DETAIL'S DETAIL'S DETAIL'S!!!!! Sunday night in pickatickton ha,ha,ha I called it a night about 12:30, and about a hour later Galen was about asleep when he heard a crash. Then someone ran up the stairs, didn't think much about it and went to sleep. I got up about 7:00 walked outside to see my bike on it's side. Fuck, now my kick stand is broke, no it's on it's right side. All that happend was a bent bar end, broke the mirror and not much else. Brandon - that sucks! Sorry to hear about your bike. Well shizzle my nizzle dizzle. I think me and the fizzle are up for 2 nights in Whistler for sure. That was so kick ass, it really is the one time a year we are without the kids so it was nice! Loni- No, sorry.... no more Rogers chocolates left in our house. I took care of that by early Wednesday, that's right all 6 empress squares and all 6 of the almond rocha chocolate thingys are gone! Good thing I can't get those on a regular basis. Johnboy- such a tease only something for Debi. Don't tell me you had a camera in that gondola on the way down from the lodge? Bobby G and the Mrs - are you guys alive and well? I have not heard from you forever - well ok only one week. Eric- Glad you had a good time and hope you enjoyed this week of vacation. Thanks for providing what I forgot to bring! Bob, Deb, Loni, Chris, Lo, Don, Galen, Lisa, Duane, Brandon, Shaun, Kathy, Stu, Harv, Jim, Steve, Linda, Mike G, Eric (both of ya), John, and anyone else I am forgetting, I miss you all so much already and can't wait til next time! I am glad Mike invested in a Buell years ago, our payoff did not come from that bike but rather the friends we have made. I love you guys. Kimberlie |

I thought that after word got out about the rippin' roads we took on the way to Penticton that all ya'll (got my American dictionary out for that one!) would be in for the full loop next year. Ah well. If that's not to be, you should look at renting a house for the weekend. A party pad. Save on the bar bill. Sleep together. Yeah baby! I'll still be planning on the long loop. Those are my favorite roads out there and that is one of the few times I can get that far to do them. Glad to hear you're also for it, Bob. We need you along to get the pace right! |

I want the full loop too. In fact, I think it would be fun to start Saturday with an optional morning ride that would start at say 9:00 AM and end at noon at Deeley's. After all, the afternoon ride to Whistler ain't all that far. |

Yes, Rashie-poo, you may have hit it! Just start a day earlier, and still hit them great roads we love so dear! And I swear to the Great Monkey God that I'll have Black and Blue back on the road by then. 80 mph just ain't enough. Nope, not at all...not at all. sooner, Galen edited by sparropie on September 06, 2003 |

2 Days or not 2 Days... for next year's Border Raid. You have to remember that most of us Canadians live so close to Whistler that it's not really worth forking out all the money to stay there and only get a little bit of riding in for the weekend. Looks like we're torn on this and that sucks because I sure missed partying and riding with EVERYONE. Loni, Chris, Mike, Kim, et al... I really missed you the rest of the trip. ... just my measly 2 cents (sheesh... I should be saving for next year, right?!) Ride on, Lo PS. It sure is quiet around here... |

Was thinking the other day (or maybe I was dreaming, good way to fill time at work) that Duffy Lake Road come close to my idea of the roads we'll find someday in Motorcycle Heaven. Same riding partners, same scenery, same curves, brand new tarmac, no center line 'cause there'd be no oncoming traffic allowed, or any car/motorhome traffic either. Oh yeah, and it would go forever, you'd just pull off once in a while to catch your breath and relax your grin muscles. Yeah, that's it. Lo, did you get my email? |

Shotgun, When is the next BRAG meeting? And when is the ride. I thought we changed the dates. Since I am in charge of the route this month it might be wise to know this info don't you think? I should of wrote it down, but I did'nt. Sorry. Lo, we really did miss all of you too. I wish there was more back roads up there in the Whistler area. Is there? Is there some other roads we could go explore Sunday together and then return to Whistler Sunday late afternoon? I know and hear what you are saying about living in the area, knowing the roads and having to fork out the cash to only ride a short distance. Lets do some looking and thinking about this and see what we can come up with. You all know the roads, I can only look at maps. I will look at maps, and post an idea and you (all canadians) let me know. I like the idea of us staying together but the distance is to much for me. I can only speak for myself here but...I know that I am not the best of riders and for me I enjoy riding and love all you, but I also need to know my limits and not ignore how I feel after riding 300 miles in a day on twisty roads. I know I am a wienie! If I could I would ride 24-7. After reading the post from Roadrash, Shotgun, Eric ect could there be a shorter route to the roads you are talking about to Pentiction? Kinda like what we did with the SPLASH route? Just 1 of many ideas I will come up with. Lovin and missing everyone! Loni

