Yesterday was a great day for a ride even though I was too sick to go into work. The S1W has been consuming all my time and has turned out to be a total rebuild so I am thinking about not touching the S1W on Saturday and riding up North to visit Jammin. It is a little ways (around 120 miles if I take I-25... no fun in that) but it will give me chance to get the Firebolt out again. Are you working on Saturday Jammin??? It is suppose to be around 60 degrees here.... What is the forecast for the weather up North? Frank |

Frank - they're still calling for mid to upper 50s for Saturday. If you stick around there for a while, I'll buzz over on Loretta. Gonna stop by Dan's on the way home today and meet him, would be great to meet another BadWeBber. Z |

Zack, it should be in the 60s down here but I see Colorado Springs has about the same forecast as you guys up North. Boy, I sure would like to see Dan's Buell collection and your 1125. And your right it would be nice to meet a couple of BadWebers. I hope our little section on the BadWeb takes off this summer and we are able to have some rides that everyone in the state can participate in. I really enjoyed the NM Taos Rally last year with the Denver crowd and the NM crowd.... I am trying to figure out how to leave work early LOL... It is really today! Frank |

I've got to do some errands for a disabled friend tomorrow. I can do them early or late, 'cause I want to be riding from noon to three or thereabouts. Y'all want to meet at HC HD around noon or earlier, then go pester Dan for a while then ride to Estes or something? He's got a nice shop, I'd kinda like to hang around for a pull or two. Maybe I could talk Dan into Dyno-ing my 1125... I went to Boulder on 119, 36 to Lyons and 66 back to Longmont today and the roads were clean and mostly dry. Z 720-494-0784 |

We had about a dozen riders stop in High Cntry H-D/Buell today so I knew the road from Mickey Dees had cleared. One was a Lightning we sold not too may weeks ago and needed break in miles. Sat should be clear and dry for riding visitors. 9 to 5 are the hours Sat. 9 to 5 is my time so ride for those of us who can't stop and say if you are near by. ~jammer |

Zack, Steve, Dave and Dan It was great meeting you all today. Dave, if you could of heard the conversation in my head about the 1125 you would of kept on me to take it out for a spin LOL. Dan, whenever you are ready to sell I promise I will take good care of one of those Westwinds... The ride home just sucked... The winds got worse the further South I went but at least no 18 wheelers were blown over on the return trip like the one up there. I hit some ice in Monument but it was not much, just increased the pucker factor a notch or ten. After Monument I could not get warm again.... Made it home safe and sound with 20 miles showing on the reserve tank because I was too cold to stop and get gas... LOL Here are some of the pics I took.

Nice, Frank. Good pix, really enjoyed today. Glad you made the long ride, was great meeting you and Steve. Too bad you had to go, we had a nice ride up to Lyons. Got spat on a tiny bit by melted snow blowing in, but the roads were fine and the scenery was pretty good for January. Can't wait till it's warmer and we can do group rides into the hills. Again, thanks for being part of this most excellent day! Z |

Hey guys, thanks for letting me tag along...it was fun. It was a nice ride up to Lyons, especially for JANUARY! I will have to have Dan do a little magic on my bike at some point in the future (probably in a year when it is out of factory warranty). Keep me posted on any rides. |

Steve, it was great meeting you too and as we have rides down South I will let everyone know. I think Dan is the man when it comes to modifying your engine. When I get my 98 S1W together and start on the Sportster I think I will take the motor to Dan as well. Your right, not a bad day for January. I wish the weather would have held out a bit longer. It was not pleasant for the 120 mile trip home. Could you let me know some of the web sites you used for your gear? I really need to get the pigtail for the heated gloves and put it on all my bikes. I was really impressed with the setup you have on your Uly. Frank |

Frank, after riding in front of Steve for a while... Those lights work. Maybe get some 1125 mirror/signals and put a set of those lights Steve had, where your signals are now. Steve - had a blast, anytime you wanna ride, give me a call. Z |

