Just implemented a feature to allow you to use the following to navigate to your main page here. The idea is to make it a bit easier to tell folks about your forum here. Now you can just list links as "BadWeatherBikers.com/PBR" or rattle off "Bad Weather Bikers dot com slash PBR".

BadWeatherBikers.com/PBR

or...

BadWeatherBikers.com/pbr

Here's a update on Track Days for PBR.

Janice Logan returned my call. Here's what PSSR can offer us. They will issue to Latus Motors a pack of passes that I can forward to any one who wants to participate on any PSSR track day as long as they have openings. Instead of paying the singular $210.00, they will discount that price to $140.00 per track day event. Thats a savings of $70.00 per event! That should make it a little more affordable for everyone. Let's figure that in to some discussions about dates, that way we can guarantee our spot at that particular event. As Janice points out, they run rain or shine, and its the best track in the USA to learn how to go fast in the wet!

I'll be working at the Expo Motorcycle Show this weekend, please stop by to say hello if your there.

Kenny, this is a great deal. I am in for two day's.
April 22 Tues,
June 3 Tues,

What do you think about posting this under the Pacific Northwest thread as well for more visibility?
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 486.html?1197073067

You might also consider listing the dates under your sponsor thread as well and state that it's open to all Oregon and Washington riders along with the maximum group size that can sign up.

With the holidays going on right now it might be difficult to get a lot of riders to commit.

I also have another question. I currently have a textile suit that will zip together. Is this sufficient for a first time out or will i need to get a leather set.

I just got back from the Portland Expo Motorcycle Show, Seattle its not. But you get to visit with our local dealers etc. There is a lot of interest in the new 1125R and lots of Buell interest period. Got to like that. I gave out my business card to several local Buellers with info to BWB's, maybe we get some new people, time will tell.

I'll finish up with Janice tomorrow and get back to you guys early in the week. For now there's no rush to get any monies in.

All is looking very good for next year so far, I'm excited to be a part of it.

Thanks for letting me participate, more good stuff to come,

Kenny

Here's what I learned last year during the Ducati track day I went to(just as a spectator). The track days are broken down into 3 classes. A, B and C.
C is for anyone and everyone, as long as the bike passes tech. The clothing requirements (at this event) were as follows: jeans ok (riding pants preferred), riding jacket(leather or textile), riding boots, gloves and helmet.
B is faster pace, requiring leather jacket with pants that attach to the jacket, though 1 piece was preferred. All appropriate riding gear, boots, gloves helmet, etc.
A is faster yet, requires 1 piece leather suit, plus all the appropriate riding gear + body armor, including a back armor plate.

Please realize that I've not been to a track day as a participant and these rules could have been event specific. But I'm sure that they can't be too far off from the reality.

In most cases the lights and mirrors had to be covered or removed. Track plastics(when applicable) were recommended. You now know everything I remember. Hope this helps. Of course the final say would be the people at the track, it wouldn't hurt to send an email to them, or the people sponsoring the event to find out what the actual requirements are.

I'm really glad you all are very stoked up about this, it will be fun!

First off, riding apparel, go to PSSR's website and check on requirements. Leathers are best, a zip together fabric is next, you will need good boots that cover the ankle, and gauntlet type gloves. Jeans are just not a good idea, buy used if you have to, its worth it. A good helmet that doesn't flop around on your head, a nice clear (scratch free) visor is recommended.

PSSR does the 3 groups, A, B, C. A is really fast pro type guys. Tripp Nobles type. B class are guys with experience and several track days under thier leathers, and maybe some competition experience. Some of us may get to go out in the this class.

C is novice, this is the absolute best place to start if you have never done this. Trust me on this, you will gain more confidence in C class and you will be more confident in your skills so that moving to B class will be no big deal.

Track Days are all about seat time, the more you do this the better you will get. Don't think Rossi, thinks small steps, best approach in my opinion. Developing your track day riding skills is different from fast public road riding, you will go faster and lean further that ever before. Instead of looking for chickens in the road, you will be concentrating on when to brake prior to a corner. Hone your skills and log them into your subconscious one lesson at a time.

One thing you may want to invest in prior to actual PSSR track Day is obtaining a copy of Sport Riding Techniques by Nick Ienatsch. You can probably purchase a very good used copy on Amazon for next to peanuts. An excellent book.

I'm waiting for Janice Logan to send me the registration forms, I saw her this weekend, she promised to get them to me. Please do not send any monies or call Latus Motors, the money will get lost, and no one will know what you are talking about. Please be patient its all coming together.

