Geeezzz!!! All these last min. issues won't let me out the door, but I'll disappear shortly. Can't ride anything I've got(I have been known to drive my truck on two wheels though), but a function like this surely needs at least one observer. FB is surely a figment, maybe D's not. Rotzaruck!!! |

Just got back from Buelltoberfest and all I can say is...WOW! Met a few fellow BadWebbers, AND had the pleasure of watching Xbullet take Gixxer corner...IN A FREAKIN WHEELCHAIR!!!!!!!!(Way to go man, glad to see you up and about.) You guys are my kinda crowd for sure. I did have the unpleasant experience of dropping my R for the first time, ran a bit wide and was still on the front brake(like a tool) when I got in the grass. Only going like 5mph when I actually went down...and by the grace God, I suffered ZERO injuries OR serious bike damage. No frame pucks and the only real damage is a bent right side clip-on...and a head start on polishing my header(not even a dent)...can you say "Leprechaun in the pocket"?. All in all I had a great time with you guys and am eagerly looking forward to MBV so we can do it again. For all those still rippin' it up at TWO...have a great time and keep the rubber side down. Today rocked. The weather was perfect, and we had over 50 Buells ripping up the mountains. I think we racked up three low sides, but no one was injured, and only one of the bikes didn't ride away from the scene. We had around 25 bikes parked at one corner where we shot pictures. I'll get the full size pics uploaded somewhere this week. For now, here are some badweb sized shots: Barker gets the Hammer71 Most Photogenic Award for titianium knee sliding above and beyond the call of duty.
Xbullet and Dixiegurl arrived in style
Xbullet burned up the corner

Sanchez -- thanks for those pics. i told you i'd make it! i even drove my gimpy ass up there! Thanx also to everybody i talked to yesterday. Dixie and I haven't had that much fun since my accident. The BadWeB bunch are the best, and C3 and the 3%ers are the best friends anybody could wish for. and with Dixiegurl actually being from New Hampshire, she was glad to see all the New England license plates. i know i was glad to see them and their riders too. see ya at MBV!!!! |

I just got home and unloaded too. Saw more Buells than I have seen in my life. Didn't see much riding at all, and sure didn't do any. Until there's more time, Just one thing I wanted to mention. I didn't get to meet nearly as many BadWeBers as I wanted to, but the ones I met were the nicest bunch of real figments I could have ever imagined. |

Absolutely outstanding weekend! It was great to meet everyone IRL! I am amazed at how much fun that area is. It doesn't matter how many times you ride the roads there, it's just stinkin' fun!!!!!! Unfortunately, my weekend ended with the attack of the gremlins. I pulled to a stop sign in a small town and the bike just died. Turned the key and nothing. Turned off the high beams and turned the key again. CLICK, CLICK, CLICK, CLICK. Crap. Luckily, I eventually discovered I was within three blocks of an O'Reiley's. They tested the battery and it tested as "Bad--Please Replace" and they had a battery spec'd for the Uly. Fired it right up. Great. Quick fix and I'm on my way. About an hour later, I had to slow down to a crawl and the engine started to sputter. It stopped if I revved the engine or if the RPMs picked up. Later the "Check Engine Light" flickered when the RPMs dropped below 3,500. In the end, the headlights were so dim, it looked like I didn't have any and the last few miles the CEL came on and didn't go out. The bike completely took a crap as I rolled into my driveway. I'm thinking stator or voltage regulator. Any bets? To the about to close shop crew at O'Reiley's for making sure I had what I needed and being willing to stay late if needed. Bravo and thank you! To the Buell Dealer 56 miles away who was completely unwilling to even discuss the option of sending someone out with a battery and tester even though I explained that I was an out of town rider of an in warranty bike because "we are going to be closing soon and everybody be heading out and there isn't anything we can do for you". You are part of the problem, not he solution. What I really like is the service girl who said that if I had a Harley they could probably have done something. Thank you Kristi, Glitch, and everyone else who helped to suggest and pull together a great event! It wouldn't happened without you! I hope this is the first of many Buelltober Fests. Thank you folks of Suches for sharing your roads with us. Thank you BadWeb for being replete with some of the greatest people I have ever had the opportunity to meet and know. And finally, thank you Beer Fairy, whoever you are. |

For me, some of the best riding/company I have had in a long time. Nothing like a big pack of buells thundering thru the mountains. Great roads, just not used to the reflectors. My left knee is killing me. I hit 5 reflectors total. psssssssst, pop, psssssssssst One on Richard Russell while moving @ a brisk pace about scared a terd outta of me. I'm sure the pop echoed in the mountains. "They say it's the quiet ones you have to look out for, and Froggy is living proof " My favorite moment was watching froggy riding wheelies up wolf pen gap. Froggy is hardcore. Good show. Pleasure meeting yall. We will have to do it again. ~Barker |

Sounds like Buelltoberfest was a great gathering; sorry I couldn't make it. FB, don't forget to check that connector down near the output pulley on the transmission. Several people have reported problems with corrosion or pushed out pins on the connector causing problems with the charging system. You know, a guy told me a long time ago that a volt meter was one of the best accessories you can add to a bike. If the voltage drops below ~12 volts while you're riding, you know you've got a problem long before the battery goes stone dead. There are some nifty little LED volt meters out there just for motorcycles that only cost ~$30 or so. I'm thinking I'm gonna order one real soon. |

Home sweet home. We are home. We get home to three little faces in the window and a couple of fuzzy ones. It was a fun weekend. We had a great time as always. I can't wait until MBV. We will have to get the party going at C3 Central again. To the bear fairy - thanks for the memories, or the loss of them, and the tip about Ben Gay. Vern thanks for letting me steal parts off your bike. I love it. Thanks Sanchez for the tach. After watching DJ on fly on his M2, I want to get mine back out there.