Hey Frank: My heated gear comes from http://www.warmnsafe.com/. My Kaoko barends/throttle lock came from Adventure Workshop, but I would consider the new ones from Darkhorse Moto (http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/326966.html?1199591718). I like Zack's idea of using the 1125R mirrors, then adding aux light where your blinkers where. There are many great lights out there, so do a little research, but I love the Autoswitch that I use to turn them on and off (http://www.cyclegadgets.com/Products/product.asp?I tem=AS). I guess that is it. Let me know if there is anything else you need. |

Thanks Steve, I was actually more interested in the warm weather gear after yesterdays ride home LOL. I think I will keep the Firebolt stock and try to figure out an alternative for the front lights that will keep the stock look. I don't do much night riding and I usually take another bike if I do. Post your pics when you get the chance. We will have to do more riding come spring. Frank |

Frank, Dan and I got the warm-n-safe jacket liner, the Gerbing heated pants and I got the Gerbing gloves and Dan is getting the Gerbing socks (still on order for the past 2 mo). Have only been out once to try them and it definitely was nice and warm. We were hoping to go out yesterday but didn't want to deal with the wind. So instead, we went looking for dirt bikes. I'm looking to get a Kawasaki KLX140 and Dan's looking at a Kawa KLX450. Glad you guys were all safe. |

Julie, shopping for dirt bikes is always fun. Lynn and I were just talking about how fun it would be to get a couple of dirt bikes. I have not ridden in the dirt since the 70's and Lynn never has. I bet a lot has changed since the last time I rode in the dirt LOL. Thanks for the info on the heated gear. My job today (besides what I get paid to do) is to research a little more and see what I find. I need to have a setup that I can switch from bike to bike. I really liked Steve's (Maximum) setup... BTW: The wind was pretty bad and the worse spot was just North of the AF Academy and that is were the 18-wheelers were blown over. Frank |

I had a dream last night that I test rode an 1125R and was doing wheelies and scraping knees, and wondering if I should sell my Scg for one. Oh well, just a dream. I'll keep the Scg for a while. Enjoy it, it sounds like a great bike. A friend of mine gave me a DVD on beginner dirt bike exercises. Can't wait to get the bike and go play. Am looking forward to hauling both sets of bikes and play on the street, then go into the hills on the dirt bike and see things that can't be seen from the street. Lots of pictures I hope. Hm. Finally took the time to check this side of the forum. Well, been talking to a friend of mine who's the son of the owner of Gainesville HD (he works there to boot and they are a very Buell friendly dealer. Have it all.) about the 1125R. Prices he gave me was $12,300 OTD with it being CO registered and $12,800 OTD with FL registered. It's got my wheels turning in my head. So... Parents are planning on a trip end of June to ride up here. Thinking of getting a 1 way ticket to fly home a week before. Getting the bike. Finishing break in (which I can easily do in a week) and riding with them back here. |

I can't say enough good stuff about the 1125. I have never had this much fun with a new toy. I finally got new oil filters, Sun got some in, so Loretta got her first load of Syn3 last night. 1044 miles since Dec 18th. Monday and Tuesday look nice, Wed- Thu not. 12˚ now, s'posed to get to 42, yesterday was beautiful. I even saw a few Harleys out. Z |

Took a mountain ride today. Longmont-Lyons-Allenspark-Estes Park-Loveland-Home. Almost no sand/gravel on the trip. Quite a bit of Mag-Chloride residue, tho, and water; Loretta's filthy. Fuel light came on outside Allenspark, rolled/coasted into Estes on fumes.

Nice pics Zack, I took the S2 out on Saturday until I got too cold and took the XB12R out Sunday but I stayed in the Colorado Springs, Fountain and Falcon area. I saw a lot of Harley and Harley clones out and one minivan with a girl on a Cell phone that ran a stop sign and went out of her way to try and hit me. It scared the crap out of Lynn since she was behind me. I love the front brakes on the XB now LOL. Frank |

Dan and I took a short ride on Sun down Jackson 105 to Perry Park. It was beautiful but WINDY. Had a hard time staying on the road. It felt soooo good to be out again. Now get to play with the new dirt bikes we got on Saturday. Dan's already downstairs as I write modifying it. Boys and their toys!!!!! |

Zac, or anyone for that matter. Next time you're up in the Loveland/Greeley area hit me up! My XB is still in the shed on stands, getting its finishing touches before spring but I'd love to chat and maybe even dig it out for a little ride |
