Tim, hope your mother is improving. I found out that Doc Wong is going to host a riding clinic on Sunday, January 11 at 8:00am. Pretty sure I am going to get schooled on how to judge entry speed at any corner. Here is the link that gives you all the info: http://www.docwong.com/st-clinc/index.htm Hope to see you there.

Kaese: Thanks... I've met Larry (Doc Wong) a couple of times, but haven't done any of his rides because I don't like his chosen route.. It's almost all goat trails all the way out to the coast. If I still owned my dual-sport, I'd probably be more enthusiastic about it, but my Buell's not to comfy on bumpy, one lane back-roads like Kings Mountain and Tunitas Creek. He also likes to meet at his chiropractic office in Redwood City at a really ungodly hour to talk about the upcoming ride of the day..... I'm sorry, but weekends were made for sleeping in I don't know what riding forums you frequent, but you can also find postings for his rides/workshops on Bayarearidersforum.com (BARF) Have a great time, and let me know how you like it!! BTW... Did you make it to the American Sport Bike meet this month?? -T |

Kaese.. How'd the Doc Wong ride go?? Were you able to get any info out of it? BTW... I thought you'd like to know (since you've asked) that my Mom died a week ago, today, at UCSF Medical Center, in S.F. It seems that 7 1/2 weeks of pneumonia was just too much for her. Thankfully her passing was quite easy and painless. I hope things are going well with you, and I look forward to meeting at one of the American Sport Bike Monday meets soon! -Tim |

Stringbean, sorry to hear about your mother. You were right about the ungodly hour on that Sunday morning. I didn't make it. It was kind of cold too. I am planning on attending a suspension class on Friday evening, Feb 13. Maybe I can learn something. I all I know about suspensions is "here is the setting for a someone of your weight". The next American Sport Bike night is on Feb 2. Just realized that is next Monday.

Kaese. You use this forum more than I do... Where's the best place to ask technical questions?? (like jetting and such). Thanks! -Tim |

The jetting has probably been covered before. Probably the Knowledge Vault. Might try the search function. If you do a post make sure you list your modifications. |

Thanks, Kaese. Actually I returned my Cyclone back to stock condition a few months ago, and heard somewhere that it's a good idea to re-jet anyway. Someone mentioned reducing the size of the high speed jet from a #200 to a #195, and upping the slow-jet from a #42 to a #45. This is to be done with the HUGE stock "breadbox" and Buick muffler underneath. I'm supposed to go out on the SF Bay tomorrow morning on a 70 foot boat, called the Orca III to scatter the ashes. I haven't been on a boat in almost 10 years! I hope I don't turn too green. -Tim |

I ordered a rejet kit for my S2 and I believe I have them around somewhere. It turned out that someone had already rejetted it. Let me look around and see if I can't find them for you. The wind is up today and I hope it doesn't get too rough for you.

The swells were amazingly high as we passed under the GG Bridge today (and this was in a 70 foot, 42 Ton boat!) It was very exciting really! What a ride. I'm just glad we're not going out tomorrow. -Tim

hi all... i wasn't sure where to put this, so it goes here... i'm trying to find an independent buell mechanic in san francisco (or within 20 miles of the city)... i've been taking my bike (a 97 M2) to dudley perkins, but i'm tired of dealing with them all the time... i'd like an alternative! any suggestions? |

Cerbero, I don't know any independent wrenches in the area but I have done business with Fremont cycle. It was minor work but done correctly and most importantly the shop does not have the Harley "attitude". Good luck on your quest. |

CALLING ALL SAN FRANCISCO/BAY AREA BUELLERS! summer is finally here (80+ degrees in san francisco! whoda thunkit?) and i'd love to scrape together all (or as many as possible) of the san francisco/bay area buell owners for a sunday morning ride... i just put another 150 miles on my m2 this morning and i think it would be great to do it in a snarling pack of bad weather... my usual route runs over the golden gate, through the ggnra (hwy 1, mt. tam, ridgecrest blvd., whatever) to point reyes station (where i eat a hearty breakfast at the station cafe) then spend a few hours tearing through marin county before heading home. anyone interested? |

