Clutch seems fine and the squeek is still gone, where does a electronic speedo have the pickup from?

Guell,

Thanks for the info on the new rocker.

As for the new rocker boxes, the X1 is on the back burner right now. I'm trying to get my 74 Nova running so that it can go to Dreamworks in mid march for some fabrication. Getting called into work on Saturday did not help.

Will have company in town this weekend so have to clean the house this week (bachelor lifestyle and all) and not able to ride this weekend.

When I put the engine hoist and engine stand in the shed I looked at the ole X1 just sitting there. Looked kinda lonely. THe lawnmower will keep it company for now.

was down at low country today. pretty pathetic. we got the only two buell pins they had but left the only pink hat the we say because the wife already had that one. the leather jacket was a small and it looked like some would wear out on the town with his polyester shirt or something. i'll be dropping the management a little pm. one salesman told my wife they had the new xb instock out back and another one told me there wasn't one. who knows. they did have the 1125 though.

Wow, I guess we're all so depressed about the poor state of Buell enthusiasm at Lowcountry that we don't have anything else to say.

Where'd everybody go?

So I guess mums the word.

charlie, had they been worth talking about, i would have done the same. just calling them as i see them. i rode down there mainly because they are a buell dealer. now as far as a harley dealer goes, when my coworker found this bike down there that he wanted and decided to get it there instead of one he could have gotten up here, he was excited to go down there to get it. and although he got down there and noticed that there was a big dent on the back side of the front fender, they did pull through and give him a brand new fender so he can get it painted. apparently they must have overlooked the dent when they told him what kind of shape the bike was in.

talked to one guy there and he said he was on his fifth bike from them. he was happy.

i just wish that if your gonna be a dealer for buell then step and be a dealer. if you don't then get out of it.(and yea, i tend to ramble on sometimes)

I agree 100%. They usually keep a decent selection of Buell bikes in stock, they've got at least one good Buell mechanic, and they've got Buell oil filters in stock. OK, I understand you can't economically justify having ~50 different kinds of Buell T-shirts, but you could have ONE kind of Buell T-shirt in stock in different sizes. They've even done a good job of hiding their Buell sign- it's over the service entrance and is barely noticeable. It wouldn't cost them a dime more to put the Buell sign on the big sign so you could see it from the interstate.

I have been to Low Country once. I was there with my father, he was renting some Harleys to go riding around the area during his vacation down here. I didn't even know they sold Buells till I walked in the front door. I did like the wall of bikes they had. I haven't been to too many Dealers but the one I really liked was Seminole Buell in Florida. They did it right. Had every kind of Buell at the time. had some nice displays. It was a nice setup

Lowcountry did not have the rear brake pads for my 00 X1 in stock. I thought that was unusual.

I have to give props to Gainsville HD Buell in FL. (As much as I dislike the city b/c of the Gators) They rebuilt the engine in my X1 when it took a SH*T at 5200 miles. It has turned over 15k by now. Obviously they rebuilt the engine better than the factory built it.

I order my parts from Bumpus HD in Murfreesborough, TN. I have gotten great service from them in the past.

BUELLers:

Looks like "i" will be coming up to Savannah the week end after DAYTONA BIKE WEEK ...

Will let you'll know the exact time frames as soon as they are etched in stone ...

That way if something is going on that "i" can make so "i" can be there ...

Are there any SCBR Palmetto shirts, patches? If there is not, we should see how much interest there is in getting some made. It would be cool to represent at events like Bikeweek and March Badness, or even just around town.

I wonder if there would be any issues using the pegasus.

Nick and I just made that logo a little while ago, so no patches or shirts, i was even thinking something small like a sticker.

I was thinking about it. My mother (whom lives back in Michigan) works at a T-shirt shop (creates T-shirts for local High school athletic teams) I could have her do it for just the cost of a blank blue T-shirt. But I don't know might take me a while to get them. Plus they ask a lot of questions when something has a "TM" in it. or another logo

plus we did send the logo to Buell to be registered on their website so apparently they don't have a problem with it, as long as we represent a Buell owners club I guess.

XBlaw (Eryc) will we be seeing you up at MBV?

Yessir I will be at MBV unless my pulse ceases. I have been waiting for it since MBIV. Cannot hardly wait. I am working on convincing Jeff to come w/ me. I am meeting some Harley friends in Augusta and riding up on Friday. I am staying in a cabin right off of 60, 4 miles past Suches.

And the logo is awesome. I am sure we could get someone to do it locally as well for a fairly reasonable price. If Buell Inc. does not mind, I am sure no screen-printer is going to recognize the pegasus and object. I am down for putting some money in for it. Stickers would be cool as well... but the Buell really has nowhere free to put one. I want to represent whilst riding first and foremost.

Almost March...

Well I don't know about anybody else but I am planning on staying at TWO with a very large tent. If anybody else is thinking about going but still not sure I offer up half my tent. Its like 17' x 10', 3 rooms with partitions. Just bring sleeping bag/bed etc. My wife still isn't sure if shes coming or not, she probably won't decide until Friday the 28th. So I'll feel like a dork if its just me in a ridiculously huge tent. even if its just me and the woman.

I just plan on sleeping and riding and in between refueling me and my bike. Is there anything else that goes on at this event?

riding, if the wife goes she'll take a car, but I'll ride, the SUV doesn't have a hitch, nor is it rated for one, its just a ford escape with a 4 banger in it.

gary, the 16-18 of may which from what i understand is the 2nd weekend of bike week down there.

guell, the only thing that really goes on there is a bunch of riding along with the demo rides that will go on there and hanging out with a LOT of buells. this will be my second time and my kids will be coming up also and will all be camping at the two. i'll have my truck and trailer there in case there's any problem's that i might be able to help with.

Also, the Suches Convenience Store is a highlight of the town. . Really though they have pretty good breakfast in which each person is on the honors system. Walk in eat, and hopefully pay. Not much else but riding. For the Uly riders that want to do more of the adventure riding, there are some great NF roads. And if you want to trout fish I could tell you of some good spots, but c,mon this is March BADNESS! North Georgia is more my neck of the woods. I have spent many days skipping class at UGA to go ride or fish the App.

Oh, depending on whether or not Jeff goes with me, I have an extra space in my cabin right off of 60.

Nick, the only thing to watch out for is it can be damn cold at TWO even in late March. I've been twice and seen temps from the low 30's to the low 70's.

TWO is a great place to hang out. It has a big inside eating area and a large wrap-around porch with seats. It's a great place to kick back and people/bike-watch and to just sit around and BS. Food in TWO is very good too. Great roads all over. Find a couple of guys to ride with and take off. Oh yea, don't forget the Buell test ride bikes will be there, and you'll always get some kind of cool freebie (T-shirt, sling bag, neck warmer, etc.) for taking a ride.

Nick, if your wife drives, she will be in serious twisties starting about 15 miles east of Suches on highway 60. Make sure she's OK with that kind of driving.

HA, cold weather, everyone at work thinks I'm crazy for riding in Sub 30C weather. They ask me what is the lowest temperature I'll ride in and I tell them the bike doesn't want to start in lower than 20 F temps.

as for twisties, my wife can't handle traffic, but she can handle Ceaser's Head pretty well
