OHHH!! I'll be at Road America racing in the CCS races and hope to be able to stay for the Moto-ST races on Sunday. I say hope because I have to report for a grad class late Sunday in Iowa City. Unfortunately, I have to be in class for two weeks, so I don't think I'll be able to come to the Iowa Speedway event either. Everything is about timing... |

Ralph- Do you know the schedule of when you are racing during the Homecoming? I'm working on my schedule and sure don't want to miss your glory. The parade lap on the track would be fun since I won't be racing. |

Greetings Mike, I got back from racing at MidAmerica late last night. It was a very successful day with two 4th places and one 5th place finish and decreasing lap times in every race. Craig came and took lots of photos, I haven't seen them yet, but I'm sure they're outstanding. On Saturday, Mike Boomer completed race licensing school, Dave Abbas took the Orientation school but had a low side late in the afternoon with his new Gixxer 1000. I heard the damage was very light thanks to new frame sliders, Troy Walbaum ran the track day and did a little agricultural riding as well but excaped without incident. Katie Boomer did the "Try The Track" but someone crashed so her track time was severely shortened. Anyway, I'll be running Lightweight Formula 40 on Friday, July 6 and 7th for sure. I'd like to add two more races into the weekend but I haven't decided on which two. I'm hoping to just hang out with the Buell faithful on Sunday and watch the ASRA and Moto-ST races. I'll be sending out the full race report today. |

Hey guys (and possibly gals too) ! I just started riding street a couple months ago. I made the switch from dirt, I'm not sure how well the dirt riding experience will help on the street, with well you know, laws and rules and moving cars lol.I live in Dexter , and buells around here seem pretty scarce.Ive been to a few Bike nights here and there and same thing. So hopefully I can meet some people around Iowa that I can ride with..Like I said I have 30 plus years of riding experience..just not on the street!! so give me a shout, I plan on riding to Anamosa this weekend to go to the hillclimb.. It appears I need to get some pics of my bike on here too....I hate the color! But 7500 for a brand new xb9r with only 5 miles on it. well I can live with it until I figure out what color to paint it!! (not a bad price?) Gr8Buzz |

Gr8Buzz - Where did you get this deal at? Zylstra's? I am starting to seriously look, I got up at 4:30 this morning to drive 4 hours to look at one in Libertyville. I am going to have to pass on it (gotta sell the stuff I got first), but if you come across any other such deals, let me know. |

Craig, are you still trying to sell yours? you listed it, what, a year ago? I might be interested, depending on a few things. I would rather have a 9R, but I may have to settle for a SX, the 9R's are hard to find around here used. Let me know if it is still for sale, and how much you want for it, and I'll go take another look at your ad in the classifieds. |

yeah, still selling. I started to try to sell it last year, but it was near the end of the riding season and nobody was looking. So, I just held onto it for the winter, and it's back on the market. I'll PM you some specifics. |

Greetings All, I hope you’ll be able to stop in at L.J.’s on Kimble Avenue in Waterloo, tomorrow from 6:00 - 8:00 for our monthly get-together. Several of the group won’t be in attendance as they took off for Deal’s Gap and the Barber Motorsports Museum this morning for a week of great riding. As for the monthly ride, this coming Sunday, Dave Abbas has been planning a fun ride for us. We will leave from Road Ranger truck stop at 9:00 but I’ll be there at 8:00 for breakfast if you want to get some chow. Dave’s got a big day planned, we’ll be riding up into Northeast Iowa and into Wisconsin in the Prairie DuChien area. If you can’t ride all day, come along and peel off when you need to. UPCOMING EVENTS... June 24 9:00 Sportbike Ride - meet at Road Ranger in Elk Run July 6,7,8 CCS races at Road America, I’ll be racing Friday and Saturday July 8 2:00 Moto-ST races at Road America July 14 6:00 Moto-ST races at Iowa Speedway, Newton July 14-15 Trackday at MidAmerica See you tomorrow... Hope it's not too late to get ahold of you all... I had to work last at the plant open house today and did not make it to Dave's place- but I still want to ride with you all tomorrow. What route are you taking to Prarie? I plan on meeting you somewhere along the way, I really feel like getting up super early and burn down boring 20 for 90 miles to meet up and head straight back East... Let me know and I'll meet you somewhere along the way, otherwise I might just head up there on the Iowa side in the morning and see if I see you guys. |

Craig - I am looking through old issues of Fuell, and a picture in the July/Aug 06 issue caught my eye. It is pictures of Homecoming last year. Is that you? (bottom of page 12) |

Could one of you direct me to a GOOD Buell dealer in Iowa that actually knows something about Buells and cares about it's Buell customers/sales. Rather than some HD dealership that doesn't know shit about Buells (even though they sell them) and could care less if it sold one or not. Thanks! -Rob |

Silver Eagle HD/Buell in Waterloo is the local one to me, and while their bike selection is generally kind of poor, they really care about Buells. Craig used to be a salesman there, so shoot him a PM if you want more details. I tend to hear good things about Zylstra's in Ames as well, but have never been there. |

Yea, try Zylstra H.D. in Ames its right off the interstate on 13th street, Talk to anyone and they will direct you to Tim at the parts counter , he can answer all your questions about buells ! ! They should be able to give you a really good deal on the new old stock buells ! I bought my 2005 firbolt with 5 miles on it ,for 7400 from them, about 3 months ago. Gr8Buzz |

Also check Wilwert's in Dubuque. Last fall, when I got my Uly, they were the only dealership in Iowa that wanted to sell a Buell less than MSRP. Dealer cost plus setup and freight. I saved about 2k and it was an '07. Great people to top it all off. |

Rob, If you head up to Wilwerts, shoot me a PM. I'm in Dubuque and know a few of the folks there, and it'd just be cool to meet up! |

Thanks for the responses guys. I've been calling around and it sounds like all the salesguys are at some big dealer meeting right now until the weekend. I'm trying to determine when the '08s will be on the floor as i'd like an '08 Uly. I'll keep you in mind if I head up that way prior...regardless of what I'm riding.. |

Greetings All, Several of you have expressed an interest in doing a track day. As the “track” season is starting to wind down there is a great opportunity for everyone to get on the track yet this fall. Troy and I are planning on attending the SportBike TrackTime sponsored event at Blackhawk Farms, September 8th or 9th. Here’s the deal. If you’re interested in getting on the track this would be a great track to do it at and it’s relatively close to home. The cost of the day is $195.00 which includes your membership to SportBike TrackTime (which is required) but you do get a t-shirt and many other perks if you want to take advantage of them. I’d like to find out how many, if anyone, are interested in going. Since it’s a Saturday or Sunday event I’d like to know which day will work for the majority. I have room for three bikes in my trailer and I’m sure between us we can find a few more trailers so don’t let that stop you! Check out all the info at http://www.sportbiketracktime.com/ or call them at (888) 390-4020. Here’s a link that pretty much lays out the day’s events, http://www.sportbiketracktime.com/experience.html I talked to them today and they currently have less than 10 pre-registered in the novice and intermediate groups with a maximum of 30 in the novice and 35 in the intermediate groups. I hope we can have a F.A.S.T. contingent at this event, believe me, it’s an experience you’ll be talking about all winter!! Ralph Longus |

Did anyone go to the "New Model Rollout" at Silver Eagle last weekend? I wanted to make it, but had to put my truck back together. I am wondering if they got any 08's in. |
