Babired - thanks for the feedback. First order to TouraTech this weekend. Ratbuell - I'll definitely make the ride up from Silver Spring. Well as soon as my NEW XT's engine light issue gets resolved at the dealership....Grrr |

Ratbuell, I'm loading the Uly up with goodies I just got the GPS system last night, heated grips too. Now I have to find a dealer who isn't busy right now to get the GPS hardwired to my bike before May 4th Going to Memphis for 2 weeks on the Uly want all of the comforts in place! K |

Hey Dan, I have both on my bike both are easy to install. I love the oil guard the sidestand puck I had to get used to but since I'm tippy toed on my Uly it will come in handy on soft surfaces for me. I got the pegs too, they are nice but fatter than the stock pegs so the space is decreased between shift and rear brake pedals to the peg. American sportbike has a pair of pegs with more grip. In the rain you'll notice how slippy your stock pegs are. K |

Babired - I run PIAA powersports lights on my S2. If that ancient beast can handle them, and my heated gear, I'd guess the Uly can too. Make sure to get the powersports versions though, they have slightly different reflectors and 35w bulbs instead of 50w bulbs. I also have the Kuryakn LED voltmeter on that bike (same as Al has at American Sport Bike)...coming soon to my Uly once I start bolting crap on it too, LOL. Dan - I think our group definitely leans towards the "disorganized" and "irregular"...but we'd love to have you join us sometime for a ride. Hell, I'd love to have ME join the rest for a ride sometime, but I work every weekend.... Good bunch of folks though. Typically one or two will drop by Frederick on a weekend day - if you're out and about, swing by and say hi, and congrats on the new ride! |

Welcome back, Marcus! Hope you and yours are all well and safe. Good for you for rewarding yourself...I think that Buell will keep rewarding you, as well as the great community here online and on the road. Keep riding, reading, and chiming in, and find new roads. Manassas is right on the edge of some of the best riding in the country. |

Breakneck; are you saying you were BORN in 1992? Please say that was a typo, because I feel REALLY REALLY old right now. On a Buell-related topic, I'm in Havre de Grace, MD and occasionally stray into Delaware when I'm not being careful enough to avoid it. hehe Point being, you wanna ride, let me know. Post-post edit: forgot to tell you that you got a sweet ride. Had a blue Firebolt pass through my garage last year, brought back memories. (Message edited by smiley1eye on September 08, 2009) |

Wow you guys hit double digits, I'm jealous. I'm in Indiana handling the sale of our house out here, got up to 7 degrees, but at least the wind chill kept us well below zero. I think anything a few degrees above freezing is riding weather, long live electric liners. I was reading about the Buell gathering at the Dragon in May 2013, think I'll reserve a room (getting a little long in the tooth for camping to be first choice). I might even trailer down from DC, I will have room on my trailer if someone is interested in helping with the fuel bill (my rig gets 18-20 mpg loaded with two full size bikes). |

Much as I enjoy being chilled to the f-ing bone even I rarely ride when it's this cold. Nothing like a 70mph wind chill to take temps below 0. |

I hear ya, but sometimes you want to ride more than you want to stay cozy. On a late fall trip up into the Alps in 2010 we rode up in cool and overcast weather, we awoke to find our bikes looking like this. After several coffee and bread sessions, the plows came through and we continued on our route-without electric clothing. I am on my 08 Buell XB12X and my friend Dave on a F800GS

My friend on the BMW uses whatever the BMW Uber Masters recommend, he follows OEM Gospel. I can say that without a doubt I am running Dunlop SportMax front and rear on my Uly. The roads were wet, not Iced over. |
