Us-Uly: How did the '08 Ulysses compare to your '07? I'm most interested in the running of the fan. Did it run less with the new cooling improvements? Thanks, Mark |

Okay, so we are a bit lax posting here. But had to tell all what a great weekend I had in WV. Amazing roads, amazing people and amazing times. I hope next year we get a few more folks to come. Mark and his family really know how to put out the hospitality. So very glad to have participated. |

Well i figured i'd check in haven't been here in a while. we've had the quads out almost every weekend for the last couple of months. We do about 25 to 40 miles a weekend. We also found a private racetrack their letting us ride on. I ended up in the hospital a couple weeks ago. I thought i broke some ribs but only cracked one and brused alot of them. I under shoot a thirty foot triple and came up 5 feet short. I hit head on into the third one. I'm not real sure what went wrong. I was hitting the same one all day with little effort. Well anyway i signed up for quad wars in september. Work found out and their not real happy the president of the company and the owner took me out the other night to wine & dine me. They told me were going to discuss the new building their builden me. Really they took me out to talk me out of taking stupid risks. They didn't like me riding the buell and they don't like me riding the quad. They ask me how they could talk me out of risking my neck. I told them they could buy me a new roush mustang. Their exact words were STOP BEING A F-CKING SMART ASS. I still plan on getting another bike next summer. Boy that will really piss them off. We'll gotta run i have a late meeting tonight. Hey Mattu just because you ride two wheels and i ride four doesn't mean still can't be friends. |

Wile_ecoyote, Are you going to make it to Mid Ohio for the Inside Pass track day on Oct.4th? I know you said you didn't want to ride given the current state of your foot. But they do allow spectators and I'm sure you would have a good time. |

I think by then I'll be ready to ride. Gonna probably have to have surgery. Doc said this morn not looking any better. I can cope with it. I'd love to get in some track time so I can learn how to get rid of my chicken strips. Least they're not cutlets..... Course any time I ride behind you I learn alot. Look forward to it either spectator or rider. |

I took it for a shake down run last night before the sun went down. When I pulled into the garage I didn't get close enough to the stand. I'm sure it would made for a good laugh. Me yelling for my wife, reaching for the stand, almost dropping the bike..... |

I'll see you all at the Mid Ohio Inside Pass Oct. 4th. I'm coming up from Cincinnati with a buddy. I'll happily be riding in the beginner group. Based on all the time in the morning we had when we went to Road America, I'm guessing we will leave at 5:30am and get to the track by 8am. Can't wait! |

Didnt get to make Marks (Wolfridgerider)class at Nelson You didn't miss much. The weather was great and I had some good lap times. I had it sideways once and damn near went off the track another time... that stuff lets you know you're alive!! I hope I can get my first race in on Oct.6th. Cool! How many badwebbers does that make now? I think we are going to have good size group of BadWebbers at Mid Ohio on the 4th. I am going to take it real easy. I need to save my tires for that Saturday.... |

Do I have to ride on the track to get into the event or is there also a gate fee for spectators? I'm hoping to pick up my new XB12X on 9/15 and may want to come up. Mark |

BTW (off topic)... any nice woods trails for a quiet 250cc four stroke dual sport anybody knows about? Preferably towards the Cincinnati area? The ideal ride for me would a 10 or 20 mile loop somewhere through the woods... Looks like there is some decent stuff in Wayne national forest... |

Wayne is good. Clean and unfettered (usually) by game wardens. I got great trails out my way but might be a hike for you. What do you have to ride said trails? I have a KLR 650, not the best but okay to cruise off road. |

Just got an 85 KLR 250, and am bringing it back from the grave. It's running well now, feels like the perfect second bike for me. Got it for $570, and will probably put in another $200 to get it running like it should, but it only has 9k miles on it. It's a great "ride around the woods" bike. The closest I can find is a 2000 acre "private" area about 60 miles away. Looks OK, but I worry about people around me pushing the limits of man and machine. I just want to explore the woods, and maybe stop and fish or relax from time to time. Wayne looks great, thats 100 miles (so still very doable, maybe even just on the KLR and no truck or trailer... 70+ MPG ya know! ). I was wondering how crowded it gets... I suspect if I take a day off work and head over there that it will be perfect. So anything within 150 miles or so of Lebanon Ohio would be on the short list for at least one trip. A 50 mile scenic tour on what feels like a ski trail, at speeds between 10 and 40 mph, would be my idea of perfect... especially if it had a few out of the way catch and release ponds along it. Sounds like I need to go to MI... |

"I suspect if I take a day off work and head over there that it will be perfect." Taking a day off work to ride is ALWAYS PERFECT! |

Reep: it does sound good. If you need some help finding parts let me know. got a guy in the little town near Amsterdam that may have some things. I love the type of riding you talked about. MY PACE. No bull and no wrecks either by me or the others on the trail. I kinda like a technical kind of ride. Not trials but places you wouldnt think to ride. Dent: amen to that brother. Any day on two wheels beats work hands down. That work sh-- is way overrated!! |
