Well, that was an interesting ride. Luckily we ended up stopping at Clare's H-D / Buell on the way home. To make a long story short, I fixed my clutch. Steven didn't properly adjust the clutch pack when he installed the primary cover. So, that's three primary cover gaskets in two weeks. Besides blue Loctite, how can I stop the shifter linkage bolt (which also holds the primary cover to the crankcase) from vibrating loose? Lornce, have you got any goop that'll hold a bolt in place? I don't think my reversed shift pattern could be the cause. The shift lever floats on bushings, I've had it that way for some time without trouble. Maybe I've got some isolators on the way out? I haven't detected an increase in overall vibrations, but these things can happen slowly without notice. Court...any ideas? |

Caboose, I've got some loctite products that're a little more serious than the blue or 242 grade. You're welcome to them. 262 orta do jus fine. Though I'm a little confused about the shifter linkage bolt holding the primary cover to the crank case??? I'll be going to St. Catherine's in the morning and leaving for work around 1:45pm.... but I should be around for a short time in between, if I miss you I'll leave it in the mailbox or with my tenant. I need more track time.... am spending too much time day dreaming about an 88" motor increased ride height and rear set pegs.... cheers, Lawrence |

lornce, you and me both!! especially if my S1W becomes reality (that can be as early as this wednesday!). maybe we can get a deal on (2) 88" kits i may have scored a race header off my mechanic, still looking for a muffler. according HD parts, S1 race kits are on back order and there is no eta on when they might have them. man, i must have looked at our pictures a million times! btw, have you heard of this: Mosport Rider Developement Track ... its a first come first serve type deal (which is great if you want to keep it till the last minute), and apperently its a great track to ride. there are 3 track days coming up. cheers, K

Kahuna, Post the dates for the RDT at Mosport. I'll see what I can do. A buddy of mine's ridden it and says it's fun. Personally, I've never even seen it. So, are you going to Montreal to get that bike, or not? BTW, did you post your photo links to the "Cool Buell Pics" page? Last I saw, that page could use some track action.... later budd, Lornce |

> > So, are you going to Montreal to get that bike, or not? > i am for sure going mike and i have planned the whole thing already, we're goin down on wednesday ! the only reason why it sounds like i might not is if the guy calls monday or tuesday to call off the deal! i'm getting the cheque done tomorrow! the dates for RDT are: Monday June 23 Wednesday September 3 Tuesday September 23 have a great day... Lornce, I won't be able to get to your place today. I'm too busy being pampered on Dad's Day!!! The Mosport RDT, depending on how they set it up, can be even more technical and twisty than Cayuga. Tonne o' fun, buy very exhausting. |

Thanks for the Saturday ride Caboose (and bro James). I had a great time. Loved the route ! Confidence shaken on my first ride on my new bike watching your bike bleed ! Still think the first repair they did on your starter has something to do with it. As you said, it was fine till then. Hope they/you have it sorted. Cheers, Brett

Hey Guys, Are any of you going to be around Toronto area near August 23rd. I am debating making the jaunt to Toronto before I go off to Manitoulin Island (24th of August through Sept 1). Would any of you like to ride the northern coast of Lake Huron around then? Dropping the Newfie around the 23rd most likely. Let me know! Charlotte |

Brett, those are some of the most entertaining roads in southern Ontario....glad you had a good time. These Buell's are like a high maintenance girlfriend / mistress.....they can be as pain in the ass, but well worth the ride. K, I called Storz directly and ordered them. Keep in mind, these pegs offer little traction, especially when wet. Whatever, if you can stick around for a day, I'd love to go for a ride with you, I can't venture too far though, I'm going up to North Bay with the family later that week. |
