Sorry to hear that about Cycle Gear, I've always had good service there. |

I have got a pretty twisted route to get to Suches. I am meeting up with folks in Augusta and in Athens. Just google mapped it it is saying 7 hrs. Oh well, I think Jeff and I will trailer to Augusta. That will cut about 2.75 out of it. |

Hugh, Guell, which way you taking to get up this way, highways or 61/78/278 Nick, I hadn't thought about it much. I usually go I-26 to 301 to Orangeburg, then take highway 4 to Aiken. (A friend who used to make a LOT of trips from this area to Alabama recommended this route to me and I've always liked it.) Matt, you got any preference? I-26/I-20 is fine with me if you'd rather do slab. |

Hugh, You guys could take Rt. 61 to Bamburg, tie into 78 and never go near Orangeburg or 26. I go that way to Neeses a lot. But you would just stay on 78 or if you prefer 4, snag 321 outside Bamburg and go to Neeses and pick up 4, cuts a lot of miles off. Just watch out for speeding trap in Norway. Y'all have fun, wish I could go. Let me hear about it. |

I didn't know Cycle Gear did any tire-changing. I've used the Powersports people off North Main near I-26 to mount tires I bought thru the internet. If we all chipped in, a tire changer wouldn't be too costly. |

Charlie, that's a good idea for a route. I've ridden 61 to Bamberg before. I've always heard 78 can be a PITA as you get further north west of Summerville so I've usually avoided it. I always assume any small town in SC with a 35 MPH speed limit means it and drive/ride accordingly. Jim, there's also an independent shop on Trolley Road not far from me, but I've never checked them out. Harbor freight job is about $100 for car tire change plus motorcycle adapter. |

When ever I go to the coast I always take the 61 route. I've taken 78 once all the way once and its nothing but small town after small town, 61 is void of anything, just a few stop signs in the middle of nowhere. Its boring, but efficient. I was looking and going up via Athens doesn't sound half bad. makes the route more straight. 78 all the way to Athens, then get on 129 to Gainesville and then hop on 60 all the way to Suches. Adds about 45 minutes but might be worth it because if we get lost taking any other route it'll add 45 minutes to it anyway. How much are tire changers anyways? I have a feeling that after this trip I'll have to replace my tires, the back tire is almost there. |

Hugh, I checked them out last year since they are just across the street. They wanted $75 per tire then. I think the Powersports people charged me $60 for both a couple of years ago. I'm sure everyone has gone up since then. |

Jim, I believe Charlie said Cycle Gear will mount and balance for $25/tire. Nick, You can buy a portable tire changer for $29.99 from Harbor Freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem. taf?Itemnumber=34542 BUT you have to buy the motorcycle accessory to go with it which costs $49.99: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem. taf?itemnumber=42927 So, for about the cost of getting two tires mounted, you can buy the tools to do it yourself. Homemade balancers aren't that hard to make for that part of the job. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna drop by the local store and pick one up this week. |

Ah yes, Fairspring Court. I thought I was hearing a Harley back there. (Well, I was, kinda) Were you living there in December 2006 with all the "excitement" at 105? I'm right behind you about 100 yards north, yellow siding split-level over brick. |

Took me 2 trips to the local Buell dealer but I finally got my 'free' Buell Neck Gater. 1st trip they were locked up in the manager's office and he had just left for his hour lunch break and no one else has keys to get in. Next day I called before the 2nd trip to verify that there was going to be access to the locked office to get a neck gater. Got there and after the sales guy went in to get one, suddenly they were all gone. I proceeded to rant about I had called before I came to make sure I would not waste any more time or $3.09/gal. gas and as I was being led over to the "Motorclothes Dept." to find out who told me it was OK to come, the 'last neck gater' quickly emerged from the manager's office. Maybe the moral here is to order your neck gater from an on-line source and do without the free Buell advertising. I do hope everyone else can get their 'free' neck gater with less hassle. While I waited the hour to have my clutch cable replaced at Low Country this morning, I searched diligently for any and all things Buell. I was done in record time. Nada. |

Guys in summerville, the bottom just fell out here, they are saying tornadoes as well. I haven't seen any. its on your way! check the radar maps. I spent 6 hours outside today pressure washing my house, makes everything so clean. its a little bit more powereful than your typical quarter car wash. Works well to clean the house and decks. Haven't used it on my bike yet, that'll come next weekend. |

Everyone in the Summerville area should be fine, unless they were out riding around in it. The worse of it passed north or south of us. My wife and son were trapped on I-26 West yesterday afternoon for two hours between mile markers 199 and 189 as crews cleared debris off the road. Deja Vu of Operation Floyd Evac! |

No problems here. I was actually in Mt. Pleasant Saturday night (my wife and I are in a band with some friends). Wind, rain, and lightning, but nothing too bad. Glad it missed us. |

The tornado that ripped through Strawberry was only like 8 miles from my house and we barely got any wind. Seems like tornadoes know to go after trailer parks. Strange ain't it? LESS THAN TWO WEEKS FOR BADNESS |
