really test the bikes out, giving you plenty of room to drop the hammer. |

Helmets off to Gov. Sanford. He just signed into effect a law allowing us to legally run red lights after waiting two minutes. |

Now we just need a law to lane split like they do in california |

On the other hand, he also vetoed this year's cost of living increase for retirement pensions, so I'm putting my helmet back on now. (It's not like anything I buy is going up, right?) |

Yeah I just wonder how many boneheads are going to run the lights in the cars. You know there will be more people to do that now than already do. Wish I would have gone to Myrtle Beach this past weekend. One more reason to wear a helmet: There was a guy I went to high school with that I havent seen since. Found out that he had a motorcycle and was out riding this past sunday and I dont know if someone pulled out in front of him but what I do know is he is brain dead in the hospital. Clearly wasnt wearing helmet. Thats not for me so I think I will just keep on keeping the ole melon covered fully when I ride. Sad situation, but he made the choice. Each to their own I guess. |
