Looks like I'll be heading to T.W.O. on May 1st for a couple of days and down to Atlanta to visit some friends and relatives. Will meet a couple of riding buddies from NC on new mounts - an '08 Uly and Triumph Tiger. Doubt if we get over to Hiawassee since they are charging a $10 day fee this year and fewer vendors have been showing up the last couple of years. Will probably hit Deals Gap, the Skyway and have lunch at the Inn at Amicalola Falls. Hugh, when I saw your post about a Kawasaki wrecking I thought it might have been a guy who lives a couple doors down who, after a party Saturday morning, thought it would be fun to go WFO at 3 AM down our street (25 mph limit). I kept waiting to hear the sounds of the crash as he approached the 90 degree curve but I guess he was sober enough to brake in time. Green Kawa 600 crotch rocket, paper tag, rider wearing T-shirt, shorts, flip flops and baseball cap worn backwards. |

Luckily I did not see any of that stuff yesterday. I was in the Charleston area for a day trip. Didnt take the bike unfortunately. I did see a lot of bikers enjoying the weather down there. I kept the lookout for some of you guys down there but I was unsuccessful. Well the weekend of May 17th is not going to work for me but any time after is great, or even the Saturday before (Mothers Day Weekend I believe). But anyway yall do what the mass wants to do and I will see where it plays out for me. |

Just got the latest issue of Fuell and saw LaFayette in it. Talking about his S3T just passing 100,000 miles. Congratulation on that milestone achievement! I'll be busy until about mid June. early next month I should have new tires and etc. then the first week in June I'll be in Michigan but I wouldn't mind a ride in the mountains around June, get out of the heat of June for a day. |

How come I don't get Fuell mag. I have to go to the web to view them. Spotted a blue/white Buell in Greenville on Friday. Anyone here? I was going the opposite direction and looked out of the corner of my eye. |

Hugh, one of the techs at Low Country rides an 1125. Don't know if the one you saw was his. And Matt, if our neighbor keeps it up, we'll probably be reading about him in the morning paper in the near future. There are bold motorcyclists and there are old motorcyclists, but....... |

Sure, that would be great. CONGRATS!!! Very excited for you and your new XT. Is it the faster black one? We really need to get together for a ride soon. I should be closing on a house on Friday so my weekend will be busy but I can probably slip away for a couple of hours. |

Bad day for motorcyclists yesterday afternoon in our sleepy little town of Summerville. First, a police officer on a bike (wearing helmet)collides with a pick-up truck while escorting a funeral and suffers a broken leg. Then a 20 year-old guy and 19 year-old girl (not wearing helmets) are killed when a truck pulls out in front of them. No citations were listed in the story but the officer was charged for contributing to the accident for passing in a no pass zone. Let's be real careful out there! |

The accidents were unrelated though. Right? |

No, the officer's crash was at the lunch rush hour and the fatalities were at the evening rush hour. |

Plans fell through for Friday closing, closing on Monday now. I can likely ride this weekend. Partly cloudy and 76 on Sunday. Sound like good riding to me. |

Jwnsc- I found out this morning that the guy that got killed with the girl in the crash on Tuesday was the son of a guy I used to work with. I understand he also didn't have an M/C license. IIRC, you're required to wear a helmet in SC until you turn 21 too. I'm sure neither of those is very easy to enforce. Sad story. |

I was feeling a little down and nothing cures that faster than riding my Uly on a beautiful day. So I rode over to Daniel Island and sure enough, I found a reason to perk up. (I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy)
No telling who'll you see on a Uly ride! (She won 7-5, 6-2) |

I'd love to try a tall. We can swap to see what the difference really is. The short screen doesn't bother me until I reach highway speeds. White knuckles with my jacket(parachute) trying to pull me off. |
