I wanted to thank Mel for the great ride today. Even with the rain, and wet roads, and gravel, and... hahaha. Was I the only one that got hungry every time we passed a ham curing plant? |

you guys! Well, I promise to actually ride the roads i suggest before the ride next time! Yeah, unpaved roads in Surry.... Who Knew?!! Anyway, Afterwards, I went looking for trouble ... I found it! in the form of a guy named Rocky riding a silver and red S1. he said that he is looking to get rid of it, I told him about the site, so, if you see one advertised in the next couple of weeks, go see it. It looks good and was really quick on the road. Anyway, Hope you guys had a good ride today, It sure is a pretty day to be out... but after spending all day on the bike yesterday, I had better get some "honeydo's" done today!!! |

WHEW!!! man have I been busy. I started as a Sunday school teacher, I'm testing soldiers what seems like all the time, momma's pregnant and the kids are always demanding of my time. I will make it to the fleet ride though. Who's gonna go? It looks to be a real good time although I don't know if I'll ride or not. There's gonna be a bunch of bikes!

You don't really want to know about the 1125, do ya? O.K. here it is... Everything you have read is true. The bike is freakin' awesome! It turns like it's on rails, like it just wants to keep turning forever, BUT... When you do straighten her out and hammer the gas, you had better have your head on straight and all your life needs sorted. It will blow your f-in mind right out your ass. There is no torque curve, it's just a flat line from about 3k all the way up. I hammered it in 3rd, and within about 3 seconds I had tunnel vision so bad I backed out. Totally not prepared for the brute force. The slipper clutch works real good too. Now for the bad news... These bikes were the "pre-production" models you have heard about. The one I rode needed some sorting in the tranny dept., among other small things I'm sure will get worked out before production. It acted like a chain drive bike with no cush drive. Ratchety/clunky/noisy. Much worse than my 03. And personally, the bike is just too big for me to ride comfortably. If they ever make the 1125S, I'll be one of the first in line. Had a great time in Roanoke also. Went street carving on Thurs., and Fri. we took the dirt bikes out in the rain. Great until my dirt bike died about 5mi in. I think it was getting water in the gas somehow. I managed to limp it back to the truck. Sat, was a bit of sight seeing, and Sun, I returned home. I'm still just beat from the whole trip, I need a vacation from vacation. Tank |

Thanks Tank for the report... I'll wait for the 3rd model year, by then they will have refined it to the point where nothing will be needed to added on, and I'll still have to get on a friggin waiting list. (Oh and by then I will have the title to the Scg.)
Kevin!!! Man I was concerned something might have happened to you. You got REAL quiet all of a sudden. I'm use to not SEEing you, but you usually make a promise to "show up" to something! (And we both know how they drive on the Pen!) Ok, so when is the "Fleet Ride"? |

Mike - everything is good. I experienced some strange front end feedback earlier in the ride when we went through some of the tighter corners but thought nothing of it. After some looking, I think the pinch bolts on the triple tree were loose and me not paying attention when I went off-road. I believe I will only require a turn signal and a bar end. I have not had a chance to go to SSHD and probably will not be back on the road until mid Oct. I will leave for Fort Campbell, KY for about three weeks in about 10 days. |

Tank I'm working a driving school all day Saturday so it would need to be on Sunday. Somewhere on your side of the river start time is up to you I can make any start, the route can be a repeat of a previous ride, something new or just aimlessly head off in a general direct. As long as I can find good Mexican food(new tradition)at the end or very near it I am good. Plan A is running good and the exhaust is on good and tight, not going anywhere. Mike |

WOOHOO...Ft Campbell!!! I just left there. They have a bada$$ road to ride if you can. HWY 232 off of HWY 72. It's between Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake. Man what a nice ride. There is also a nice bar down there called Fat Daddy's(I think). You'll see the signs. Have fun bro! I'm so jealous. Tank- any word on when the gooduns will be HERE. (Message edited by kmfw160 on September 20, 2007) P.S. If anyone sees a burgandy suburban(Alabama plates) with a big Buell sticker in the back window thats KMFW! I replaced mine with miniature ones after that last big ride we went on (oh, didn't go on cause plan B coughed up a lung) But you're welcome to one if you want it bro. So Sunday morning huh? I'm game. See ya'll there.

Kev, If you mean the 1125, I'm not sure. HRHD had a couple 2008 XB's real early, like within a couple weeks of the release news. If that is any indication, they should be there by/in December.(best guess) Mel, See ya Sunday! |