I may have a very big surprise on tomorrow's post. Please stay tuned.

Here's the link to PSSR, please check it out. I see they want everyone with a back protector this year. I'll talk with Paul B. at Latus and see if I can arrange a group discount, no promises, but I will ask.

Found this on another site(www.motocorsa.com), thought it would be a good idea to share this as well as the PSSR list, since it does show minor differences. Particularly in the helmet requirements. I don't post this to discourage anyone, but it's good to know the possibilities before you plop down a few hundred to find out 1 piece of gear doesn't meet tech.

Track Day 101

20 minute sessions (A=Advanced, B=Intermediate, C=Novice) run from 9am to 4pm (5pm when available). All motorcycles and rider’s gear must pass Tech Inspection before entering the track. Lunch is provided. There is an average of 10-12 instructors per track day. “Jumping” between groups is not allowed unless rider been advised by an instructor.

Gear requirements
• All groups: Helmets must be Full-Face style, Snell (or BSA) approved, with a full face shield. Flip face styled helmets are not allowed.

• All riders are recommended to wear one-piece leather motorcycle riding suits with armor at knees, elbows and shoulders. Two-piece leathers and textile style suits are allowed in C group but recommended that they zip together and must include armor in the knees, elbows and shoulders. Hard back protectors are required. Motorcycle boots with armor and armored gloves required.

• Gear will have to pass Tech Inspection with motorcycle.

Motorcycle requirements
• Bike must be in good mechanical condition with no leaks!

• Brakes should have a minimum of 50% pad remaining and the chain and sprockets should be in good condition.

• Tires must have a minimum of 75% tread depth and correct tire pressure.

• Mirrors, headlight, taillight, turn signals, and reflectors must be taped up if left on the motorcycle.

• License plate must be removed.

• Ideally, we would like to see everybody running distilled water instead of coolant in their radiators, but it's not required.

• Show up with a full tank of gas. There is a gas station nearby, but there is none available at the track.

Riding Groups

A Group (Expert)
Intended for very fast and experienced track riders and racers who are capable of riding at a fast pace. No passing restrictions (no passing in turns 7 - 9). Details discussed at the mandatory rider's meeting.

B Group (Advanced)
Intended for experienced street and track riders who are capable of riding at an accelerated track pace. No passing first two laps. Then, courteous outside passes are permitted with a 6' minimum cushion (no passing in turns 7 - 9). Personal coaching by staff instructors is available. Details discussed at the mandatory rider's meeting.

C Group (Beginner)
Intended for beginner street riders looking to improve their riding skills at a fun and quick pace on a closed course. Mandatory classroom instruction and coaching from the staff instructors throughout the day. No passing, for the first half of the day. Sessions after lunch are open for courteous passing on the front and back straights. Details discussed at the mandatory rider's meeting.

Hey guys,

I received the 'guest' registration forms from Janice Logan at PSSR today. These are $70.00 off discounted prices, you will only pay $140.00 instead of the regular $210.00. Many thanks to Janice and PSSR for their generosity.

So what's up, has anyone seen the new 1125R yet. Paradise was supposed to have one on thursday and Latus on friday. Did anyone ever slip in and see it before the lucky SOB that already owned it picked up his stupid fast bike with frickin' radiators and dumb a$$ flat torque curve? Damn I want one.

If anybody goes to the RAM tonight make sure Rocky gives you details, then relay please.

Went to Paradise hopefully to see it in person to find out it left within two hours of being put out.

They have two more in January with no deposits on them. You should go for it.

Latus was talking about having one available for us to test ride at the PIR track. You should try to make it.

1125R is a neat looking bike. I give up on asking about an ETA, the sales guys started giving me a hard time because I'd asked so often. The owner knew it was comming in and picked it up soon after we finished set up.

C'mon Aron, just a little peek wouldn't hurt.
Actually...., while you're there you might as well see about a test ride, wouldn't hurt.
You know..., your garage has plenty of space, one more bike wouldn't hurt.
Yeah, seeing one in person may be "dangerous" but it wouldn't hurt.
Feel free to swing by with a big grin after your purchase

Actually with multiple bikes my XB has been able to take a break. This weekend I will finally get around to putting my new tires on as well.

The XB seems to be very temperamental in the rain. I think too much water gets into the filter soaking it. I have had none of the issues in the cold/Rain with the FZ1.

Sometimes trying to achieve maximum HP has it downsides if you are trying to use it for an all weather all purpose bike.

Oh well, I guess thats why I keep buying more bikes. The Buell may just become my weekend warrior/track bike
