rode an fjr 1300 for the first time on a two hour jaunt thrugh the mountains... and i loved it if i were going to travel quite a bit i'd have me one of those who wants a beemer when this thing can outperform it. even with the suspension on a soft setting (i didnt want to change my friends settings ) i was able to blast at 80+. |

I love my heated vest. I rode for a couple of hours today, stayed nice and toasty like I was tucked into my bed! |

Man, what a long day. My flight from ATL to Memphis was delayed, and I had to hurry to make it to my connecting flight to Louisiana. The connection was then delayed due to mechanical problems for a while before they just gave up and switched us to a different plane. The new plane was originally bound for Houston and had too much fuel in it, so we had to spend an extra 45 mins in the air flying in circles around Arkansas to burn it off. It took me 10 hours to make a trip that should've taken two if I'd gotten a direct flight. Whew! |

its amazing the way fuel cost are that the airlines even still just fly in circles to get rid of the extra. Seems like it would take less time to just pump out the unwanted fuel and probably save a poopload of money before it takes off. |

> Seems like it would take less time to just pump out the unwanted fuel They do have a procedure for that, but the pilot said there was a 2.5 hour wait for the unpumping truck. |

Charlie, it is pretty awesome with an electric like power delivery. haven't tried to top it out yet, but during break-in i was doing very quick roll on-off in 4th from 6000rpm(83mph) to 7500rpm(115mph). slight burble at 5200rpm at constant throttle only, geared/idle a little high for doing tight circles at constant power. very well mannered in the handling/suspension department. did a little over 130 miles after setting it up at my friend's house friday afternoon and then did an oil change.(no oil filters available) rode a little over 600 miles saturday finishing off in a rain storm the last 100 in the dark. changed oil and cleaned filter yesterday at 757 miles. my new best motorcycle accessory is the heated grips SMHDB installed! only dislike is the throttle return spring tension-right wrist was noodley towards the end. got parked on the interstate at a crawl for a wreck and found out about the hotfoot reports-never noticed while moving. i hope my drivers license can handle this bike!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! tim |

Merry Christmas ya'll. We made it to Pa. ok. It was Anna's first flight. Everything was easy except the fact that they lost her luggage with every single piece of clothing we packed for her. She has one sleeper. They said they might have it tonight by 10:00 but no guarantees. I'm trying to stay cool about it but my video camera was in there. The camera can be replaced but not the hours of footage on the tape inside. Looks like another white X-mass for us. Luckily her snow suit was in my bag. Smoke.....I'm green. |

j.c. for me it should do well as a sport tour, although the luggage capability is suspect. i bought the deluxe tankbag and found some of the r series saddlebags that will fit and will be picking up a tailbag next. i am used to doing my touring on the road king so i will have to adjust the load to fit. the tankbag forces my head above the shield, so at high speed my neck gets a workout. i rested my chin on the bag and pushed down hard which worked out better for wind but may not have been the most advantageous position for running on the street. around 80mph anywhere i left my head was fine. i think a taller fellow may be a little cramped as the miles wore on, but at 5'6", 155lbs there was plenty of room and i put the corbin seat on yesterday. it feels a little wider which detracts from my touching the ground at a stop, but while moving it feels fine. have not done any long miles yet with the corbin but i will. charlie, i like the one with the red accents best. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! tim |

I think Cameron and I have struck a deal so the Cherry Bomb 12R with BS's old S tail section on it, should be mine soon. I want to put the white R body work on it and I will have all the red bits with the bike. All I would need for the amber is an amber windscreen and some tires and I am all set. MERRY CHRISTMAS |
