Al- The deer story wouldn't have worked that good, as Mike said, "the scratch is vertical not horizontal". Shit! Good thing I am one honest chick and didn't try that first! Well I am now $935.27 dollars poorer than I was before I walked into Portland Motorcycle! They said it could take 2-3 weeks for parts and well Mr. Wood refuses to ride the bike how it is now, so I might be riding it with the damage to Border Raid. You will all get to see what an awesome job my big ass does to come between a bike and pavement. Did you know that foot pegs are $69.96 each and well I am sure Mr. Wood had to of scratched those while riding hard. At any rate they will be replaced. Along with: Fairing side $425.50 Signal $55.95 Engine case cover $138.50 Mirror $107.50 Clutch lever $107.50 2 Footrest each $69.96 Gasket $25.95 His new race exhaust is $385.50. I could have bought nearly 3 of those! Good thing it is only money! I need to make me some more of that stuff.... |

I would like to point out the membership fee for the, "those who have and those who will" club is a little steep. My friend (who by the way doesn't ride) said, "how the hell do you drop a bike when you aren't moving". What does she know anyway! LOL Kimberlie "aka" newest member!

"Mr. Wood refuses to ride the bike how it is now" Road bikes get scratched and nicked. Flawless bikes get stored in museums. I'd rather ride than shine. The deer story was better. Hang in there, stuff happens. |

MikeJ - Mike Wood takes pride in his bikes and his riding and for good reason. I am not upset that I have to fix/replace parts, if he ruined something of mine I would expect the same. Just the same if I ruined something of anyone else's. I am just glad we have the means to do it. Trust me he will be riding! There is nothing worse than to see a nice bike lookin' bad going down the street. Granted he was not nice when I told him, but I didn't expect him to do a back flip and give me a kiss and say, Thank you Honey. He reacted just like I expected, anything less would have been disappointing, all that worrying would have been for nothing! LOL Bobby- Clutch lever $41.95 (copied the mirror costs). Yeah I think I kinda got raped, but heck it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, I was expecting to shell out as much as $2,000 so instead I have extra for the pipe! Shoot I will be buying a new back tire soon too for the biggest fan who travels the farthest for his little Code Red nephew!! btw- you should see the new pit board that Mike's Dad had his sign company put together, they used your code red logo that you put together and enlarged it. It is so cool. Hopefully it will be done by this weekend. Big Brother Matt- you are being awful quiet. No words of advice? Like hey, "don't do that again". Life is good and so is being a Wood! |

Additude says "as previously posted, we're all staying in Penticton on Sunday night..." Sorry cutie. I really wasn't being unfriendly, I just didn't have it together when I made my reservations. Basically, that's the story of my life. I'm sure Penticton would have been a better choice, but you'll be tired of me by Sunday night and Osoyoos puts me 40 miles closer to home. None the less, I'm looking forward to a wonderful three day weekend. Three days of nothing but fun and music. Oh, wait. Am I showing my age again? My wife hates it when I do that. |

Roc, if you had pink I don't know what I would put it on anyways! Red does look nice! Kim, I am glad to know that everything is coming along with Mikes bike parts. Girl when I saw how you tucked your body between the bike and the cement....WoW that scared me! But you know I think I would of done that to. I am just glad that you are OK. Riding behind you on the way home made me so comfortable, you are an awsome rider. Deb when is Bob coming down? Are you still coming Saturday and Bob on Friday? Let me know the plans! Chris picks up my forks tomorrow, our 10 yr wedding annv. and says I will be ready to ride tomorrow night! Yahoooooooo!!!!!!! Later! |

Kim, glad you're okay. You got off light on the damage! If Mike gets a new steroid pipe out of it, he can't be complaining! My damage was just over $1k (sigh). When all said and done, it will have new r/h mirror, new side fairing, new brake pedal assembly, new belly pan and various new brackets. They wouldn't replace the scratched pipe or the scratched fork, but my insurance gave me $500 appearance allowance which was the same amt as my deductible so I at least won't be out of pocket any cash. (I can't say enough about American Family Insurance...they've been great to deal with all my insurance stuff.) I'm going to see if the adjuster wants to buy it for $7k.! He's interested in a Triumph, so we'll see. (Um, that offer is open to anyone, btw. That will include a set of RKA saddle bags, and tank bag. Rear hugger and heated grips, new 208ZRs, 8800mi). edited by greeneric on August 22, 2003 edited by greeneric on August 22, 2003 |

MGINBEND- Chris & Loni are at PIR all day Saturday and all day Sunday along with Bob, Debi, Mike and I watching Cody race. I will take your # with me and pass along the message to them when I go out tomorrow morning. They all went down tonight at about 4pm and are camping in their travel trailers for the weekend in the pit area of the track. Heck come one day early and you can watch Cody race. Pass along a hello to Linda! Kimberlie |

ATTENTION BORDER RAID PARTICIPANTS, Sorry for yelling guys, but these Southern BC Wild Fires are giving us grave concern about our motorcycle ride coming up next weekend. It's highly possible we will not be able to ride anywhere near Kelowna and the surrounding area due to out of control fires. It doesn't look good folks. Fire covers 170 square miles and gaining 300 feet/min! We may have to change plans for Sunday night. This could pose a problem for reservation cancellations. If we act now (or within couple of days) we may be able to cancel reservations in Penticton (Or where ever you've booked for Sunday night) and book another night in Whistler (for example). Just ride the surrounding Duffy Lake area perhaps. Input from all participants would be great. I'll repost this in the other StormFront to ensure everyone sees it. Hoping to see everyone regardless of this dilemma! Ride on, Lo Check out this satellite photo link: http://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/en/current/cc_img_e.php edited by additude on August 23, 2003 |