Sunset Thunder Club September Meeting On the 16th, at 7 PM. New Place. Ride will be the 3rd Sunday, right? the 21st, so you can entice us at the meeting. Not often we get a 3rd Sunday that falls after the meeting on the 3rd Tuesday. Ok, it's gonna be "Cheerful Sports Page" a really friendly sports bar not far from the Silver Pizza place. It is at Progress exit on 217. They have all kinds of food including pizza, burgers, steaks, and breakfast all day. Tuesdays is also Taco Nite, 3 tacos for $1.50. Get there before 7:00 PM and your drinks are still at Happy Hour prices. They have about 10 TV's going. If there is no football game on our night, we can have Speedvision on one of the big screens. No commitment. We'll start with a table for 6-8 and add on if more show up. For sure it's gotta beat the storage room at the Silverfish Pizza place. |

Shotgun, Thanks for the info, I will pass it on to the hubby. Happy hour drinks sounds good to me. Maybe we should change the time to 6:30! I also think that it will be better than the storage room full of pizza boxes and broken chairs! Since Joy was not at the last meeting and since she has been gone to the 100 yr Annv ride I think I will call her and let her know. Thanks so much. Loni |

We could try and find a quicker route to Penticton. I don't get to ride the roads in that area very often... okay THIS was the very first time! So I'm definitely voting for the Penticton area for night #2. But I totally understand about your needs. So would a more direct route to the destination entice you to tag along? I'm sure there'd be people choosing both routes. We'll have to get together with Eric and Jim. They seem to know that area quite well. Well... 'cept leaving Penticton to find Green Mtn road. Chuckles... I think Eric just wanted to give that cop something to do on a lazy holiday morning. One more thing... I've got photos up from BorderRaid! Here's a direct link to Page 1 of 3: http://bcrider.com/borderaid2003.html Mouse-over the photos for commentary and click on them for the full picture. That's where you can save them too, those of you that were there and want copies. What a great ride! I miss everyone so much. Thank goodness for the Web to keep in touch with all of you! Cheers and ride on... Lo

Great web site on Border Raid LO!!!! It makes me wish we were still out riding together!!! I'm putting 140 miles a day on the red head commuting back and forth to work in Bremerton. I've been looking at some engine kits and think an 88" Zipper's with some TI upgrades could be alot of fun. More later, ROADRASH |

Lo- those pictures are awesome, you do a great job (I bet it was nice to have Eva in school to be able to get that done)! Looks like you guys had a killer time, I love the picture of Bob & Debi in the morning at breakfast, that is a keeper. For next year I am all for what the majority votes, I made a suggestion to stay 2 nights, but if that doesn't work then well it doesn't work. I did enjoy my time there and I know the boys' had a great time on the ATV ride (not sure that is the sort of thing you do every year), but being with the group is always fun. Besides I need my bald head fix for both nights since I only get it twice a year anyway! LOL For those of us that don't live so close to Whistler, we might always leave earlier from Deeley's to get up to the mountain to be able to enjoy more of the village? Maybe the less experienced group that tends to hold up the fast pace going up anyway? Just a thought? I guess most of all I need to be riding if I am ever gonna get better! You know someone told me one time I would never be as good as Debi, well first I gotta stay up with Lo in the turns and then I am pulling towards Debi! (maybe 10 years from now I'll get there). I totally enjoyed our "spirited" ride back from Whistler to Deeley's. I stayed behind Mike the whole time and kicked ass! (not to technical of a ride though) It was a lot of fun, but might I mention a tad bit nipply! I needed my winter gloves, I think my fingers were almost frozen by the time we got back. Miss you, love you all! Kimberlie |
