Hey Eric - I think I'll be in for this as well. I did find another place to check out for lodging though...Sebago Cabins - it's closer to Bear Mountain than that dirt bag motel up route 9 and it's cheaper...I think only 50-60 / night and each cabin sleeps 6 I think. I'll try to give a call at lunch and post the actual info... |

What's the cost for the Bear Mt Lodge? Do you have an info link? I'm already going to NC for the Dragon so I have to watch the coin... |

I have been in contact with T*R*A*M*P....He writes "Ok- Found a great rate on this (W) side of the river- Harriman Motor Inn, 139 Rt, 32 Central Valley, NY. We can get a room rate of $85- for a 4-bed room (sounds kind of Roger Miller, don't it just?) and the good news is that it sits right on the NYS Thruway (Rt. 87) making it impossible to miss. It also sits on Rt.6/Palisades Pkwy entrance, so it's a straight 10-minute shot to Perkins. It's also near enough to Mort's etc., so that should we have a BBQ or a suds & Chow session at a nearby watering hole, it's a short, safe (and preferably sober) trip. tel. for Motel: (845) 928 2266. Let's get the NEBO guys, etc., all on board to book rooms, there, as it's incredibly easy to find from any point, and very near, & direct, (to) the run site. Please post on the associated boards- thanks- jay ps- please distribute this intel to interssted particpants." The biggest development I'd like to execute: A two-day affair, where the Saturday before sees NEBOs, South Jersey crew, etc., all meeting for a quick day blast, and/or meeting up for chow and suds the night BEFORE Sunday's run. This might also enable Joe Frus' (ATC Pres.) attendance. I think Joe's presence at HHI was key (I've taken the lib of cc-ing this to Joe, along w/a few others...Blake, Court (c'mon, Court- make the run!), Mike Cook-Washingtonville Auto Parts, Rocker- ATC's road capt., Johann, Seth D, ATC) I'll recontact the folks at the various lodges across the lake from the Bear Mtn. Inn (Cliff house, etc., all owned by Bear Mtn. Inn) tomorrow AM- they have a few 'stone houses' that have 6 bedrooms/baths, and a nice big common area, and a Firepit outside. the rates were not too bad. We have a really EXCELLENT T-shirt design, this year, and we're hoping to do hoodies, in time for some pre-run orders. If possible, see if you can get a little thread started on Badweb's 'Storm Fronts' (and 'quickboard', if possible, as that is read by all) , along w/ATC's 'runs' section and General Discussion. Blake & Joe- If either of you would like, we'd like to include your logos/web edress on the shirts, as shirt sponsors (not to be confused w/'run sponsors', so as to keep you indemnified). I think it might be cool, let me know what you both think. I'm going to speak to some shops, as well (New Roc, Danbury, et al.). Please pass word along to MikeXLR, Hammer, Gomo, etc. I liked Gomo's safety speech and Buell DVD handout, at HHI. I'm hoping to sort of open a second class of attendance to cruiser-types, just for leaf-peeping up in the country. Could be really nice, and prompt more participation in this FREE event. I'm going to drum up some buzz in some local papers/cycle mags. We're also redesigning the site this week. (Message edited by firebolteric_ma on September 20, 2007) |

If we were to put together some kind of food banquet or at least get a catering-type place involved for the Headless Horseman III Run for our meal on the day of the run, would approx $25 be OK. Keep in mind, no one is collecting money to put towards a group meal, I am just asking if such a sum is agreeable or way out of line. I know you guys will already be shelling out clams for lodging and what-not. |

Eric - count me in on one of those beds, $21 per night is easy enough, especially since I'll be getting paid between now and then (the monthly pay is great for bills...but it's a long time between deposits!). Planning on heading out Friday night or hauling azz early Saturday morning? I'll be trailering out...I have room for one more bike if anybody is interested or I can just throw all your kit in the truck so you're not hauling it on the bike... Time to get some work done... |

JLB,....I am good with 25.00 That is cheap to Feast With Friends..... Unfortunately I wont be able to leave till saturday. But I can be in N.Y. by 6a.m. or so for saturday's ride....My wife gets home around 12:30-1:00am...I can leave right after she walks in if I needed... My wife works Friday nights (Bartender/Baby sitter)and makes waaaay to much $$$ for me to justify letting her stay home. Can one of you guys call in the morning and make the reservations tomorrow???? Just Decide when youz guyz will be heading down and book accordingly. I am sure some more stragglers will be tagging along last minute.....I am sure there is some floor space if really needed....Means even cheaper rates for the weekend...lol |

OK - here's the skinny on the rooms... The hotel is no longer the Harriman Motor Inn, it is now Americas Best Vallue Inn. They do NOT have 4 bed rooms, they have rooms with 2 double beds. I did reserve one room for Friday Oct 19 and Saturday Oct 20. I got a 'special rate' of $75.00 per night. We can most likely get a cot for a third person for the room unless somebody really wants to double up...please - no hands between warm soft pillows... So - let me know if we need another room or more for Saturday night...I don't hear/see input from somebody...I don't book more rooms. |

Not sure if you're aware of this, but motel double deuces are actually comprised of two sets of side-by-side twins. two guys aoutta four opt for floor space with one twin matterss...or, if you're worried, bring two air matts for each room of four. Still works out to around $22- per man per night, taxes included. |