There are a lot of Blastards here in Cali and yet very few of us have met one another in person. Here is your opportunity to get a good set of rides in, meet the folk/friends you have been conversing with over the net and share riding stories, and enjoy the sharing of a passion we all have in common - Buell. Last years ride was a lot of fun and the roads and folk where awesome! Truely an adventure you'll remember! The twisties are calling your name - can you think of more fun filled reply?! Heres your chance to compare notes and make friends, and this is California after all - a place known for great roads - our mission is to find them! Bring your ride, make some friends and enjoy a great time! San Louis Obispo is the meeting point - join us - Ed, Scott, Erik, James, Eric, Saro and Lotti, Ryan and his lovely significant - the origionals plus already! So join us in some fun and create some memories to recall. Let the ride To SLO Part Deux Begin! Disclaimer: This ride is in no way associated with Buell, the BADWEB, or any of its organizers. This is a voluntary gathering of fans of the Buell Blast. No one is leagally responsible for another on this ride or gathering - we all agree that we are responsible adults in charge of our own behavior, and that a safe and sober ride is our own responsibility and expected of us. Housing, feeding, and personal care is each our own responsiblity. Showing up for this voluntary event will be a sign of accord of the above statement and will be taken as acceptance of such. That said: Please make sure your bike is in good working order, that you are in good working order, and that you are prepared for any contingencies that may occur (a cell phone and Brag Roadside Assistance Membership would be a great idea, any tools you feel you'll need, etc.). I will reserve a small block of rooms (8 rooms are reserved at the Travel Lodge - 1825 Monterey St., (805)543-5110), however, such rooms will be shared (unless you bring your significant other - that counts as sharing - ;0)) and any other lodging arrangements will be your own responsibility - so if you want your own room - you'll need to arrange such. The Idea and goal of this event is to meet and share a little time together having fun and enjoying a ride! Each of us may participate as much or little as they please, however, thanks to those participating so far it looks to be a promising start to a fun event! Hope to see you there and remember - ride your own ride! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |

Hey Guys, New Nor-Cal member to the site.....Great site, this is what ive been looking for since i bought my Firebolt XB12R in Nov. 04...I ride almost every day and quite frankly its like my medicine so when i dont ride im feeling under the weather... Anyways I have quite a few friends with bikes, mainly HD, custom choppers, but the couple of buells and 1 Vrod owner that i ride with ride the same style as i do....fast and fun...My buddy with the VROD just had a mild stroke at the age of 39 and we would tear it up....Some of the funnest days of life have beeen on my buell riding with the VROD...So im always looking for other riders in my area to hook up with. I am also looking into Track days in the area and what it takes to participate...I dream of taken my Firebolt on a closed track.... Look Forward to hearing from you PS....Im in Antioch,CA 45 miles east of SF... |

Maybe its just me, perhaps I'm way out of line, but I show up at these various bike meetings and there is usually a topic - hill climbing, racing, whatever - but I'm there about the ride! I want to here about what roads you went down, what they are like, what you saw on them, and their conditions. I want to hear about technique, tips and pointers for enjoying the ride even more. The spectator side of things - racing, shows, and these meetings mean very little to me. I started riding because it offered a type of peace that is unique, and is fun to participate in! I say - get off your collective arses talking about riding and go ride! So who's with me on exploring and enjoying some of the best roads that California has to offer on this next San Louis Obispo ride this 2,3,4 of April? I garrentee a great ride, great scenery, and great fun! Surely there are other folks who feel this way here and enjoy riding - what better way to express it than to ride! So come on Blastards - join me and the gang for a great ride - meeting at the Beanery at 9th and Irving at 8am on the 2nd of April to enjoy a fantastic adventure! Talk takes you nowhere, its your bike that will get you there! The gauntlet has been thrown! Who will answer this call for adventure?! And who will just stay home and wish they did - the decision is your! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |
