it actually was, i cant believe that the bigger m2 clamp with threaded holes in it was 18 bucks compared to a 52 dollar s3 clamp. We should go riding sometime along with jeff and hugh if he can make it. I havnt really ridden in a few weeks. |

If you guys are going to ride, give me a call. I don't check email regularly. 843-200-8763 My bike is starting to make some new noises. I'm thinking it's the clutch. With 15k I can't complain. Any clutch experts out there? Jeff |

Went on the Veterans Charity Run from local Honda dealer to Veterans Hospital with my son and N Nelligan. Spotted two other Buells amongst all the chrome. There were gobs of bikes from just about all makes there. Appears everyone made it there w/o mishaps. Dropped off the gifts and after a bit of conversation and people watching, went back to the house. Great weather but need the rain.... |

well mouting this damn tach has become a huge pain. The speedo doesnt drop into the newer 1999+ dash. WONDERFUL! Ive already cut some of it out, and i realized it aint gonna go. So i think im cutting out all of the speedo side underneath, use the old metal shell the 97 speedo came out of, epoxy that in, and let that be, it shouldnt be seen, well i hope not. Time for some dinner and beer and back out i go to give it another try. Matt |

And, its now back together in its stock form, the old speedo will not mount properly. Im going to see if i can find the correct one on ebay. BAH! |

Matt, Sounds like you stepped in a bucket of fetal matter.LOL Sorry to hear your having so much trouble. If I can help give me a hollar. Could you start over with a blank plate of alum. and cut the right size holes with a bend at the bottom for the handlebar mount? Should be able to find a piece of scrap at the machine shop. |

Truk, I do. I use the VDSTS and Key Span cable adapter. Are you having problems? |

My second XB9R. Just got it. A 2007 barely used at a price to good...so it is in the garage. I have service manual and did most of the work on my prior bike myself. It came with 1107 miles. The 1000 mile service had not been done, though it had been sold back to a HD with 1039 miles. I am changing fluids, adjusted clutch cable, checking brakes, throttle, etc... But it calls for TPS reset. Actually feels to be working spot on...mileage good, etc.. I used to take mine to Augusta HD. They had a top Buell tech there, loved Buells, had Buells, and I trusted him to do my TPS...but he is gone Not sure I have confidence in local HD and been checking into getting equipment and learning to do it myself Where did you get yours...how hard to learn....been reading on the web how easy it is... your thoughts and recommendation |

I got mine from Al at American Sportbike. It’s pretty straight forward; the critical part of the reset is the “zeroing” of the TPS. If it is not at zero it can throw the whole thing out. The reset essentially tells the ECM where zero is. The instructions are fairly clear. The whole reset took me a total of 5 minutes. |

Maybe a bunch of us should meet up somewhere for a gather/TPS reset. I don't think mine needs it but it wouldn't hurt. I didn't get it done at the 1000 mile service interval. Truk, where did you get your bike at? Pretty soon I'm going to be doing a 5000 mile service interval |

Tailspining - Thanks... I will give them a call. Drfudd - I Saw it on Ebay...then it was pulled of shortly before end of bid. Called the guy day or two later. Found out the original bidder couldn't get his money together after all. The Bike was in Charlotte. Drove up and made an offer. Tailspining - I think Drfudd's idea about getting together sometime for a TPS reseting training session appeals to me too. Maybe after I get mine in hand...and weather gets better. Love riding in the mtns anyway, so wouldn't mind coming up your way one day for a quick "show-me" session if you are up to it |

Truk, Also check for a recent thread (maybe in Big, Bad, and Dirty) on improving the accuracy of a TPS reset. Evidently the "stop" on the side of the throttle body can be rotated a degree or two by loosening a couple of bolts. Somebody hit on a way of ensuring "zero" is really "zero". The author of the thread had a bike with all the symptoms of a mal-adjusted TPS and repeated TPS resets didn't cure it. He claims after he did his adjustment and then reset the TPS, it made a big difference in their bike's low speed performance. I think it'd be worth checking out as long as you're doing a TPS reset. |

Hey Guys, whether or not if we are an actual group or not we do act like one. So its only fitting that we have a logo like some of the other groups on this forum. So I was bored and I created this one. If anybody else has any good ideas, let me know. I've only lived in South Carolina for two years now so I'm no native, but I decided to use SC's state flag as the base and add stuff to it. I'm no designer, I just know how to use graphics software. Let me know what you think.
And here is the thumbnail version:
