You riding up? Which bike? I am thinking about a day run, or maybe a shirt run. Sometimes I go up for Friday night, grab a couple of shirts, and ride back. Furthest I have e'er been on the Buell is 285 miles around Lake Okechobee and I did that in an afternoon. I know with the right config it is comfy. I need saddlebags for it though and don't have any. Anyways, might be willing to make the run. What are the particulars?? |

Stretch, More than likely, I will tow up to my buddies house in Port Saint Lucie area. Drop the trailer and truck, and we'll ride up to Daytona from there. The trip is about 2 hours not pushing it from his place. Plenty of parking in the 17 acre farm. I still need the 9R together to bring another bike, otherwise I have to just go to Daytona and pickup my X1 and leave my brother grounded for the day. Prefer to ride with him, but need to do a bunch of bolting together between now and then to get the motor back into the 9R. Still, assuming I can achieve this, should be towing up. Have room for 1 additional bike for sure, two if we want to risk the space squeeze. I can offer a trailer ride to Port Saint Lucie even if I don't take the 9R, as I have no problem is someone would rather just ride the bike part way. Trailer is a 6x12 covered with ramp and MC stops. yea that is the official new name for a couple months now even though the sign still says OPEN and some of us still refer to it as Fudd's to avoid any confusion. I will be there round 7ish my brother leaves this evening on his way up to orange city with plans to hit Daytona sometime in the next few days. I unfortunately will miss it this year, but am already planning for bike week. |

My Buell is in the shop, and won't be out until next week. I guess that means I won't be riding it to Daytona this year. Fuel leak, needs O rings, had to be ordered. I spoke to them when I was half asleep. I guess I will see it next week sometime. May ride up to Daytona on the Hog. I will have to wait and see. Finances are a problem. |

Been there, done that, got the t shirt. Hey torq, if you are still looking for work, now would be the time to make your move. My old job appears to be up for grabs again. Talked to Mikey up in Daytona, but I didn't stay the night. Rode it in this AM. 520 miles, give or take. |

hey torq, i tried to catch up to ya before you hit the stoplight to tell ya i already liked it, but when i got home my ass hurt. i rode it a couple more times and felt it was hard to take my mind off of it while i was riding. i rode it to boca tonight and it didnt bother me. i guess that means im still undecided. maybe it just needs a tweak to ease the downward angle for better ergos. i believe a few more miles are needed to settle. thanks so much, you really helped me. did you feel you needed to get used to the streetfighter again? |

Despite the forecast, Daytona was good to great yesterday. A bit hot, and not nearly so crowded as bike week. Just got back, I think I'll need a weekend off.... CB (Message edited by sflabuell on October 21, 2007) |

Buell is still in the shop. Evidentially, the fuel leak was there from the beginning. May be because I left the bike outside to cool that I didn't always notice it. Glad I'm getting it fixed. Rode the Harley up to Biketoberfest on Friday. left out of here around 7, and made it up there about 11 ish. Got in touch with Mikey, but we didn't get together. Was over at Main St. and made it up to the Spoke at about 2 AM, when they were closing down. From there, I rode home. Going up was a major PITA. Hit rain like you wouldn't believe for about an hour. Torrential flood was more like it, with a crosswind of about 50 MPH or so. Was stuck in traffic, nowhere to pull over, and just followed the car in front. If it wasn't for the full face helmet, I have no idea how I would have made it. Went on for almost an hour. Coming back wasn't nearly as bad. LEarned one thing. The bars on the King make it hard to tuck behind the screen. I think that the 1125R that is coming out is going to be a pretty good all weather bike. Plus, I took the breath cup thing out of the helmet. Not having that in meant that during the heaviest rains, I had to leave the bottom of the face shield up one notch to be able to see. In order to do that, I had to lean forward behind the windscreen. Wasn't really comfy doing that. Weather like that is when the ergos on the R start looking really good. Oh well, a good time nonetheless, and about 520 miles, give or take. |

I took the old faithful pickup up. Listened to my brother complain about the Lightning ERGOs, so I rode it home. Unfortunately, I only had my rain jacket (IT fits under the X1 seat. I got into a turd floater about 15 miles from my friend in Fort Pierce. Took about a 6 hour stop, dried all the clothes, and finished the ride as excellently as it had begun. Still need a TPS reset. Now after talking to the SPEED Dyno guy I now understand what this will do for me, so now it's time to get it to the shop, or buy the ECMSPY setup and do it myself. Life is too good, I got a biketoberfest T and a couple of Boot Hill Ts. What a country! I doubt I'll make Amos's this Thursday, have a big weekend planned. Fishing and boating on Friday. House and Fantasy Fest Parade for Saturday. Swamp buggy races in Naples on Sunday! Yoohoo! Clif |

Scarewolf, thanx the the back room tour! that XB is pretty sweet. after hangin out and having the short chat w/ Ricky I decided to pull out the ol service manual and take a stab at it--managed to pull the code and my initial diagnosis was correct with a DTC21 interactive exhaust issue and using the flow chart was able to locate and repair not 1 but 2 major chafes in the harness that were grounding out. after repairing the harness and resetting the cable on valve all is good once again. still not liking the streetfighter seat--the way it rotates my hips puts added pressure on my inner thighs and actually fits me worse than my cg seat even though the streetfighter has more padding? both my brothers had a ball @ Biketoberfest-wish I could of made it-ohh well!! I will b @ OPEN on Thursday-hope to see all who can make it--have fun Clif! |

Looks like rain tonight, so I am going to bail. Power went out this morning about 7 AM. Was out for about 2 hours. 42 houses were out when I called FPL. Wouldn't even have noticed it, except that I woke up and couldn't breathe. Was fine once I opened the door and left the screen closed. Weird. I'll be glad once it cools down enough to open the windows again. |

Back, tired. From what i read, Torq, after I get ECM SPy hookup made you can do TPS reset and fuel map all you want. Almost there, just got to find another alternate source for the connector. |

D*mn Torq, meant to get to the Auto show last nite also. Really bushed. All this great weather means extra work around the hacienda... Hopefully I'll squeeze it into today. And the boat hasn't moved in at least two weeks. All work and no play. Ferris never would have let this happen... Clif |

we were on S. Beach all day Saturday also-left the show around 4 and had dinner on Lincoln road w/ some friends from Deltona.--sometimes me and Mikey don't communicate much/well w/ each other-it's the brother thing I guess! Clif, be more like Ferris and call out sometime-homestead will always be there 24/7, but great boating and riding days (even in S. Fla) are numbered Needlegunner, welcome to the Badweb. we are on the east coast and I don't believe that any of us know of any on the opposite coast-try inquiring @ the Tampa section of stormfronts or go to Buell.com and in owners section see if any clubs are local to you. |
