As I type this it is 15 degrees outside with snow on the ground and more in the forecast. It is kinda of hard to think about a summer ride to East Troy but for the Colorado Buellers that are attending this will be the place to list routes, departure times and general plans. Lynn and I plan on heading up on the 30th of June at Dark Thirty and take two days to get there. I am almost sure we will head North to Colorado Springs and take 24 East to 71 North and pickup 76 to 80. My general plans are to stay over night somewhere. I will try to make as many miles I can the first day (around 600 miles) so that will put us somewhere around east Nebraska. We will not have a chase truck because Lynn rides her own (2007 XLN). I will be on the 96 S2T. If anyone is going with a chase truck that would be a great reason to hookup somewhere. Frank |

Zack, I wanted to move our discussion from the 25th thread to here so the CO riders could benefit. I am still undecided on my mode of transportation out to homecoming. It largely depends on if Lynn can go or not. I am buying a toy hauler soon, although I would rather ride, and since I am staying at the host hotel I really do not want to haul it but since Lynn wants to take her bike as well that might be what we do. If Lynn cannot go then I am riding but will probably take two days to get there and two days back. As far as the 1125 vs S2T discussion; I loved the old S2 advertisement. Careful, one guy went out for milk and ended up somewhere in WY! |

Ok, as we get closer are plans are coming together for Homecoming. As it stands now, with gas prices, we are leaning towards riding. Lynn has never done that kind of distance on her Sporty so we will take the most direct route on the interstate. We will be leaving after work on June 27th and hope to get a couple of hundred miles in before we stop for the night. Does anyone else have planed routes and times yet???? |

Hey Frank, Last year I headed the most direct route from Denver and basically was I-76 to I-80 all the way to the Chicago area, then north to East Troy. I did it with my son on the back in two days! This year we are taking the scenic route, leaving on the 27th and going via South Dakota (Black Hills), through the Bad lands, across Iowa, then into Wisconsin. We plan to arrive on the 1st, having only ridden about 250-300 miles per day. There will be two Uly's and my son on a Blast. We will be doing very little interstate traveling as we have tried to pick out a more scenic route to get there. Let me know if you and Lynn want to join us on the trip out. We can adjust our departure time and plan a little if needed. Steve |

Steve, I would love to go that route but Lynn has family in Fond Du Lac, WI and we need to get there a day or so early so she can visit with the folks. She is uncertain about riding but I think she can do it. I will talk to her about your route and if I can swing it I will. I will let you know. Zac and Dan, do you guys know your plans yet? Frank |

Getting close and I'm starting to think more about the trip. I may work Monday the 30th, my boss is gonna throw some OT my way just before I leave. Should be heading out Monday or Tuesday, either way. Planning 2 days riding time each way. Loretta's finally running right again and I'm excited about another road-trip. Gotta stop in and talk to Dan soon... Z |

Zac: Are you staying at the host hotel? I may be coming home in two days, but I haven't totally decided yet. I'll catch up with you at Homecoming about the trip home. |

Zac and Steve, well I think we are set to leave Friday after work on the 27th. We will take the direct route and will stay in Fond du Lac for a couple of days then check into the Host Hotel on the 2nd. We will be leaving to come back the morning of the 6th. I do not know how Lynn will hold up to the trip on her Sporty and for that matter I do not know how I will hold up on the S2T either. We all need to get together for a photo op and maybe a brew for all the CO guys and gals. My S2T will be easy to spot. It is Quick Silver in color with purple big bags on it. Frank |

I was easier to spot last year (before the red XT was introduced)....although I still might be the only Red XB12X there, but look for the extremely loud hi-vis yellow jacket just to make sure! |
