"Isn't most/all of the activities at or around the factory?" No, not all. Road America is over an hour north, Summerfest is about 40-45 minutes east in Downtown Milwaukee. Andy is probably closer to RA being up in Appleton. Nut, you gotta see Summerfest. Hope its hot. Pray its hot. Bring a good digital cam. |

40-45 minutes? Try 10-15 minutes once you're on the freeway without a traffic jam. |

"40-45 minutes? Try 10-15 minutes once you're on the freeway without a traffic jam." From E.T. Summerfest is 10 minutes? Nooo way, downtown is 20 from Brookfield. Unless you're riding 120. |

My mistake, thought you were talking from Moorland/I-94. Brookfield/Moorland to downtown Milw is about 10-12 miles per Mapquest, 120mph is not recommended. |

Mike, how long of a ride is it to ET from Hal's? |

Freeway without traffic is about 5-10 minutes on Moorland to hit I-43, then 20-40 minutes to Buell drive if you take the second E.T. exit. If you take National down you're looking at 30-60 minutes depending upon how many lights you hit and how observant of the speed limit you are. During one of the Homecomings, a rather large group of us met up at Hal's and then rode en-masse down to Buell on National. Didn't necessarily obey the stop lights once they turned green for the lead riders and had several people acting as anarchist traffic stoppers for the following group. I think that took about 40 minutes or less (if I recall correctly) to get to the gas station north of the town circle where everyone regrouped and we finally got a local P.D. escort the final mile or so to the factory. |

Has anybody heard if there are any plans for a dyno shootout like was done a few years ago? If not does anybody have any connections with Hals to maybe get one organized. I would love to put up at least a 120hp run and see if anybody can beat it. |

Maybe one but then again every stock 1125R will kick its butt. Perhaps we can get Pammy to bring her X1. |

Not talking about anything water cooled. I'm pretty sure I can beat Pamys X1. That would be a good competition actualy. |

Newfie- I'll touch base with you as the date gets closer but I think that would be pretty cool to meet up somewhere along the way. Other than New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland, the only travelling I've done in Canada is along the Minnesota border. Winnepeg and Thunder Bay are the only cities I've been in around there. I should probably get a passport so they let me back in when I want to come home. |

Buelliedan,I'm not sure you want to mess with that X1 of Pammy's.The last dyno run I saw was 158HP. at AMI in FLA. much time has passed since...Great idea though. |

Take it this way, you don't go over 200 mph at Bonneville with less than 180hp. |

Dan, Are you proposing that you'd enter a 100" nitro-powered racing engine in order to beat Pammy's 88" pump gas powered X1 street bike? |

Blake, I would love to see Pammys bike pull that number on 93 octane or less pump gas. who are you kidding? I never said what bike I would use. You are making assumptions. (Message edited by buelliedan on December 28, 2007) |

Yes, some very well educated assumptions. Put up or shush amigo. What kind of engine would you propose to employ in a contest against Pammy's 88" naturally aspirated Cycle Rama X1 street bike? |

I should post the disclaimer that I have absolutely zero knowledge of whether or not Pammy is planning on attending Buell Homecoming. With her new grand-daughter keeping her tightly wrapped around her little baby pinky finger, I kinda doubt it. Which is a shame, on account of I'm planning to visit during Homecoming. FMJ, got a room-mate? |
